Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in '/GetEmployees'.

Hello and thank you for taking a moment. Let me say that I am brand new to Web Services. Please forgive my ignorance on some of these issues. I have created a web service in VS 2005.  When I go to run the code my web service description (test) pages come up fine.( These are the pages that give a description of the web service along with the available methods) I click on the name of one of the methods and come to the the page that lets me invoke that method.

When I click the 'invoke' button I receive a page not displayed error and when I refresh VS then throws me the following Error:

Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in '/GetEmployees'.

indeed the url of this page is http://localhost:1223/WebSite12/Service.asmx/GetEmployees

I just don't know what to do in order to get the method to give me the information I want. The book I am borrowing code from says it should work. Below is my asmx and codebehind. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.- Jason

How To Set a Date Format In GridView Using ASP.NET 2.0

A very common desire is to set a column of a gridview to display just the month, day and year of a DateTime type. The problem is the by default, the HtmlEncode property of the boundfield attribute (
The problem is that if this field is enabled, you can not pass format information to the boundfield control. That is, if you try the following code, you will not get the desired result.

How to format and update GridView and DataGrid rows using JQuery

The behavior described in this question is as expected. When you set text of a cell in grid, it directly affects HTML that is going to be rendered. When you set text value of a cell, it means that you are setting innerText of the cell. The column that GridView creates for command fields (Edit, Delete and Select) are a (anchor) or button elements. So you can see what will happen if you set text value in that cell. It will wipe out those link or button controls and replace them with simple text string.

How to format datetime & date with century?

Format Generic List Bound to Gridview

I have a generic list of a custom type. The custom type has a string and double.

I'm binding the list to a gridview and it outputs everything fine.

I'm trying to format the double column into a currency format. It is in a template field as I'm calculating a running total. I pass the value to a function that returns a double and adds the current value to a running total which I will show in the footer.

The format is not changing to currency as expected when using String.Format("{0:c}", GetTotal(Convert.ToDouble(Eval("Amount"))))

Any ideas on what might be going on and how to fix this?

Thanks!

Error: Encountered multiple versions of the same assembly with GUID...try pre-importing...TlbImp

Hi!  Can someone tell me how I can troubleshoot the following error: "Encountered multiple versions of the same assembly with GUID...try pre-importing one of these assemblies".

The website developed in VS 2010 (.Net 3.5). This error is only received on my workstation.  Another person developing the site does not experience this issue at all.  Also, not sure if this matters, but on my workstation the 'Assembly Information...' dialog contains no values even though the 'AssemblyInfo.vb' file does specify values for the title, desc, etc.  The GUID being referenced in the error is the main project of the three projects within the solution.

I tried looking through the GAC, but do not see any references to the projects or DLLs in the VS solution and am not sure what else/where to look.

If I delete the copy of the solution on my local machine and pull down a copy from source control (AnkhSVN) the solution will build with no error.  Once I make any changes, such as adding a new aspx file, then the error is received.

I can provide any additional information needed.

Advanced Serialization: Format Your Way to Success with the .NET Framework Versions 1.1 and 2.0

While .NET offers adequate support for the simple serialization cases, issues arise when you're attempting to support delegates and subscribers, versioning, and class hierarchies. . In addition, the introduction of generics in The .NET Framework breaks new ground in the complexity of the serialization task and the power of serialization tools. This article discusses these issues and related pitfalls, suggests techniques and workarounds that address them, and recommends when and how to best use the new serialization abilities.

Inside Windows: An In-Depth Look into the Win32 Portable Executable File Format, Part 2

The Win32 Portable Executable File Format (PE) was designed to be a standard executable format for use on all versions of the operating systems on all supported processors. Since its introduction, the PE format has undergone incremental changes, and the introduction of 64-bit Windows has required a few more. Part 1 of this series presented an overview and covered RVAs, the data directory, and the headers. This month in Part 2 the various sections of the executable are explored. The discussion includes the exports section, export forwarding, binding, and delayloading. The debug directory, thread local storage, and the resources sections are also covered.
