Posted By:      Posted Date: October 06, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi All,

After i developed a custom project server workflow using vs 2010, i tried to deploy it using this article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff459292.aspx and everything done great (Add, Install and Activiate) .. when i tried to debug from VS 2010 i got this error while deploying the project:

Error 6 Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Feature with Id 'c34364d9-0323-4e46-98c1-d74f638e6c7d' is not installed in this farm, and cannot be added to this scope.
  0 0 WorkflowProject1

i'm pretty sure that the Guids are the same ... and i got the same error when i tried to activate the feature from VS 2010 directly

How add custom form field in workflow task using visual studio 2010

custom workflow visual studio 2010 for SharePoint 2010

Hi Everybody,

I have written a custom workflow in visual studio 2010 with custom Task Edit Form which is associated with content type and that content type is in turn associated with Task List. When an item is created in the target list to which my custom workflow is attached, a task item is created when I click on that task item it loads the custom Task Edit Form page where I have defined the UI and on click of Approve button I just Alter the task by using method SPWorkflowTask.AlterTask(this._TaskListItem, taskHash, true); when this line executed it executes the Task Changed invoked method where I am taking true and false value from the UI and updates the corresponding metadata in target list.

The problem is when I create 2 target list items their workflow status becomes pending and when I approve one of them, both the items get approved i.e. Task Changed event get called 2 times and both line items workflow status become completed. The task list item corresponding to one approved get 100% completed but other one did not show its completion.

How to add Sharepoint dll reference to Windows Forms application project in Visual Studio 2010?

Hi,I am using Windows Forms application template in Visual Studio 2010 Beta. I created this for some R & D work. Now I am using Sharepoint object model in application. When I am trying to add Sharepoint dll reference from .NET tab, I can not see Windows Sharepoint Services there Which was available in Visual Studio 2005.Also If I am add this sharepoint dll from ISAPI folder (14 Hive), it is added succesfully, but it is not taking actually in project and showing me an error during running mode that theError 12 The type or namespace name 'SharePoint' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft' (are you missing an assembly reference?) Please suggest me how to add Sharepoint dll reference in Windows forms application in Visual Studio 2010?

Need help deploying SP2010 Document Converter using Visual Studio 2010

I have created an SP 2010 Document Converter app, which seems to work fine in all respects except it doesn't seem to be converting documents in SharePoint. I think there is a problem with the way that I'm deploying the converter executable to the server, but I am having trouble finding the specific issue.

Some notes:
* SP 2010 sees the document converters in my Elements.xml file and is making them available in Sharepoint.
* When I tell SP2010 to convert a document using one of my Converters, I can tell that the service is trying to do *something* in the Central Administration console (job shows up with progress bar and sits there for a while). I have no idea what it's actually doing during that time though.
* All of my executable and executable DLLs have been defined in VS2010 as having "Application Resource" Deployment Types - not sure if this is right because the MS SP2010 SDK info doesn't seem to give much guidance on this subject. VS 2010 is deploying all of the appropriate executable files to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\resources\PDFDocumentService\DocumentConverter\". I have no idea if this is a sensible location for document converter executable files. When I try to run my executable in this location from the command line, it works fine.

My guess is that there's a disconn

Missing Custom Control Library Project Template in Visual C# 2010 Express?

I am using Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express Version 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel and I want to add a Project for a WPF Custom Controls library. Note: The WPF Custom Control Item Template is included and can be added to a WPF Application project.

Does anyone know:

  1. Should the WPF Custom Control Library Template be part of this application edition?
  2. Where is the online documentation that states exactly which features are and are not included in each edition?
  3. What can be recomended as a work around?

Can't add MDF file to Visual Studio 2010 Silverlight example project.

I have Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate.  And I've downloaded and installed Sql Server 2008 R2 Express.

I'm going through a Silverlight trainging module and using the

Silverlight Business Apps: Module 2 - WCF RIA Services

example application.  The database included (as an .mdf file) won't attach in the project.  I get this:

"Connections to SQL Server database files (.mdf) require SQL Server 2005 Express or SQL Server 2008 Express to be installed and running on the local computer.  The current version of SQL Sever Express can be downloaded at the following URL:......"

But of course, I have the most recent version.  Now I did have SQL Server 2005 Express Edition installed before and it wasn't working either.  I got a different error concerning the version of the .mdf file.  In an attempt to resolve this I un-installed the 2005 version.  Now I've got a functioning default instance of Sql Server, but I notice it's not listed as .\SqlExpress as the 2005 version was.

Can someone help me get this working?  Do I need to change the name of the SQL Server instance in order to for Visual Studio to be able to attach?

I also can't attach the file using SQL Server Management Studio, but I think that's because the file has the path to the Log file somehow

Deploying SSRS Reports from Visual Studio 2010 to Report Manager 2008

Our Report server is using Report Manager 2008. Previously I would load reports to it that I created via BIDS. Now I have to use VS 2010. I see that I can build and deploy reports there. Can I send it from VS 2010 to the REport manager 2008 on the other machine? I should add that now i have to develop on laptop only before i was on the server.

If not what are my options? I recall that vs 2005 objects were not taken in Report manager 2008.
