i write a site and get this error, i using VS2010.
i try run on my machine its all work fine, but when i complier and run it on Window server 2008 get this error.
I read http://forums.asp.net/p/1513402/3613239.aspx I install the ReportViewer.exe but still cannot find the Microsoft.ReportViewer.ProcessingObjectModel.dll, however I got find it Microsoft.ReportViewer.ProcessingObjectModel in C:\Windows\assembly and is not a dll file. any suggestion?
I finally got around to trying vs2010 and MVC 2 ... I'm glad I did not put them on a production computer.
My first compile (I have not had a chance to investigate because I just did this and I am too tired).
All I did was create a MVC 2 solution with MSTEST Unit Testing selected too.
I compiled it and get four unexpected errors (because I have heard ASP.NET MVC 2 "alpha" and vs2010 Beta 2 are supposed to be somewhat robust):
In both HomeController and AccountController:
"The type or namespace name "Controllers" does not exist ins the namespace "mvczzzzz001" occurs twice, once for HomeController.cs and once for AccountController.cs.
AccountControllerTest.cs has two errors: can not find "AccountController" namespace and can not find "IFormsAuthentication" namespace.
With ASP.NET MVC v1.0 there are errors when one uses xUnit.net (version at time of ASP.NET MVC v1.0 RTM) as the test framework but not errors with MSTEST (I prefer xUnit.net to MSTEST).
I am just so surprised to find such errors in vs2010 + MVC 2 ....
is this happening to anyone else?????????????????
Thank you ~~ regards, Gerry (Lowry)
I am using VS2010 Pro in 64 bit Windows 7. When I add a new item to a folder in an ASP.NET MVC2 project, VS frequently crashes with a "Visual Studio has stopped working" error and then closes down. If I re-open the project the item is not visible in the MVC project folder, (but it is visible to windows explorer although I think it's corrupted). If I then try to add the item again, it warns me that it already exists and asks to overwrite, choosing yes to overwrite usually works OK. When adding an .edmx item it is more problematic, I can't overwrite it but because I know that there actually is a file in the folder, (although not visible and albeit corrupted), I can add it as an existing item and then choose "update model from database" to get it to work. This error is happening more and more frequently.
I'm doing the samething in my two differents pc.
1) Windows 7, vs2010 rc, mvc 2rc2, .Net 3.5
2) Winodws xp, vs2008, mvc 2rc2, .Net 3.5
My Hosting is in GOdaddy IIS 7, .Net 3.5.
I created a new project in both computers, i build it, i copied the 3 dll's files in the bin folder (System.Web.Mvc, System.Web.Routing, system.Web.Abstractions), and i publish them...., i go to my website (www.luisbragagnolo) both same problem "Page Not Found"
I tried many blogs...many advices...nothing yet....
Any other new Advice people? Thankssssssss
After installing Visual Studio 2010 and Silverlight Tools for VS 2010, I tried to generate a new Silverlight project and got an error in the xaml designer.
None of the .xaml files generated by VS can be opened in design mode.
I have the KB30319.348 installed. The error is reproduced below:

I keep getting this error message all the time. The same code works in xp32+VS2010 C#, when I bring it to win7/64bit, the error message appears. It started when I have a picturebox added to my form and have a jpg file inside the picturebox. I got "System.BadImageFormatException"
a couple of times, I really don't know how to fix that to go ahead. I have checked some posts in this forum, some ones suggested set my application target platform to X86. I did set my target platform to x86, not working.
I am wondering if anything else I can try. Any help will be appreciated!
The error message is:

First I hope this is the correct forum for te below question, and if not, please excuse and if possible divert me to the correct place.
We have a TFS2010 setup with (what I managed to identify) Sharepoint Services 3.0.
We have 2 users working in the same collection, and also share some of the projects in it with the below problems:
1. User A has Office 2007. She is unable to "edit workbook" on an excel file directly from VS2010, and gets an error of 'Unknown error trying to lock file'. I searched this around and didn't find a solution, but did find a workaround - If she checks out
the file directly from the SharePoint site, she is able to edit the file, and in fact is able to later "edit workbook" directly from VS2010 (as long as she once checked it out through SharePoint).
2. User B has Office 2010. When he tries to "edit workbook", he gets an error of 'A problem occurred while connecting to the server. If the problem continues, contact your administrator'. When he goes directly to the SharePoint, he is able to check out the
file, open it in Excel 2010, but is not able to check it back in (gets an error that the file cannot be located or so, I don't have the exact error). This means that this user cannot work with the SharePpoint stored files at all, and currently works on local

when a user enters a bad email I am doing a check on this and throwing an exception message as follows, this works fine on the test site but for some reason the same code on the live site gives a "internal server error" (http code 500). The code below:
If isThisEmailValid(strEmailThatTheUserEntered) Then
Throw New Exception("You entered a bad email address.")
as always, thanks for your feedback
I am trying to install VS 2010 on Windows 7 Ultimate(X64) edition, but I am getting an error.I downloaded the VS2010 with MSDN subscription. Not sure how to resolve this.I installed SqlServer2008R2 and Sharepoint2010 on the same machine.
Kindly tell me where I am wrong.
I'm getting this error with Visual Studio 2010 (RTM) deploying to SharePoint 2010 (also RTM).
An "Empty SharePoint Solution" project with an OOB "Module" item added. Try to deploy and I get:
Error Occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Value cannot be null. Parameter name: s
The account I'm developing with has:
The WSP package is created successfully, and if I roll it out using STSADM then it works perfectly. For some reason though Visual Studio 2010 thinks that it cannot be deployed!
I made a cusomized masterpage in dev - based on the starter master pages of randy drisgill. They worked fine there. Used SP2010 designer export and import to live. Although I dont see them in SP designer, I see them in the MP gallery. Also tried dragging
them in the library while in SP designer, no luck.
I go over to the master page gallery on the live and try to check the new masterpages in, no such luck, an error. I check out blackband, try to check it in, same error. So it seems to have nothing to do with the masterpage i'm trying to check in. The SP2010
machine is an in-place upgrade. Which worked fine - after a visual upgrade though nothing seems to want to checkin anymore - also not on other libraries. This though was not the case in dev after visual upgrade.
Have a look at the ULS log here : http://twitpic.com/2vn3k2/full
I will revert to version 3 of the UI with powershell - but do hope to get to version 4 eventually.
Thanks for any tips
this is my first ASP.Net Project in Visual Studio 2010 (not the first in general). I wrote a lot of methods and now I want to design Users GUI. I put a Script Manager to the begin of my default.aspx (in a contentplaceholder) and want to use a updatepanel as I did earlier in Visual Studio 2008. So I drop an UpdatePanel from the AJAX Extensions toolbox on the site, but there is only a
rendering error with an unhandled exception shown.
Addionaly I registered Ajax Control Toolkit 4.0.
What is the difference between VS2008 and VS2010 for handling built in AJAX extensions? What could be the problem?
Thanks and best regards
