When installing, when the database services point comes it gives an error about user thing...and then installation starts to rollback...
I check the IIS configuration from the net...And see that while activating IIS there is no option for Windows Auth. in Home Premium in Control Panel>Program...>Windows Programs.....etc....

We have an MSDN copy of the SQL server 2008 R2 standard edition which we have installed in production environment. We have subsequently bought a licensed copy of MS SQL server 2008 r2 Standard edition. Using the feature Maintenance and Edition
Upgrade in SQL setup, we have updated the licensed product key information of the SQL server 2008 R2 from licensed setup file in production environment. We wanted to know how to view the licensed product key information from the server. Also we wanted to check
if we have completed the process and we are legally using the software
Query: select serverproperty('LicenseType'),serverproperty('NumLicenses') Is always returning “Disabled” and “NULL” before and after using Edition upgrade with valid license details.
How to create a virtual directory and get benefit of the IIS. Is there a workaround to accomplish this without the Windows Authentication for Windows 7 Home Premium Edition?
Thanks in advance,
I need to get a list of programs/files that were installed when I was trying to install VWD 2008 so I can go through and remove them. The installation did not actually install the main part of the program so I can't start with removing Microsoft VWD 2008 (a folder was created in Program files but it is empty. I found this (below) but I'm not sure that it applies. I don't want to remove programs/files that are being used by other programs. (I can't just try to install again because there is not enough room on my hard drive)

Recently I had a weird problem while trying to install SQL Server Reporting Service in my local PC. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and I wanted to configure SSRS in my PC. During the installation, the setup wizard listed all the services that we want to install and I found that only Reporting Server checkbox option was disabled and I wondered why??? I thought it may be becuase of some installation problem and tried again and its useless... I googled lot of sites for 3 days and finally found that due to some IIS issues, it is not possible to install Reporting Server in Vista Home Premium version. Reporting Server needs some specific IIS features to be installed in the machine.
But unfortunately those features are not available for Home Premium users which in term restricts users not to install reporting server in our PCs... Also, Microsoft has accepted it as an issue and its not possible to get it install in Home Premium...just wanted to share and might be useful for someone like me.
