.NET framework 4 installation issue. - Not working in SCCM task sequence

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 07, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

Hi ,

I am facing two issues with .NET framework 4.

1. Initially I have wrapped the .NET framework 4 redistributable with command lines /q /norestart using wise script editor. This does work manually, but when placed in the SCCM task sequence, it fails without any information.

2. To the above issue, I tried using MSIs for .NET framework 4 instllation. But the MSIs are not getting installed individually. On install they says problem with this windows installer.

Any ideas?

Microsoft .net framework 1.1 installation problem

Well I know there is numerous posts about .net framework 1.1 installation failure,I have searched through a lot of them.I failed to resolve my  problem so I am posting this.when I try to install .net framework 1.1 redistributable package which I downloaded from here it installs  .net framework version 1.0.3705 then when I want to install .net framework 1.1 service pack 1 downloaded from here which has the file NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe  it doesnt install showing the message  ''The upgrade patch can't be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing,or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.'' I have tried a lot of way to solve this including:using the stebner cleanup tool to erase all versions of framework then restarting  machine and reinstalling again but this way can't solve the problem, modifying registry etc.Other versions(1.0,2.0,3.0,3.5) are installing smoothly they are not creating problems only this fw 1.1.How can I resolve this issue. Please anyone help

Execute Package Task password issue

I have a parent and child package. Both are stored on the file system and both are password protected. My problem is that when I call the child package from the parent using execute package task, I get prompted for the child package's password. Now the PackagePassword property of the Execute Package Task is supposed to take care of that. But for some reason the password stored in the Execute Package Task is not getting passed to the child package.  I've re-entered the PackPassword property several times, but it did not help.  I even tried loading the password from a config file, but that did not make any difference.  Can anyone help?

FTP Task working in XP but not working in Windows 7/2008 machines

Hey , A FTP Task in IS pkg is working fine when executed through BIDS in my Win XP machine ..but the same package is not working in Win 7/2008 machine. FTP task fails with the error : [FTP Task] Error: Unable to connect to FTP server using "FTPFolder.TempData.com". Here are few facts about my troubleshooting : 1) From my XP machine... I am able to connect to the FTP Server using DOS Cmds but fails in 2008 machine saying "Unknown host" I did : Run>Cmd>FTP>Open FTPFolder.TempData.com 2) I can view the files on the FTP server through a browser ( URL was given )on both the machines with no issues. 3) I created Port exception for 20 & 21 Ports for 2008 machine ...still no luck. 4) When I PING the FTP server --Cmd>PING FTPFolder.TempData.com On XP Machine...though FTP Server Name is resolved to IP... I still receive "Request timed out." On 2008 Machine ...the IP is not even resolved and error is thrown "Ping request could not find host FTPFolder.TempData.com. Please check the name and try again." 5) I am connecting to FTP Server from my Office machines. I have searched all the threads on this FTP error topic and haven't found the apt thread..so I have opened a new one.

SQL Server 2008 Installation issue in Windows 7 64 bit

I'm trying to install SQL 2008, but an error message keeps appearing: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation has failed. SQL Server 2008 Setup requires .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed.   My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, so already has de .NET Framework 3.5, I turned on/off a lot of times and the same error occurs! I download the .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 from the links: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&displaylang=en http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en) But, when installing the Framework 3.5 or the SP1, I get the message: "Use turn on or off disable features in Windows control panel".   Someone can help me?! - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits - SQL Server 2008 Developer (x86, x64, ia64).   Thanks! SQL Server 2008 - Installation Woe - .NET Framework 3.5 SP1

On a Windows 2003 R2 x64 server, I have been unable to install SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition x64. When running setup.exe, I almost instantaneously receive the following Microsoft SQL Server Setup error:"Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation has failed.SQL Server 2008 Setup requires .NET Framework to be installed."What does not make sense is that I successfully downloaded .NET Framework 3.5 from the Microsoft download site (published 8/11/2008) prior to the SQL Server 2008 installation attempt.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=enI do need to note that a few nights ago, prior to downloading the framework (3.5 SP1), I ran the SQL Server 2008 setup executable. I was prompted that in order to install SQL Server 2008, the setup program needed to first install .NET 3.5 SP1 and Windows Installer 4.5. I let the .NET 3.5 SP1 install run for about 1.5 to 2 hours and cancelled (now I wish I had just let it go).It is my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) that the SQL Server 2008 setup program initially checks for any pre-RTM versions of .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework. If one is found, it is then supposed to guide the user through both the installation of the .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework and Windows Installer 4.5. I have removed .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework (Add/Remove programs) and rebooted. However, upon runni

New SP 2010 Installation - Can't Get User Profiles / Outlook / My Site stuff working.

Hello,   I have a new SP 2010 Installation. I did NOT set it up in Standalone mode. My users can log in and create their own My Sites. They can edit them, add content, etc. When using Outlook 2010, they add one another in the People Pane. It shows up under My Site > My colleagues that they are connected. However, in Outlook, the MySite icon in the People Pane has a red X on it. I thought that User Profile Sync Service might be the culprit after reading through various blogs. However, if I go to Central Administration > Manage Profile Service : User Profile Service Application... if I click Configure Synchronization Connections, the page comes up - "The query returns nothing." I try to click "Create New Connection"... I get an error message - Cannot navigate to the requested page while User Profile Synchronization is running. Please wait for the current Synchronization to finish.   OK - I thought that the query returned no results. I don't see the service running... can someone point me in the right direction?

.net framework 3.5 SP1 installation problems on Windows 7 x64

Hi everyone.  I'm having a big trouble installing .net framework 3.5 SP1 on my Windows 7 Professional (x64) OS.I've tried to install it but only thing it says is 'installation error' at the end of installation.  Strangely, it doesn't even give me an error code.I thought it could be having problem with previous versions of .net framework so I tried to varify this with the tool I've found on MSDN, and I only realized I couldn't verify any of .net framework product on my OS.  (neither of 2.0 3.0 or 3.5)This doesn't really make sense because I've freshly installed Windows 7 a week ago and not letting me install the program.  I've tried by doing web installation and tried to download the whole package and install it but still no luck.plus, i am not even sure if this varification program really works.. I wiped out 1.0 and 1.1 using cleanup tool and reinstalled 1.1, and it's still saying it is not installed.  And it even says i have 2.0 3.0 and 3.5 installed.......which i wasn't able to do..  any thoughts?[10/22/09,14:46:50] Beginning of new SetupVerifier activity logging session[10/22/09,14:46:50] Activity log file location: C:\Users\Jin\AppData\Local\Temp\setupverifier_main_10-22-09_14.46.50.txt[10/22/09,14:46:50] Error log file location: C:\Users\Jin\AppData\Local\Temp\setupverifier_errors_10-22-09_14.46.50.txt[10/22/09,14:46:50] Build created on October 19, 2009[10/22/

Task scheduler and System.IO.File.WriteAllText() not working properly

I have a simple console application that has this in mainline:  Console.WriteLine(System.String.Format("the current directory is: {0}", System.IO.Directory.GetCurrentDirectory())); System.IO. File.WriteAllText(@"test.txt", "new contents");   Console.ReadLine(); I compile this in VS 2010 and copy the EXE to a directory named "c:\test".  When I run this code in two different OS's via "Task Scheduler" and "Scheduled Task" I get different results.   In Windows Server 2003 R2 "Scheduled Task" this code will create a file as I would expect, c:\test\test.txt with the proper contents written to it.  When I run this same code on Windows 2008 R2 (64 bit version) "Task Scheduler" it writes the expected contents to an unexpected location, c:\C:\Windows\SysWOW64\test.txt. In both environments if I run the exe's from a command line, it writes to c:\test\test.txt as I would expect. As I understand it, if you don't fully qualify the file name in the first parameter of the WriteAllText method it will write the contents to the file in the directory of the executable however this seems to break down when running in the Windows 2008 Task Scheduler.  I know I can fully qualify the file name or put the expected path in a
