Room and equipment reservation template more than 20 resources

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 05, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
We want to use the room and equipment reservation template in our company.
It worked fine until we created more than 20 resources. When reserving a rescource, starting from the availabilitiy page, the new items dropdown wasn't focussed anymore.
After we deleted resources until 20 remained the focus worked again.
Does anyone know how to solve this, because we need to have more than twenty resources.

Room and Equipment Reservation Template - Change Availability Date Calendar

I have customize the availability.aspx page and added some lookup drop-down fields to filter by additional criteria (Resource Type, Room Capacity, Location, Floor, Equipment). As i select from the drop-down it filters the list of available resources and it displays availability by the current date only, I need to see availability by the day, week and month from this screen. How do I change the display view?

Workflow failed to start in Room Equipment Reservation Site

I created a site using Microsoft's Room and Equipment Reservation template. I created a workflow to send an email to confirm reservation using sharepoint designer. I get the following error on workflow status: workflow failed to start (retrying). The error detail on the log file is:

Room and Equipment Reservations - Customization of Availability Time per Resource

Hi All, My user wants the Room and Equipment Reservations' look and feel be customized. We are using MOSS 2007. The objective is to change the color of the Time Reserved in the Reserve a Resource link per resource. This can be found in sharepointsite/Lists/Reservations/Availability.aspx. For example: Resource 1 = All Time Reserved is in color Red. Resource 2 = All Time Reserved is in color Blue. Resource 3 = All Time Reserved is in color Green. I used SharePoint Designer 2007 and found out that the Time Reserved is using an image named blueGradient.jpg as background image for container. I tried modifying this but I ended up replacing all for every resource. I tried adding background-color for the code below as well, but is yet unsuccessful in customizing it per resource. <tr>      <td nowrap="" class="resource" style="padding-left:2px; padding-right:2px"><a href="/{$directory}/DispForm.aspx?ID={$id}" onclick="javascript:this.href = unescapeProperly(escape(this.href)); GoToLink(this); return false;" target="_self"><xsl:value-of select="$fieldvalue" /></a></td>      <td class="resource" style="width:100%">       <div class="container" style="{$STA

Rooms and Equipment Reservations Application template using WSS 3.0 issue.

I have set up a conference room reservations site using the RER template, I have questions...The template functions pretty much as I want out of the box, except for two items.1.)  Any User can delete any other user's reservation.2.)  Any User can delete a resource.Does anyone know of a way to resolve these issues?  All users need contribute permissions to use the site.

How to detect and avoid memory and resources leaks in .NET application

Despite what a lot of people believe, it's easy to introduce memory and resources leaks in .NET applications. The Garbage Collector, or GC for close friends, is not a magician who would completely relieve you from taking care of your memory and resources consumption.

I'll explain in this article why memory leaks exist in .NET and how to avoid them. Don't worry, I won't focus here on the inner workings of the garbage collector and other advanced characteristics of memory and resources management in .NET.

Resources for soup-to-nuts of website development lifecycle

 I'm looking for a website, or book, or some resource that can lead me down the path from website design to implementation/deployment. I know that covers a ton of material, but I am really looking for the bullet points, or high-lights, to make sure that I think of everything. I am mostly fuzzy on security measures and deployment since I haven't been involved in those aspects before.

Background:  I have been a programmer for many years, and with a little over 3 years' experience coding websites in vb.net/asp.net with sql server. Due to recent restructuring/layoffs at our firm, I find myself in the position of lead IT person - I'm feeling a bit underqualified but I feel this is my chance to work hard and step up to it. I'm very good at vb.net, master pages, css, asp.net, sql server. I'm worried that the person who was the lead before was doing a bunch of stuff that I'm not aware of...so I need to start learning more than just the code. I don't need lessons on how to code anything...I need to learn how it all gets put together - the next step up.

thanks for any suggestions!

Dropdown Event (Template Field)

I have grid view control that includes a dropdown control in a template field.

I wish to execute some code when the value is changed in the dropdown list.  Can't figure out how to capture this event though?

Any suggestions?

Empty template support for GridView

Just add the following to support the empty text in the GridView.

protected override void RenderContents(HtmlTextWriter writer)
	if (Extender.AdapterEnabled)
		GridView gridView = Control as GridView;
		if (gridView != null)
			if ((gridView.Rows.Count == 0) && !String.IsNullOrEmpty(gridView.EmptyDataText))
				writer.WriteAttribute("class", "AspNet-GridView-Empty");

Example of tag to be added to the css
.NiceGridView .AspNet-GridView div.AspNet-GridView-Empty
	border-width: 1px;
	border-style: solid;
	border-color: #

Code refactoring is defined as the act of changing code without changing what it does. The actual work involved in refactoring-extracting methods from oversized modules, tidying up and unifying variable names, identifying unhandled exceptions, and all the other cleanup, simplification, and standardization chores-can be daunting, indeed, and risky too.
