Hi to all,
im tying to replace some text introduced in a word document stored in a document library.
Exactly i need a web part with a button that change a key in a word template <list> (for example) and replace <list> with a text in another list.
I think that it would works with the Microsoft.Office.Word.Interop; namespace but when i call the function :
wDoc = wordApp.Documents.Open(ref fileName, ref missing,
ref readOnly, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing,
ref missing, ref missing, ref missing, ref missing,
ref missing, ref isVisible, ref missing, ref missing,
I have created a table as below
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EmpDetails](
[Name] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
[Address] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
[Town] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
[City] [nvarchar](50) NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]
I have inserted the value as below
INSERT INTO [Employee].[dbo].[EmpDetails] ([Name],[Address],[Town],[City])
VALUES ('abc','5th Street ARY ARYSHIRE','ARY','ARYSHIRE')
I want the address as
So I gave the update query as below
set address= replace(address,town,'')
But what happened was the address got modified as below
5th Street SHIRE.
Now when I give
set address= replace(address,city,''),
now such a word called as ARYSHIRE does not exist.
How do I sort this problem.
I want to replace the word ARY and not ARYSHIRE
This occurs in many parts of my table.
Kindly do let me know.
I need to create a system, that will be similar to ms word style comments. So the idea is the following: on the page there are a pack of text boxes labels and so on, and user need have the way to comment each control, and save commented text, for example to DB, so the others can reed comments too.
I tried PopUpControlExtender, but it works in single way, and i cannot view all the popups in one time. Or may be i missed something and there is a way to popup all the controls at one time?
Therefore, are there any known solutions for a discribed task, based on PopUpControlExtender or something else?
Is it possible with SQL sorted in descending order according to the word?In Table I shrajeno Mastercard, Visa, Diners etc ...All Visa are the first in the order, another Mastercard, etc. ...Something does not work: ORDER BY PaymentType = 'Visa';I would not want to work in one field PaymentId (111,222,33, etc. ..) and then use the ORDER BY.Is this possible in such a way?
i have a feild in database where we store data like
i want only first to word to show in textbox1 like(only PT).
using EF3.5sp1 for a project, and I've been working around many of its
problems... as such, my entity partial classes have a lot of logic in
them for change-tracking and whatnot. Obviously, I'd like to factor
this logic out into a common base class,
but of course all my objects must derive from EntityObject. Is it
possible to tell them to derive from some class of my own invention
(which would actually likely derive from EntityObject themselves)?
I'd rather avoid editing the EDMX file unless the changes will be
safe on entity-model-update, since I'm still making changes to the
database schema in this early state of my project.
Also, is there any good workaround for the fact that the change isn't tracked when you change EntityReference.EntityKey?
The problem I am posting here is that I was facing nearly 2 weeks around. Any body comes with this stuff please help.
Word Automation in sample ASP.NET(C#) application.
I am using Microsoft.Office.Inetrop.Word Assembly for automation. Here I am reading a XXX.dot template file and fill the contents with dynamic data.
When i am executing my code in localhost:someportnumber the automation is working fine and I could get expected result and when I am hosting in my inetmgr(Windows XP is my OS) it is also working fine.
But the problem is that when I am hosting in my production server(Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition) I am not able to perform automation and results in the following error.
Data: System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternalMessage: Word has encountered a problem.Source: Microsoft Word
The code gets failed in the following line:
ApplicationClass wordApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ApplicationClass();
Document wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Add(ref oTemplate, ref oFalse, ref oMissing, ref oMissing); // Error in this line
I cannot able to proceed further. Can anybody please help me in solving this issue?
That notwithstanding, here is my problem. I have developed a simple method that will open a local Word document, modify some header information, and then save the document as a new file. As expected, it works great as a console/windows app, but as soon as I went to ASP.NET, DCOM jacked my world up when accessing the app remotely from a different domain account (that has access to the ASP.NET app. For reference, my method is shown below:
1 public static string ModifyAndSaveBuildDocument(string localFilePath, BuildDocumentType docType, string buildNumber, DateTime buildDate, string projectName)
5 ProjectConfiguration config = (ProjectConfiguration)ConfigurationManager.GetSection("ProjectConfiguration");
in my asp.net web application i am dynamically generating a word documnet out of a sql data. My sql data in the document have special characters whihc can only be understandable using the UTF-8 charset otherwise its always ?T written in place of an apostrophy . Pasting my code here..
HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType = "application/msword";
HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.UnicodeEncoding.UTF8;
HttpContext.Current.Response.Charset = "utf-8";
string strFileName = "Details" + ".doc";
HttpContext.Current.Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "inline;filename=" + strFileName);

Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 include a new set of components called Application Services. These put a rich set of tools in a developer's bag for Office automation. We'll show you how to use Office OpenXML, Word Automation Services and SharePoint to build a simple application that merges separate status reports into a single document.
