Passing Authentication to drill through report

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 07, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Ok I have a report that has authentication that I pass through reportviewer.   I have a link in this report a drill through report, problem is when I click on the link in the report viewer won't let me authenticate.  I pass credentials through onDrillThrough event, but it still doesn't work.  I would rather pass these network credentials from this reprot that were enterd to the drill through report.  Their has to be a simple way to access the already authenticated login information and pass to the drill through report like I do with the other parameters in the jump to report action of the textbox.  Any ideas I can't use a url because I am passing sensitive data that can't be seen or accessed by the user.

Passing report parameters by report viewer

I have 4 parameters in which 3 are passed in report and 1 is passed through report viewer. I have made a parameter in SSRS called CandidateId to which I want to pass the value. The code for report viewer is:

 intReportID = Convert.ToInt32(Request.QueryString["ReportID"
 CandId = Convert.ToString(Session["CandidateId"
lblReportName.Text = dtReport.Rows[0]["ReportName"
SSRSReportViewer.ShowCredentialPrompts =false

 SSRSReportViewer.ServerReport.ReportServerCredentials = new
SSRSReportViewer.ProcessingMode = Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.

 SSRSReportViewer.ServerReport.ReportServerUrl = new

SSRSReportViewer.ServerReport.ReportPath = dtReport.Rows[0]

 Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter[] theparams = new

theparams[0] = new
, CandId);
theparams[0].Visible = false

Preview Crystal Report from ASP.net without passing parameters

Hi Everyone,

Sorry couldn't think of any better Subject..

I am developing a User Reports Module using C#.Net using Visual Studio 2005. Basic purpose of this module is to allow user to be able to run their own Crystal Reports. i.e. if Users have their own Crystal Reports specific to their needs then we allow them to save them and view them from our user reports module.

So when user saves any report we save it on server and save the Physical path of that report in database. Now when user tries to view the report I get the location from database and load it. Which works ok. The issue now is those reports which have got parameters.

I am not saving any information about parameters in their reports. So I do not have any information about Report Parameters.

This same application exists in VB6. What that VB application does is opens the Crystal Report and then Crystal report asks for needed parameters exactly as it will do if we try to open a crystal report using crystal report and preview it from there it asks for parameter values.

How can I do that in C#.Net.

VB has got code like this

Global Appl As New CRAXDRT.Application

Passing XML into a SSRS report from c#

I have a SSRS report that queries an XML file. I'm calling this report from c# and redering it as a PDF. The only way I can do this is to save the XMl into a path that is already defined in the report. My question is, can I send the XML into the report so that the report uses the parameterised report as the datsource?

Report Viewer Control and Passing Paramaters

Hi Guys, I have a situation where I am created a WEB APP that has a submit button on a FORM on the first ASPX page.  I have some VB code behind that to generate Header and Lines records in two tables with a HEADER ID as my PK.  I have another ASPX page which has the Report Viewer control on it and prompts me for the HEADER ID and displays the report correctly when I manually enter the HEADER ID.What I am now trying to achieve is when the user clicks the submit button on the FORM I want it to redirect to the other ASPX page and pass through the Header ID as a Parameter and automatically display the REPORT. Can somebody please point me in the right direction to achieve this.ThanksJoel

Passing parameters from ASP.Net web page to SSRS report

I have a web page that displays some data.  The user first selects a date range on the web page and then can edit some data.  When they click a submit button, I want to run a report.  But I would like to pass the start date and end date values that the user already entered on the web page to the report.  Is this possible?  Can I use the value of a session variable in the report? Problems passing parameters to SSRS report from ASP.Net web page

I have a web page that displays some data.   When they click a submit button, I want to run a report.  But I would like to pass the start year/month and end year/month values that the user already entered on the web page to the report.  Here is what my url looks like when the report is displayed: http://xyzserver/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReports%2fDevicesAllNew&rs:Command=Render&StartYYMM=201007&EndYYMM=201008 But my report displays the 2 textboxes for my StartYYMM and EndYYMM parameters as empty.  What am I doing wrong?  I did a google search and I saw something about using ReportServer instead of ReportManager.  I notice at the top of the browser when I run my report, it reads "Report Manager - Windows Internet Explorer".  Is this correct? SharePoint - Report Server - Client Certificate authentication

Hi,I have a SharePoint site collection which requires client certificates. On the server I have configured Reporting Services in integration mode.I can call reports on other site collections which don't require client certificates but not on the site which does. On the site which requires client certificates the pages fail with the following error message:'An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> The request failed with HTTP status 403: forbidden'The error message indicates that SharePoint doesn't call the web service with a client certificate. Does anyone know how I can configure SharePoint to use a client certificate?Any help is greatly appreciated.Adam

SSRS 2008 Custom Authentication works when using ReportServer url but not when report manager url is

Hi, I am using SSRS 2008 with Custom security extension for authentication. The extension is developed in c#. I have placed the dll under report server bin and report manager bin directory and the logon,login pages under appropriate directory. My reports manager url is http://localhost:port/Reports and my reports server url is http://localhost:port/ReportServer. When I try to login through reports manager url, I am getting 'login failed' error message from the dll. But when I try to login using reports server url, it works. I have also set 'FullTrust' named permission set in RSMgrPolicy.config . <CodeGroup class="FirstMatchCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="FullTrust" Description="This code group grants MyComputer code Execution permission. "> < IMembershipCondition class = " ZoneMembershipCondition " version = " 1 " Zone = " MyComputer " /> Any suggestions please!   Thanks!

Passing Credentials to IIS "Integrated Windows authentication" Protected Directory

Hello All,I have set up a directory on my IIS web server that is protected by "Integrated Windows authentication".  I want visitors to be required to enter a name and password to view files in the protected directory except if they are following a link to files in the protected directory from a certain page on my website.I am doing this to try to get better protection from search engine spidering than is provided by using a robots.text file. I am using ASP.NET 3.5 with VB.  I am wondering if there is a way to pass the log on credentials to the IIS server via a link, or if there is a way to fill in the name and password for the login screen automatically, or something else that would work.  It is OK if the login name and password are visible to the visitors.Any suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated or if there is a better way to accomplish what I am trying to do, I would like to know.Thanks

JavaScript Error while calling a drill through report in a report viewer from a asp.net web page.

I am calling a report in a web page which is getting displayed in report viewer. This report comes fine but when I click on it to see the drill through report for this parent report the drill through report does not get displayed and I see a JScript error instead.

The error I get is something like,

parent.document.GetElementByID(...).ClientController is not null or not an object

The aspx page that contains the report viewer inherits from a master page that contains an Update Panel.

I tested the report separately in SSRS and the drill through is working fine there.

Can some one please provide any inputs on this one?

Passing Parameter to A Report

There is a main report which takes 3 multi selectable parameters. These are sended to subreport with no problem with the expression of =Parameter!Retailer.Value but I have some other parameters in the other report that I send depending on which cell I click on main report. For example these values are passed like =Fields!Gender.Value. And i want the subreport parameters to be selected as well and parameters are takin from a query. For example I set the first three parameters in main report and clicked on a cell whick is written 'Male', I want the parameter in the subreport to be selected 'Male' and show Female as an option. I couldn't solve my problem even if I tried everything. It would be nice if somebody solves it. thanks a lot
