AjaxControlControlToolKits version Conflict in SharePoint

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 05, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi All,

I created a Sharepoint webpart with AjaxcontrolToolKit 4.0 tools and deployed it on to SharePoint and also put the  AjaxcontrolToolKit.ddl in to the bin folder of my SharePoint webapplication. But I'm getting this error.

Could not load file or assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded.

Can anyone pls help me where it is going wrong.

Reporting Services in SharePoint integration - configurtion errors in 64bit version

We have build an MOSS 2007 environment on 64 bit servers. We build the reporting services server and configured in SharePoint integration mode. Initially configuration looks fine with reporting services integration with green indicators.

After creating a web application and accessing the web site from the report servor, i have found the following errors:

SharePoint Version 2.0 (WSS 2.0 SP3) Content Database restore to new farm

Is it possible to use an SQL backup from a sharepoint Version 2 SP3 database to restore the content on a new server farm and attach to a new web applicaiton. NOTE: This is WSS 2.0. In WSS 3.0 this is a very simple task, but it is not the same in WSS 2.0 (the add content database option CANNOT be used to attach to an existing content database like it does in WSS 3.0). The options I have found appear to say you need the configuration database from the old server then it can be done. I am migrating from an outsourced deployment, so I do not have access to that. Plan B is to do a sharepoint STSADM backup. THis seems to be a more likey way to do it.

user permission in granula level in SharePoint version 2

Hi, everyone:   I am administrator of a SharePoint v2 site. I found that I can either give "view item" or "view item, insert item, remove item and update item" permission to users, no middle. However, I do wish to give some users "view, edit" permission, but no "insert and remove item" permission.   So, does SharePoint v2 support this in out of box feature? if yes, how to make it, if no how can we achieve in easiest way?   Thank u MySTfrom Finland :D

Which Sharepoint Version is best for my client

Hi all, A bit of advice really.  My client would like to use sharepoint as a tool to open communications with the office staff.  I have advised on using Sharepoint but am not 100% what the difference between the 2008 version that comes with server 2008 or the sharepoint server, which is additional costs. What my client needs to achieve is:   Gantt chats Access to files when outside the office (upload and download) To allow access to 3rd party organisations to access a created 'site' for the client.   So really, my question is, can this be achieved with the Sharepoint Version that is standard to 2008 or would they have to purchase the full version? Also, what is the difference between both versions? If there is a link I can be pointed too, more than happy to read.....just need this quite urgent   Thanks for any help   Drew

SQL Server 2008 R2 deploying any version of sharepoint results in extremly slow DB creation

Hello, When installing any version of Sharepoint(2007,2010) during the "Creating Configuration Database" Step it takes over 10 hours to complete.  Then creating a web app takes just as long. and the sites are extreemply slow.  Environment: 1) DB Server - SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 2) Webserver - to host Sharepoint 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2 The Servers are on the same network and running with lots of horsepower, disk and memory.  Are there any know issues with this and should we install Cummulative Update 3? Maybe that has a fix.  We exhausted all our options and need justification to apply the CU3 hotfix(s). Thanks for your help.

Error - The evaluation period for this version of SharePoint Portal Server has Expired

I am using SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and in the app log I'm seeing this error "The evaluation period for this version of SharePoint Portal Server has Expired" which I believe is causing the search service to not work and I can no longer sign in to the SP central admin console. While I did not perform the install myself it has been running for over a year and according to MS the SP PS 2003 eval was only 120 days so I assume the full version was installed.  Any idea's? There are a couple more errors in the event log but I assume they are symptoms and not causes. How to remove conflict between Sharepoint 2010 Post Cache Substitution and Response.Filter

Under SharePoint 2007 (Win Server 2008, SQL 2008) we made use of Response.Filter to meet certain requirements for accessibility to remove certain markup or add to markup that was missing attributes, etc. When we upgraded to SharePoint 2010 we get the following error message from the pages, unless we remove the use of Response.Filter: "Post cache substitution is not compatible with modules in the IIS integrated pipeline that modify the response buffers.  Either a native module in the pipeline has modified an HTTP_DATA_CHUNK structure associated with a managed post cache substitution callback, or a managed filter has modified the response." I have found several posts including this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2014472 that explains that it is definately a problem, but no one has an alternative solution to using the Response.Filter, and the article doesn't say how to disable the use of Post Cache Substitution. So, my question is how do I turn off the use of Post Cache Substitution in SharePoint 2010, or how can I alter the final markup of the page "After" the substitution happens?  Or, if it is a control or three that are using Post Cache Substitution, which one(s) so that I can remove them.

Migragate from SharePoint Protal 2003 to free version of SharePoint Services 3?

We currently have one 32x bit production server running SharePoint Portal 2003.  I have been task to create a SharePoint test/dev environment.  I been approved to look into upgrading SharePoint Portal 2003 to SharePoint 2010, however.  We are only using the application for our external and intranet website.  They are both basic websites in that the intranet get updated daily with updated data content.  Other features are not being used and I was thinking we could save a lot of money by going to the free version, SharePoint 2010 Foundation.  I've started to research on the best methods to upgrade the current production and the test/dev SharePoint environments to SharePoint 2010 Foudation.  I'm unable to find any artcles for migrating from the full version to the free version.  My idea is to install a 64x bit box with Windows Server 2008 R2 and then install SharePoint Services 3.  I want to migrate the data from the full version of SharePoint Portal 2003 over to SharePoint Services 3.  Then I will upgrade SharePoint Services 3 to SharePoint 2010 Foundation.  I will make this the live environment and then I would just build the second server the same way except I can start by installing SharePoint 2010 Foundation and then just copy the data from production to the new test/dev envrionment.  Is this

Cannot Restore Backup from Sharepoint Server 2007 to Sharepoint Server 2010 Trial Version

After installing the trial version of Sharepointn 2010 I wanted to restore my Sharepoint 2007 sites to it but received the following error:  "The site collection could not be restored. If this problem persists, please make sure the content databases are available and have sufficient free space." I went on to create a new content database in sharepoint 2010 but it still did not work. The old database i.e the one used by the sharepoint 2007 server is SQL 2005. During the installation of the sharepoint 2010 version I selected SQl Server Express for the database. Is there any specifics for migrating from MOSS 2007 to sharepoint 2010? Thanks for helping

Why is it looking for: Microsoft.SharePoint.Search version when I'm installing SharePoint

I had SharePoint 2010 installed on Windows 2008R2 test box. I then upgraded it to a DC, and it broke SharePoint. In the meantime, I was asked to put SharePoint 2007 on, as a non-Microsoft SharePoint add-on that we want to test is not yet compatible with SharePoint 2007. I have removed every trace of SharePoint 2010 that I can find, but I am running into difficulties with configuraing SharePoint 2007. It installs successfully, but when it reaches task 2 of the SPTCW it fails. The error is: An exception of type System.IO.FileNotFoundException was thrown. Additional exception information: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Search, Version, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.   I know enough to know that it seems to be looking for SharePoint Search from 2010, but I have removed all traces of 2010. I'm guessing that there is a DLL or something that is from 2010 that hasn't been written over when installing SharePoint 2007, and it's calling for the Microaoft.SharePoint.Search.   I've been into c:\windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL and there is no evidence of a Microsoft.SharePoint.Search   I am hoping that I don't have to rebuild the server, but I'm pretty stuck now. I've spent 2 days on the whole SharePoint nightmare.

version dependency while backup restore of SharePoint 2007 Site Collections

hi all

I am aware of a version dependency on the stsadm -o backup/restore operation.

But will the same dependency exist for a content DB backup restore..

i.e. for example will we able to restore a content DB backup taken from a server with version say to a server with say assuming that the versions of SQL is the same in both cases.

Will the version difference in SQL create issues

Thanks in advance

SharePoint 2007 and SRS 2005 SP3 Version Missmatch

I'm trying to make our SQL Reports available on our SharePoint report center. I have SQL 2005 (sp3) report server that resides on the same server than our SharePoint 2007 server.

However when configuring the Report Server, we got stuck at the step "Grant Database Access". For some reason we keep getting error message "Named instance not found". Please see screenshot:

I'm suspicious that there is a version mismatch between the report server and the Reporting Services Add-in. Our SQL Report Server is 2005 SP3 and the Report Server version is 9.3.4035. However the  SRS 2005 Add-in for SharePoint version that I just installed is only version 9.00.3294.00.

Is there a more updated version of the SRS 2005 Add-in for Sharepoint?... or is SRS 2005 with SP3 is not compatible with the Add-in?

Please let me know what would be the best solution for

Sharepoint Designer and Foundation version mismatch error

The company I am employed by has been running SharePoint 2010 successfully for several months now. Recently when anyone attempts to edit our main site using SharePoint designer they are prevented from doing so an given the following error message: "Server Error: The version of Microsoft SharePoint Foundation running on the server is more recent than the version of SharePoint Designer you are using. You need a more recent version of SharePoint Designer". We are running the most recent version that we can find available for download from Microsoft. The server administrator has attempted to roll back the most recent patches / updates to SP Foundation, rebooted the site collection, tried a fresh install of Designer and other obvious common solutions to no avail.

This is a massive impediment to our continued development of this product. How do we resolve this problem?
