Control of clicked buttons

If I am not using the correct forum, please redirect me to the right one.

This is my question:

I have got a project in which I've got Windows computer clients. All of them are running an application.

I should configure an application that calculate how many times a user clicked on a certain button in this application.

I don't know how to do that and I would like to ask you if this is feasable and if it can be done using .NET

I never used .NET and in this project I would like to work with Microsoft technologies.

So, can any one tell if that can be done?

If yes, can you explain to me what should I do to do that?

thanx

How to make cause validation false for Show Edit buttons in Gridview control

  HI. I am having 2 (dept name, City)dropdownlist, 1 Save button once if we click the save then record will be displayed in grid (Gridview with ShowEditbutton =true and I have Edit logic in my page). But if I click on Edit button then if I try to update the value then it is firing a message "Select dept" because dept dropdown present in the page so I want to make cause validation false for Show Edit buttons (update and cancel). Pleaase tell me Thanks

In UserControl, FooCmdCanExecute (context menu) not called until after a control button is clicked.

I'm seeing an odd behavior I can't explain.  I am using a 3rd party control, and while it's possible it's an issue with that control, I wanted to inquire here to see if anyone has experienced similar behavior in other instances (unrelated to my particular 3rd party control).

I created a UserControl, comprising a ComponentONE chart and several buttons.  When the UserControl is given a data source (for the chart), it programmatically creates a ContextMenu that allows the user to configure the Y view extent for each of the data series provided in the data source.  After it's created, it's set as the ContextMenu for the chart.  The UserControl is used inside a tab on the app's main window, and is also plunked directly inside another window that can be brought up.

The UserControl defines a RoutedCommand - let's say FooCmd.  When the MenuItems for the context menu are created, their Command properties are set to FooCmd.  Also, a CommandBinding in the UserControl associates FooCmdCanExecute() and FooCmdExecuted() in the control class with the command.

The buttons in the UserControl are for data navigation - e.g. , there's one that moves the chart's "viewport" to the beginning of the data, and one for the "end".  The click handlers are not complex - essentially, they just set

How do I control using ListView when to show the Update/Delete/Insert buttons and when not?

It should be simple, but I didn't found yet how to do it.

There is only one user (Admin with user name and passowrd, he has a cookie so I know when he is watching the page) I would like to show him the Update/Delete/Insert button options in my ListView, but to the other users I don't want them to be able doing this kind of things, So it should be hidden from them.

How I am doing it in C# code?

Showing/Hiding these buttons?

Enable/Disable Buttons based on another control property

Say i have a tab control that displays data of various types, eg EditorTabViewModel (eg. code view of WYSIWYG), PreviewTabViewModel (eg. preview of WYSIWYG) both inheriting from TabViewModel . The implementation is similar to the tutorial on MSDN

I want to enable/disable buttons depending on the active tab, whether its an EditorTabViewModel or a PreviewTabViewModel and maybe based even on properties of the ViewModel?. How can I achieve this?

Single control template for buttons

I have created all my buttons such that they are made up of a rectangle and a path figure. The aim is so I should be able to apply a same control template triggers to all of them - for IsPressed, IsMouseOver and the standard look.

I want to be able to pick the actual template ('path' figure for each button) from an external source and not embed it within the template definition. Otherwise, I am having to define same trigger behaviors for each button separately.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Neetika.

In the example code below, I want to put several 'Path' or the entire 'Grid' outside of the style.

<Style x:Key="MyButton" TargetType="{x:Type Button}" BasedOn="{x:Null}"

Edit a DataGrid row's style by Javascript when a control is clicked.

I have a datagrid I am working with which has a few columns, but one checkbox with a javascript onclientclip event.

I want to highlight the row that the checkbox is clicked, highlighting for the user that this record has changed.

I have a CSS Class of "GrdHiglight" that can be used to override the "GrdNorm" and "GrdAlt" classes, or if I have to manually change the style for the row that is fine.

How do I reference the one row which the checkbox resides in, in the datagrid, to modify this?

I have a file uploader that has a submit image button a view uploaded file button and delete uploaded file button. The control works and will successfully upload the file. however the view button and delete button do not.

        public string LabelText
        {
            get { EnsureChildControls(); return lbl.Text; }
            set { EnsureChildControls(); lbl.Text = value; }
        }

        [Bindable(true), Category("Miscellaneous"), DefaultValue(""), Localizable(true)]
        public string FileName
        {

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Accessing the different controls inside a GridView control

how we can access a particular control which resides inside a GridView control. In this article I will show you how you can access different controls inside a GridView control. We will see how we can access a TextBox control, a DropDownList control and a ListBox control. If you are working with ASP.NET 1.X then you might want to check out my article Accessing Different Controls Inside a DataGrid.

In-Depth look at the GridView Control

In the last article we looked at few of the new controls available in Asp.net 2.0. We also talked about Grid View Control which has replaced the Asp.net 1.1 DataGrid control for good. In this article we will examine more features of the Grid View control. In this article we will see some of the common operations that can be performed using the GridView control. Apart from these operations there are many more functions that can be performed on the control and which we will see in the later articles

ASP.NET repeater control - databind with style

even used the inline editing features, which I at the time thought was the coolest way possible to write ASP.NET code ( I managed to write code to hide all other rows and only show the current one - the row being edited). With a nice looking EditTemplate it looked indeed very slick but it really turned into giant and hard to manage code behind files.

Creating Paging for a Repeater Control

A common question is "How do I implement paging within a Repeater?" Although the beauty of the Repeater control is its flexibility, you're on your own for building most functions. ASP.NET 2.0 has included some new controls that provide paging, as does the DataGrid in ASP.NET 1.1. However, this tip shows you how to roll your own paging for a simple data viewer.

Using TemplateFields in the GridView Control

The GridView is composed of a set of fields that indicate what properties from the DataSource are to be included in the rendered output along with how the data will be displayed. The simplest field type is the BoundField, which displays a data value as text. Other field types display the data using alternate HTML elements. The CheckBoxField, for example, renders as a checkbox whose checked state depends on the value of a specified data field; the ImageField renders an image whose image source is based upon a specified data field. Hyperlinks and buttons whose state depends on an underlying data field value can be rendered using the HyperLinkField and ButtonField field types.
