I know this is an old question ... "why does SharePoint take sooo long to load on first request" ... so here is our farm:-
2 WFE with Query Component on each Network Load Balanced
1 Index Crawl Server
1 Application Server
1 Sql Server
The farm is all virtually hosted within VMWare VShpere4; servers where built on a similar topology guide to that which MS recommends C, D, E etc.. Sql DB, Logs, System DB are all on seperate disks, servers all have atleast 2Vcpu 8gbRam two NIC cards.
We perform SPWarmUp on the WFE and APP server each morning, but still when I log in first thing it takes 30sec for the page to load... Dev Dashboard shows that the actual rendering only took 220ms, so looked at WFE IIS logs which show that I had two anonymous
GET requests (401) and a successfull (200) request 30 secs later to load the landing page.
Can someone tell me why there is the 30sec delay to authorise first user, or is this not the delay??
