Wiki page uneditable after in-place upgrade to SP 2010

Posted By: Posted Date: October 06, 2010 Points: 0 Category :SharePoint

Hi,

I have recently upgraded (In-place) SharePoint 2007 farm to SharePoint 2020 farm. Everything went well except the Wikipages libraray.

The Wiki library page are upgraded & render properly in SP 2010 but they are not editable. The Edit|History|Incomming links tool bar doesnt appear on upgraded WIKI pages and hence no one can edit them.

I would highly appreciate if some one can help me resolve this issue.

SharePoint Wiki pages non editable after in place upgrade to SharePoint 2010

Hi,

We recently upgraded SharePoint 2007 SP2 farm to SharePoint 2010 farm uisng in-place upgrade. The upgrade was successful execept the Wiki pages library pages showing unusal behavior.

All the content in Wiki pages library under the SP 2007 site were upgraded to Wiki pages library under the same site after upgrade to SP 2010. But the WIKI tool bar is not showing the Edit button on Wiki pages and hence the Wiki content is non editable.

We did not receive any error or informtaional message in the pre-upgradecheck on prior to upgrade.

I would highly appreciate if some could help get the issue resolved.

Thanks

Show wiki page library columns on wiki pages- SharePoint 2010

I created a wiki page library in SharePoint 2010 and added a few columns to the library. However, these columns do not show on the actual wiki pages as they did in SharePoint 2007. I looked through the library settings but didn't find anything to turn on this feature. Does anyone know how to do this or if this feature was even included in SharePoint 2010? Thanks.

SharePoint 2010 in place upgrade "Cannot complete the action"

I currently did an inplace upgrade to SharePoint 2010 Standard in a medium farm deployment with one WFE and a remote SQL server with one site collection. The upgrade process was marked as finished in CA. The problem now is with the root site in the site collection is throwing the error "Cannot complete the action". I've narrowed it down to the "Pages" library in the the root site. The root site is using site template id = 20 template name = SPS#0, and template title = SharePoint Portal Server Site. If I hard code the URL in IE address bar I can get everywhere on the root site including the settings page of the "Pages" library. The error is thrown when I try to access the "Manage Permissions" link of the "Pages" library or when I try to browse to http://<rootsite>/pages/default.aspx. I believe the default.aspx page was customized by the customer when they were on SharePoint 2007 Standard.

Adding a custom control to the SharePoint 2010 Team Site Wiki Page Template ( wkpstd.aspx ) programm

Topic This is maybe my last post about the Team Site Wiki Page customization with the aim of exceeding its limitations. This time we are going to customize the unique template ( wkpstd.aspx) by replacing the control that renders the editable content by a custom one. In this post example, we will take advantage of the use of this custom control to render not editable additional contents, for instance, a header and a footer that could be the same for a specific Wiki Page Library. Of course, we are not going to really customize the template, but we are going to use a delegate control to replace the control at runtime. Here are the screen shots of the result: We can see a non editable Header and Footer on the Team Site Wiki Page In edit mode these additional contents are not rendered, but we can add new content as usual And of course, after having saved the page, the new content is rendered wtih the non editable Header and Footer. Steps required If you look at the Team Site Wiki Page template, wkpstd.aspx, you can see the control that is rendering the editable content/ <SharePoint:EmbeddedFormField ID="WikiField" FieldName="WikiField" ControlMode="Display" runat="server" /> We are first going to create a custom EmbeddedFormField control Then, we are going to use a delegate control to replace the native EmbeddedFor

SharePoint 2010 in-place upgrade fails

Hello,

I have tried the in-place upgrade in a test site and its fails. When I remove the SSP the upgrade was succesfull.

In the error log there is a backup device reference 'C:\DATA\slq_Backup\INT_SharedServices_DB_backup.dat'. This file is missing now. Maybe this is a previous config, but I can't remember it. In the SQL Server 2008 I have not found any backup device. We use third partly backup solution. I don't know where the corresponding backup file is configured.

Error log:

Migrating 2007 Wiki to 2010, many pages are now uneditable. help?

We've recently applied to upgrade to 2010 on our SharePoint site. We've noticed though, that most of the pages in our wiki library no longer allow web-editing in the browser. I assume this is because some of the code in these pages was 'custom'. In SharePoint Designer, the pages that do not allow editing have this message under Customization Status:

This file has custom page markup.

The pages that are editable have this message:

This file is based on a file from the site's definition.

Is there any easy way to convert the old pages into proper site definition, editable pages? I've tried selecting the message at the top of each problem page that reads: The current page has been customized from its template. Revert to template.

but this only ends up with an error message when trying to revert:

Error

Cannot revert to the site definition version of this file. It is a c

Can the Best Practices link on the SharePoint 2010 Upgrade home page get fixed?

The Best Practices link on the SharePoint 2010 Upgrade page goes to a page in SPS2003

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd586633%28office.11%29.aspx

Any chance of getting that fixed, so it goes somewhere to talk about upgrading to SharePoint 2010?

Link title: Best Practices for Ensuring Application Reusability and Upgrade in Windows SharePoint Services

Drops you right into SPS2003 documentation.

Seems an embarrassing bug.

Upgrade/Migrate MOSS 2007 Wiki to SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Wiki

We've been running MOSS 2007 for a few years now and have built up a Wiki.

I am now investigating the migration to SharePoint 2010, I've used the database attach method to copy across our Intranet site collection to a development SharePoint 2010 install (this includes our Wiki).

This works except for an error under the "Recent Changes" heading and the new 2010 Enterprise Wiki features are not available.

What I'm trying to find out is if there is a way to either upgrade the Wiki sub-site or migrate the Wiki data into a new 2010 Wiki sub-site that I can swap for the live one.

I've tried to just copy the items from the "Wiki Pages" list of the imported sub-site to the "Pages" list of a new 2010 Wiki sub-site, but they then just appear as "ASP.Net pages" and don't display the Wiki content.

I've also tried a couple of the commercial migration tools but these also just seem to copy the aspx files and leave them not viewable.

Thanks in advance

Paul

Having successfully run through stsadm -o preupgradecheck without having any issues highlighted to me, I believed I was now in a position to upgrade my Development Farm (single server Farm)......WRONG! Wiki page customization

Hi,

I am using a wiki library. I added one multiline field to this library and one date column.

1. How can i control number of lines entered in the multiline text box? By specifying the no. of lines only displays small textbox it doesn't stop us entering more.
2. When the user goes for edit i wanted the date column in the top. How do i acheive this ?

how to add a wiki page as a web part

Hi All,

I have created a feature that generates a page and adds a content editor web part, links web part (using elements.xml). Everything works fine but I would like to replace content editor web part with a wiki page that I am going to create.

For example, I copied an excerpt from elements.xml file that adds a content editor web part for the page.

<Module Path="Dependencies/Pages" Url="">
  <File Url="default.aspx" Type="Ghostable">

   <AllUsersWebPart WebPartZoneID="Right" WebPartOrder="1">

          <WebPart xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebPart/v2" xmlns:iwp="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebPart/v2/ContentEditor">
            <Assembly>Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c</Assembly>
            <TypeName>Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.ContentEditorWebPart</TypeName>
            <FrameType>Default</FrameType>

Executive Summary

          </WebPart>

   </AllUsersWebPart>

Can someone tell me how I can add a wiki page using manifest (elements.xml) file or some other way?

How to Customize Navigation for a Wiki Page

Hi,

I've created a wiki library with 10+ wiki pages. I want users to be able to move from page to page on the Quick Launch navigation bar without having to go back to the wiki library home. Is this possible? I see the "Recent Changes" quick launch navigation feature that seems to accompany all wiki pages in a wiki library. Can I add another component similar to the "recent changes" feature that simply lists all of the pages in the wiki library?

Thanks,

Sharepoint 2007 - Wiki site - New Pages Not Inheriting Custom Master Page

I am working on a SP site (MOSS not WSS) which is heavily customised away from the OOTB layout. I need to create a Wiki site, which was going well - I've created a master page which displays the miniconsole (this was not visible with our customised layout), and made it the default master page for the site. This has been applied to the two standard pages that come with the Wiki site, however when a new page is created, it seems to inherit the default.master, rather than my custom master page - thus not showing the miniconsole.

When I have created a new page, I am able to use SharePoint Designer to attach my custom master page to it, which works perfectly, however this will not be a viable option going forward as end-users create their new wiki pages.

How can I get the new pages to inherit my master page when they are created?
