System account randomly creates documents

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 06, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

The System Account randomly creates a document called template.doc, which is an empty word document.  This happens when a document is uploaded or modified, but not all the time.  We are monitoring and removing these templates whenever we find them, but this is not a solution. Please advise!

Sharepoint site collections accessible only by system account

I I have setup a VM to start palying with SP development, everything running under administrator (sql, sharepoint services....). After succefully creating the root on port 80 and a couple of site collections, whenever I shoot IE http://mymoss or any othe site collection, I go right away to the web site without the usual authentification dialog box. On the right jand side, I see I am logged in as "System account". When I try to "sign in as a different user", enter domain\administrator, who is owner, the dialog box just keeps coming back and I can not log. . Thanks in advance

How to change the System Account into Domain Administrator account in Sharepoint?

I'm attaching the captured image from the Central Admin of our Sharepoint Server. (http://www.experts-exchange.com/images/346242/Central-Admin.jpg) As you can see from the Central Admin image, the user account shown is "System Account", in whereas I logged in as our Domain Administrator. Then when you check it's info from My Settings, the details from the captured image System Account Info was shown. ( http://www.experts-exchange.com/images/346243/System-Account-Info.jpg) How can I change it as be DOMAIN\Administrator & not SHAREPOINT\system or System Account? Please advise...

what happens with the sharepoint documents of a concrete user when you delete his user account DA

Code Execution under System Account

Hi,

I am trying to run a item event handler. Some of the users will not be having the permissions to execute the code, hence I am trying to run the code under the system account, regardless of the user signed in.

This is the code I have tried:
SPUser user = SPContext.Current.Web.AllUsers[@"SHAREPOINT\SYSTEM"];
SPUserToken superToken = user.UserToken;
 using (SPSite site = new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Web.Url, superToken))
 {

}
I would like to execute my code block to all the users. Hence I had tried to use the System Account. But when I try to execute the code, I am getting error as "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." when the code is trying to execute the below line:
SPUser user = SPContext.Current.Web.AllUsers[@"SHAREPOINT\SYSTEM"];
How to execute the code using System Account, so that all users have the rights.

Thank you

Sharepoint Designer worflow dont start due to infopath "system account" submission

After lot of search i was able to submit the browser enabled infopath form to sharepoint library as anonymous user using following link

http://blog.metrostarsystems.com/2009/06/04/anonymously-submit-infopath-form-to-sharepoint-library/

but the form submit as system account, which makes the sharepoint designer workflow not working on the forms library.

so can any body help me in resolving the code to impersonate user in the infopath submit button.

NT Authority \System Account Having SysAdmin Server Role

Looking to tighten security access to a SQL Server 2008 instance based on Windows 2003 Server clusters.

Is their any downside risk to revoking the sysadmin role from this account?  We've established all our services to run under domain service accounts we had set up.

Are there features or functions in SQL 2008 that depend on this account being present and having elevated priviledges?

thks

Task List Modified by showing system Account

I need to track the users who has approved the Workflows.

sharepoint 2007 showing System Account instead of Username / full name

When i login with my username & password into sharepoint (2007) site, it displays as a "System Account" instead of my username or my full name on the top right corner of the website. What ever changes i make inside the site, for example upload a file, post a comment, sharepoint marks it as a System account instead of my name.

Can someone help me figure it out why ?

Thanks.

Setup a login account for system backup, but now allow accessing data

Dear All,

     My problem seem quite contradiction. Not sure it's possible to do. My question is we used a symmatic software to backup our SQL databases. It require an admin right SQL user account to perform it. However some of database is quite sensitive e.g HR data. I don't want to let the IT staff to make use of this privilege to read the data. Is there any solution on this?

Best Rdgs

stsadm change in 2010? login as system account problem

Hey,

I have installed SharePoint 2010 beta 2 on a HP Blade in a Domain Environment. SQL Server 2008 SP1 CU2 is on a seperate Blade. Installation and configuration went ok. Everything runs under my Domain-Admin Account (SQL, Farm, ...)

The first few sites went smooth, after a while i noticed that not my Domain-Admin Account was written in the top-right corner, but "System Account". I remembered that problem from MOSS 2007 and tried stsadm updatefarmcredentials. Result after 30 seconds of waiting:
Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: farm

To be exactly i tried: stsadm -o updatefarmcredentials -userlogin XXX -userpassword XXX

There is definatly no typo and i tried varios different things like with "" and without "", with -identitytype and withou, and so on..

When i change the Farm-Account at the GUI, to a normal Account, i see my Domain-Admin Account in the top right corner again instead of System Account. When i change back, the same problem occurs.

Im pretty sure i resolved the issue in 07 with the command written above. Did the syntax change? Do i have to use Powershell? It looks like i have to specify the farm somehow (even thou there is only one farm consisting of one server on which im running the command)

Of course i'd be happy for any other solution to th

windows service creates a tmp file under service account user

We have a WCF windows service. We install this service with service account say e.g. WCF_ServiceAcc

When we start the service a tmp file gets created under the service account.

Sometimes this files grows bigger and the service stops working.

Do let us know why this is happening?

Regards.

Document becomes locked as Read only by System Account

I have a document library in SP2010 where a document has been checked out by "System Account" and locked as Read Only.

Logged in with site collection administrator credentials (which also have full control in the web app via policy) I am not able to edit, check in, discard checkout, administratively force check in, or delete the document. I am able to open it in read only mode in both the client and Office Web Apps. This library does have a standard, OOB approval workflow attached. The WF is not customized. I see that the Workflow Timer Job becomes set to "Paused" when this runs.

I have tried cancelling the the workflow tasks and terminating the workflow. But, it does not release the check out by System Account or the read only status.

I logged in as the Farm Admin account, which is recognized as System Account, and tried all these things, but still no results.

I have cycled the SharePoint Timer service, but this didn't alleviate either the check out status or the read only lock.

I have restarted the WFE server and the SQL server. But, the check out and lock remain.

I do not have the option of deleting this document library as there is too much content to manage. This is only a single document in the library, not all the documents in the library
