Pass values between user controls on 2 different aspx pages

I have 2 user controls that is hosted by 2 different aspx pages.example: srcpage.aspx --> hosts the --> sourceusercontrol.ascxanddestpage.aspx --> hosts the --> destinationusercontrol.ascxI would like the values in the text fields of the sourceusercontrol.ascx to be passed on to the labels in the destinationusercontrol.ascx. I have gone through the MSDN ASP.Net examples and i was able to successfully pass values between two aspx page using the postback URL functionality, but cannot do the same thing with the usercontrols on 2 different aspx pages. Copying the whole layout with controls from one aspx page to another page in runtime

Hello all Here is my issue. I've a page main.aspx. This page has a button 'Settings'. When it is clicked, I load another aspx page settigns.aspx in a popup. Now in the settings.aspx i allow the users to add controls dynamically. For example the user can create 5 textboxes. When he saves it there, I need to get that controls to main.aspx. So i need to move all the controls from one page to another page. I'm not able to think of a solution with user controls. Any ideas on this?

How to get an aspx page to call ApplyStyleSheetSkin on its controls

I have a few custom composite controls that set their cssclass only when calling their ApplyStyleSheetSkin method.

I worked around this by creating a function which recursively walks through all controls on a page and calls that method, but I was wondering if there isn't a way to do this automatically? (i.e. how do I tell the aspx page to call the ApplyStyleSheetSkin method inside the controls?

Thanks in advance,

MVP Pattern : how user controls communicate with each other on the same aspx page

I have 2 usercontrols: ucc1 and ucc2. ucc2 's data is dependent on the data selection in ucc1. How would i implement this with MVP pattern or I should handle it thru the main page by reading the data in ucc1 and set it to ucc2?

Thank you

Best way to refresh windows/controls in case relevant data has been updated

I have an application with number of screens used to edit/display data. In case any of screens is edited, all dependant screens must be refreshed. I do not want to refresh data used by screens each time they become active. I was thinking of creating an interface:

interface IRefreshable { void Resfresh() }

All child windows(=screens) will implement this interface. Once any of the screens is saved it will notify it's parent window (=main app window) what kind of data was resfreshed. Main window will permanently store list of all child windows that are affected by specific change and will resfresh them.

class Main:Form{

  private  static Dictionary<DataType, List<IRefreshable>> resfreshableDict;

  static Main()

    // initialize resfreshableDict

  public Refresh(DataType type)

    // fetch IResfreshable for the type from resfreshableDict and invoke Resfresh()

class TaxesScreen: Form, IRefreshable

  private saveData()

    // save data

    // notify parent about the change of taxes data

Binding WPF Controls to an Entity Data Model

Custom Controls in C# .NET

Embedding user controls in a Windows form is just like adding a simple button or text box that are already provided with .NET. These basic controls were written essentially like you code your own controls. Typically the controls you design are to be used in multiple forms or to modularize your code. These reasons help reduce the amount of code you have to type as well as make it easier for you to change your implementation. There should almost never be any reason to duplicate code because it leaves a lot of room for bugs. So, implementing functionality specific to your control in the control's source code is a good idea. This reduces code duplication as well as modularize your code, which is a good programming guideline.

Accessing the different controls inside a GridView control

how we can access a particular control which resides inside a GridView control. In this article I will show you how you can access different controls inside a GridView control. We will see how we can access a TextBox control, a DropDownList control and a ListBox control. If you are working with ASP.NET 1.X then you might want to check out my article Accessing Different Controls Inside a DataGrid.

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!

How to programmatically add controls to Windows forms at run time by using Visual C#

Create a Windows Forms Application
Start Visual Studio .NET or Visual Studio 2005 or a later version, and create a new Visual C# Windows Application project named WinControls. Form1 is added to the project by default.
Double-click Form1 to create and view the Form1_Load event procedure.
Add private instance variables to the Form1 class to work with common Windows controls. The Form1 class starts as follows:
ASP.NetWindows Application  .NET Framework  C#  VB.Net  ADO.Net
Sql Server  SharePoint  Silverlight  Others  All
