SSMS Table designer does not script index filters

Hi,

In SQL Server Mgt Studio (SSMS 10.50.1600.1, SQL 10.50.1600), under the table designer, when a table has a filtered index on it, if the modification does need to rebuild the table, the filter is missing on the index.

To reproduce the bug:

-          Create a table

Can not create table via SSMS 2005 GUI even with dbowner rights (I can via ddl script)

I have SQL server 2005 client with SP3 (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio      9.00.4035.00).

Back end database is SQL server 2008 SP2

I can create/alter a table via sql script.
In the SSMS Database Designer (GUI), When I right click on the database >> Tables and select New Table I get the following error - "Unspecified Error. MS Visual Database Tools."

I was able to use SSMS 2008 client to create tables with out any issues. Looks like a compatibility issue between SSMS 2005 and SS 2008 server.  Has anyone seen this issue and if yes is there a fix for it ?

Thanks

SMO Table script generation performance

Hello,

currently I'm working on program for database compare. In this program I need to create scripts for databse objects. i found out that script generation is too slow but generating scripts using SSMS it's pretty fast. In one thread I have found, that SSMS uses for script generation SMO, but I couldn't find any suggestions for performance improvement.

Server srv = new Server(new ServerConnection("SERVER", "USERID", "PASSWORD"));
srv.SetDefaultInitFields(typeof(Table), true);
Database db = srv.Databases[database];
ScriptingOptions so = new ScriptingOptions();
so.AllowSystemObjects = false;
.
.
.
db.PrefetchObjects(typeof(Table),so);
.
.
.
foreach(Table tb in db.Tables)
{
  StringCollection sc = tb.Script();
  .
  .
  .
}

Interesting is that db.PrefetchObjects(typeof(Table),so) has almost no effect for script g

generate Table script using TSQL Sql Server

This code sample helps you to generate the Table script for the particular table. You can create the function and can generate the script by calling the function by passing the Table name as a parameter.

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

Using jQuery to Filter Table Rows

The project is using the .net GridView control, so I had limited control over the output HTML code. Still, I think this code can work for most tables. One thing to notice: you should use the class "filterable" on your table or on one of its parents for the code to work.

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers in asp.net

The RadioButtonList. Very handy for inviting users to select just one item from a list although because of the screen real estate it takes up, used less and less in favour of the DropDownList. In plain HTML, the browser knows to enforce the unique selected value amongst a list of radio buttons because they all have the same value for their name attributes.

RadioButton Groups, Table Rows And NamingContainers

(In which AJAX-enhanced CheckBoxes become more useful than RadioButtons but inheritance saves the day, and a simple RadioButton-derived control establishes the purpose of a control's naming container)

Building a 3-Tier App with Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Azure Table Storage

Silverlight 3, .NET RIA Services, and Windows Azure Services Platform makes a 3-tier Cloud application easier to build: Silverlight 3 as presentation tier, .NET RIA services as the business logic and data access tier, and Windows Azure Table as the data storage tier. The sample application in this article demonstrates the architecture with a simple Survey application with all these technologies working together from Windows Azure.
