Hi I have an access database linked to a SQL 2008 back end, in the last few weeks I have start to get the following error when the users try to update a particular form.
ODBC--Update on Linked Table Bill Phonenum Add Failed.

[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][Sql Serer]The incoming tabular data stream (TDS) remote procedure call (RPC) protocol stream is incorrect. Parameter 2 (""):data type 0X00 is unknown. (#8009)

I have searched for a fix for this but I can not find one, the error is inconsistent as it does not happen every time and seems to have moved, when it was first reported it was on a numeric field but it was reported yesterday on a bit field.
even more strange is the fact that if you go to the form change one bit field it does not happen, it

Incomplete/truncated data Serialized to disk. Error:End of Stream encountered before parsing was com

Greetings!! i have a dataset which is constantly serialized & deserialized by multiple threads (in a thread safe manner using lock statement) using System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary.BinaryFormatter (.net 2.0). The Code below works pretty fine but in some rare scenarios it gives the above exception while deserializing. public void SerializeData(string path, DataSet currentData) { dataStream = new FileStream(path , FileMode.Create, FileAccess.ReadWrite); try { biFormatter.Serialize(dataStream, currentData); } finally { dataStream.Flush(); dataStream.Close(); } } DataSet DeserializeData(string path) { dataStream = new FileStream(path , FileMode.Open, FileAccess.ReadWrite); DataSet storedDataSet = new DataSet(); storedDataSet.Locale = CultureInfo.InvariantCulture; try { storedDataSet = (DataSet)biFormatter.Deserialize(dataStream); } finally { dataStream.Close(); } return storedDataSet; } When i observed the serialized file i realized the file had some in incomplete/truncated data. The truncated file loo

'TDS Protocol stream is not valid' error when running SQL Server 2008 with jdbc driver of version

I am using SQL Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and one of our servers running as a windows service (on Windows Server 2008 R2) contacts the SQL Server 2008 in a timely fashion to get some information. During one of these runs, we encountered the following error logs in the service logs and thereby we took a hit in serving client requests. The jdbc jar that is used for database connectivity is of version 3.0 (sqljdbc.jar).

I can provide more details on this issue. Can someone please let us know why this can be occurring ? Just so you know, the set of errors repeats itself after sometime although on a different JDBC Connection (with different ConnectionID). We have a reconnection algorithm running in case the JDBC Connection is lost for some reason (but I would be surprised if this issue relates to the re-connect algorithm).

HttpWebResponse.getResponseStream(): Stream sometimes does not deliver received data from HttpRespon

Hi,

I have a problem with chunked encoding. We want to keep up a http connection between a JBOSS 5.1 server and a .Net Client using chunked encoding by responding periodically with short from the server upon a http client request.

The server delivers a http response with chunked encoding.
The ResponseStream should deliver each received chunk part immediatly, see code below.

With wireshark I can verify the server sends each chunked packet and the .NET client sends an ACK message (on TCP level)

File Stream Class

I am trying to write to a text file while protecting it from concurrent access. What is the advantage of fileStream.lock ? (when I created a filestream in the code below, the file seemed to be protected from other processes using it). I am not sure if I need to use filestream.lock below. Please advise ..            Public Shared Sub writeToLogFile(ByVal logMessage As String)         Try             Dim strLogMessage As String = String.Empty             Dim strLogFile As String = System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~/Log.txt")             Dim swLog As StreamWriter             strLogMessage =  DateTime.Now.ToLongTimeString().ToString() & " ==> " & logMessage             Dim fileStream As New FileStream(strLogFile, FileMode.Append)            ' Lock all of the file after creating the filestream object             fileStream.Lock(0, fileStream.Length)      &nb

Data Source View Gives incorrect Error--Different Data Type

Hi, I'm creating a report model (2008 R2).  I am trying to create a relationship between two tables.  One FKs to another--same name and type (tinyint) columns.  But the Data Source View editor doesn't allow this, giving the message "...source and destination column have different data types".  But the columns are the same types.  I ahd this once before  acouple of years ago and don't remember how I got around it. Does anyong have ideas?

InputStream.Read cannot read from stream

I am trying to read a file uploaded, parsing it to a byte array. But the problem is, it never gets read. When I debug it, the byte array will still have zero elements. int FileLength = File1.PostedFile.ContentLength; if (File1.PostedFile != null && File1.HasFile) { Stream fStream = File1.PostedFile.InputStream; byte[] contents = new byte[fStream.Length]; <strong>File1.PostedFile.InputStream.Read(contents, 0, FileLength);</strong> SPAttachmentCollection attachments = enquiry.Attachments; attachments.Add(fileName, contents); enquiry.Update(); } Problem occurs at the InputStream.Read. Afte that line, when i point to contents, it';s still zero. When I open the attachment in browser, it;s opened as a corrupt file or a red cross image.

Converting to stream after resize for SQL Insert

Hey guys,I'm running with this. Public Function ImageData(ByVal fu As FileUpload) As Byte() If fu.HasFile Then Dim imageBytes As Byte() = New Byte(fu.PostedFile.InputStream.Length) {} fu.PostedFile.InputStream.Read(imageBytes, 0, imageBytes.Length) Return imageBytes Else Return Nothing End If End Function Public Function ImageResize(ByVal fu As FileUpload) As Bitmap Dim thumbWidth As Integer = 1024 Dim image As System.Drawing.Image = image.FromStream(fu.PostedFile.InputStream) 'Create a System.Drawing.Bitmap with the desired width and height of the thumbnail.
