Anyone know why the "&" sign gets transformed to "&" and doesn´t get encoded when used in a term in

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 06, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

We hava a term in the Managed Metadata application that has a "&" sign in it. This "&" sign gets a really weird formatting, actually the regular "&" sign that i type gets transformed to "&" sign. This sign doesn´t get encoded. Hence when we get a xml search result from Search.asmx with this field in the xml result we get an error. Invalid xml document. It is because this sign doesn´t get encoded.

Is this only in my environment??? How can my "&" sign get transformed to "&" and then the system can´t handle that sign?!! (retoric question) :)

Passport Secure Sign-In: Provide Your Users with Secure Authentication Capabilities Using Microsoft

Secure sign-in, a new feature in version 2.0 of the .NET Passport single sign-in and profile service, is a functionality that will be especially useful for sites containing confidential information or anywhere security is a primary concern. Such sites include banks, medical sites, and so on. Secure sign-in is as safe as any SSL-based Web site login used today and provides a way to virtually eliminate vulnerability to replay and dictionary attacks. This article explains secure sign-in and demonstrates how you can implement this feature with very little effort in either ASP using the Passport.Manager COM object or in ASP.NET using the .NET class PassportIdentity.

Infopath cannot load this form. Either the signature is corrupted, or the certificatie used to sign

I have a whole bunch of forms contains errors like whenever you try to open it up.

Infopath cannot load this form.  Either the signature is corrupted, or the certificatie used to sign this form is expired or revoked.

The forms were orginally created with digital signature with it.  But we were in the middle of transition from one company to another company.  The digital signature was no longer valid.  Actually, the certificate should have been expired by now.  I removed all the signatures for all of the forms.  So they can continue using the forms to fill in the information.  The problem right now, is trying to open the old forms with digital signature on it.   Not only the company has changed.  We also moved sharepoint from the old server to the new server.

Any idea to resolve th

Sign out issue with IE7 of MOSS application.

I have a sign out issue with my moss application in IE7:

1) When I log in and attempt to log out immediately, the log out function hiding behind this drop down menu did not work.it left me logged in.The logout does not in fact log out the user.

2) When i click sign in as different user, it logs out the user and cant sign in again using same browser page , i need to restart the browser.

Am not able to fix this issue actually, might be we need to make some changes in internet options or something???

I do not know what really is happening.

Sign outgoing body from client with custom endpoing behavior defined in code

I'm trying to sign (and sign only) the body of every outgoing message that uses this custom endpoint behavior.  When I first created this it was for signing a custom SOAP header.  We are moving away from that and going to just sign the body.  We have some applications that have 10+ web service references.  We don't want to touch the reference.cs for anything.  Below is the code I had before for signing the custom soap header.  I'm trying to modify it to just sign the body.  My modified code is below, and the error I get. Private Class CustomHeaderBehavior Implements ServiceModel.Description.IEndpointBehavior Public Sub New() End Sub Private Sub AddBindingParameters( _ ByVal endpoint As ServiceModel.Description.ServiceEndpoint, _ ByVal bindingParameters As ServiceModel.Channels.BindingParameterCollection) _ Implements ServiceModel.Description.IEndpointBehavior.AddBindingParameters Dim body As New Xml.XmlQualifiedName("Body", "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/") Dim BodyMsgPartSpec As New ServiceModel.Security.MessagePartSpecification() BodyMsgPartSpec.IsBodyIncluded = True Dim requirements As ServiceModel.Security.ChannelProtectionRequirements = bindingParameters.Remove(Of ServiceModel.Security.ChannelProtectionRequirements)() requirements

MVC, Single-Sign-On and Roles

I have basic Single Sign-On working across 2 MVC sites (call them SiteA and SiteB) using something along the lines of the following method:http://forums.asp.net/p/1023838/2614630.aspxThey are on sub-domains of the same domain and share hash\encryption keys etc in web.config. I've modified the cookie so it is accessible to all Sites on the same domain. All of this seems to be working ok.The sites are on seperate servers without access to the same SQL database, so only SiteA actually holds the user login details. SiteB has a membership database, but with empty users. This works fine for my required scenario which is:1) User logs into SiteA2) The application loads data from SiteA (by AJAX) and SiteB (by AJAX using JSONP)I have the following LogOn Action on my AccountController for SiteA, which is where the "magic" happens: [HttpPost] public ActionResult LogOn(LogOnModel model, string returnUrl) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { if (MembershipService.ValidateUser(model.UserName, model.Password)) { FormsService.SignIn(model.UserName, model.RememberMe); //modify the Domain attribute of the cookie to the second level of domain // Add roles string[] roles = Roles.GetRolesForUser(model.UserName); Http

Problems with the & symbol in the term store management

Hi, I encountered a strange error in the production environment of one of our customers. The ‘&’ symbol is being shown, in the term store management, as this ‘?’ symbol. In our test environment this problem does not occur. Did anyone else encounter this issue? I am really curious what causes it. Thanks in advance for the help.

Single Sign On to external system via iView?

I have Page iView in the SharePoint 2010. I have another non MS based external system where I should make integration. iView is great, but I need authentication as well. Both SharePoint and external system have SSO account mapping?Kenny_I

400 error on WCF service with encoded ampersand in uri

I have a WCF Service defined with this attribute:   [WebInvoke(Method = "GET", UriTemplate = "someType/{someType}/value/{someValue}", ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] When I make a get request with a value that has an encoded ampersand in it (http://myserver/vd/service.svc/someType/thisType/value/someValue%26toFind), I get a 400 error. When attaching with a debugger and setting a breakpoint, it never hits that code.  It appears that having the %26 in the uri is causing it to not correctly match the template. Some extra things that I have tried is to escape the escaped ampersand %2526, with the same result.  If I remove the %26 (or replace wtih %20 or just about any other encoded symbol I could find), it works fine.   Any thoughts on what might be causing this? This is on Windows XP with .net 3.5 SP1 and visual studio 2008.   Thanks. An additional note: No error appears in the tracelog and I can find no trace of anything in any other logs.

Taxonomy term store additions via site setting are not visible to user in RC1

Is see that its possible to define Taxonomy term store via SharePoint main central  admin page. But when I try to add term store entries via a new site in the same collection ....  site setting -> Site Administration -> Term store management any new entries are not visible. That is to say when a user starts to enter a tag the helper dialog does not show any values added via the site but all values add via the central admin do appear. this seems like a bug and the is in RC1 or am I doing something wrong

Customizing Sign In Page

I have a claims based site with the default sign in page. I would like to force my users to login using forms and not have the option for windows. I don't want to write an entire new sign in page to do this. Is there a way to disable the drop down list and force the selection to forms? Thanks.
