AJAX update panel and update progress controls

I have writtena Crystal reports web application, that prompts ths user for parameters and then apply them and exports the report to a folder as .rpt and then display the report. I prompt the parameters on one screen and then display the report on another page. I have the AJAX update panel and update progress controls in the parameter page. When the user enters the parameters and click on ok, I export the report and then loads the report to a session report document and transfer the user to the second page where the report is displayed. I use the following code to do transfer to the seconds page. I have excluded the report load and parameter assign code here.rpt.ExportToDisk(ExportFormatType.CrystalReport, "c:\reports\testrep.rpt") Session("rpt") = New ReportDocument Session("rpt").load("c:\reports\testrep.rpt") Response.Redirect("show.aspx") In the second page I have the following: rptViewer.reportsource = Session("rpt") My problem is this works one time and then stops working the second. What I found out was it comes to the statement: Response.Redirect("show.aspx") But it does not even load the show.aspx page. It stays on the parameter page. There are no errors displayed. I could not see any errors when I debug the application also. And out of the blue it works

Create a progress bar based on progress of AJAX handler

I've got a plain C# web page that uses jQuery to call a handler page using AJAX. While the handler content is loading, a message "Please Wait, loading..." is displayed. Once I've got the content back from the handler I hide the loading message and display the content. What I'd like to do is after the loading message, display a percentage of how far through the handler page is. All the handler page does is loop through a list of members, powered by a web service, and adds them to the database so I know exactly how many members are being added to the database so I can tell how far I am through. The problem I'm having is because all of this goes on in a handler, how can I send the progress percentage back to the main web page while the handler was still loading.Any ideas? If I could do the exact same task but differently which would allow me to create the progress bar, I'd be happy to hear any suggestions.

Loading graphics without Ajax on submit and before Post Back

Hi, In order to maintain the view state information, I have decided not to use update panel for the loading image. Instead is there a way where I can simply make an image invisible, and display the image on click of the search button and hide it when the page post back again ?    Please advise.

How to force Ajax Control Toolkit scripts loading from CDN?

I moved my site to asp.net 4.0, and added ajax control toolkit 4.1.40412.0. Also on the page i added ToolkitScriptManager with attribute EnableCdn="true". But my site continues loading toolkit scripts from resources, not from CDN network. How to fix it?

Exception loading page with Ajax enabled WebPart/UserControl ?

The AjaxControl Toolkit has been configured onto our SharePoint 2007 Server, however when we bring up a page with a WebPart+UserControl, we get the following exception:

[4300] Exception Loading CPI RPI WebPart: System.Web.HttpCompileException: c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\a112516a\152cc84\App_Web_cpirpicalc.ascx.57bd6353.duu1hbuu.0.cs(138): error CS0433: The type 'AjaxControlToolkit.ToolkitScriptManager' exists in both 'c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\AjaxControlToolkit\3.5.40412.0__28f01b0e84b6d53e\AjaxControlToolkit.dll' and 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\a112516a\152cc84\assembly\dl3\4bec602a\25bcac65_13efca01\AjaxControlToolkit.DLL'

The userControl+Ajax Portion of the WebPart works correctly when brought up under ASP.NET but not SharePoint.

Is there anyway to force this to go to the correct version?

Ajax ToolKit not loading when open VS2008

Went to

And downloaded the the Toolkit then went to

And followd the instructions on installing the toolkit.

Then I used the toolkit in my VS2008 with no problem. The problem is that when I close the application I am working on in VS2008 and then re-open it in VS2008 I get the error

Error 1 Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit' or one of its dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.

Error 3 Unknown server tag 'asp:ToolkitScriptManager'

For every spot I have an Ajax control.

If I try to add an Ajax Control to the application I get

"The operation could not be completed. Invalid FORMATETC structure"

I do have the AjaxControlToolkit.dll in my Bin folder and I did a web reference to the dll also (I got those two peices of advice off the web)

The only fix I have is to delete the Ajax Toolkit tab in VS2008 and then add a new tab then do Choose Items... and re-choose the Ajax Toolkit dll I downloaded from CodePlex in the begining.

Ajax Toolkit not loading on Startup

I went to the Code Plex site and down load the latest toolkit. Then followed the instructions on how to set up the toolkit to the letter. When I first loaded the toolkit everything worked. But now every time I start up my computer and start VS all the AJAX controls I have on any page has the green squiggly line underneath it and the error says:

Element <AJAX Control Name> is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the web site, or the webconfig file is missing.

The only thing I can do is delete the Ajax Toolkit tab then add the tab again and then "Choose Items..." and load the Ajax controls again. Then I have to add an AJAX control from the toolkit to any webpage. Once that is done all the green squiggly lines go away and I can continue.

Image loading with AJAX

Hi everyone. I have not done any web development of note for a few years now, and I've been given a project to do.  I am considering using ASP.NET MVC, and jQuery to give me some AJAX functionality.  I will have an image on my main page, and on top of that, I will want to show images that are going to be PNGs with transparency.  I am expecting I can do that with a lightbox.  My main question is, these images are big.  I can't preload them all, but what I would like is, when a user selects an image to load, they get a loading icon, then when the image is loaded, they get some sort of transition that causes the image to appear nicely.  I see some stuff online that will help with that, except that it doesn't appear clear to me that anything I am seeing is able to show a wait icon, and start the animation when the image itself is actually loaded.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Microsoft AJAX CDN

Content delivery networks (CDNs) are composed of "edge cache" servers that are strategically placed around the world at key Internet network points. These "edge cache" servers can be used to cache and deliver all types of content - including images, videos, CSS and JavaScript files.

Using a CDN can significantly improve a website's end-user performance, since it enables browsers to more quickly retrieve and download content. For example, instead of having a browser request for an image traverse all the way across the Internet to your web server to download, a CDN can instead serve the request directly from a nearby "edge cache" server that might only be a single network hop away from your customer (making it return much faster - which makes your pages load quicker).

AJAX GridView Checkbox Select All in ASP.Net

In the previous article GridView Select Multiple Rows you learnt the multiple row selection in GridView control. Here you will get the C# code sample to select all the gridview rows using single checkbox server control. You can highlight the selected rows with different color and Font state Bold. AJAX GridView Paging and Sorting using C# in ASP.Net

To enable the GridView Paging and Sorting to update the GridView Data without refreshing the ASP.Net web page AJAX Extension controls are used. UpdatePanel is used to hold the GridView control that triggers the events for the controls placed inside it. By Default UpdatePanel triggers the asynchronous postbacks for its child controls.
