Posted By:      Posted Date: October 05, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

My question is

When the user opens the application for the first time after installing it they should be prompted to either enter a registration code or activate the     30-day trial.  The user should not be able to use the application before first activating a trial period or registering the software.

 - algorithim  is needed that generate key which match the installed software code.

Please let me know if any one have any soluation for this problem.

Cannot Restore Backup from Sharepoint Server 2007 to Sharepoint Server 2010 Trial Version

After installing the trial version of Sharepointn 2010 I wanted to restore my Sharepoint 2007 sites to it but received the following error:  "The site collection could not be restored. If this problem persists, please make sure the content databases are available and have sufficient free space." I went on to create a new content database in sharepoint 2010 but it still did not work. The old database i.e the one used by the sharepoint 2007 server is SQL 2005. During the installation of the sharepoint 2010 version I selected SQl Server Express for the database. Is there any specifics for migrating from MOSS 2007 to sharepoint 2010? Thanks for helping

how to create demo version of software.............

Hello everybody,
I want to know how to create demo version of a software which works only upto specified time. I have seen many demo version softwares but i think their working is not right because they r based on system time and can be used for more time by changing the system time.

Is their any other method to restrict used after special time?

Can we create a variable in permanent registers which should be incremented after every clock cycle even when system is off and when this varible reaches a specified value, user should be denied to open the software.

I am working in VS2005 windows software.

Question about Workflow in Document Library with version control and check-in/out enabled

I use Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and have a workflow to set some metadata in a document with version control and check-in/check-out enabled (approval content is not enabled because anyone in the team can be a possible editor of the document).

My metadata is:

- a generated doc id with text+id (example P&D_1)

- a calculated status based in version: minor version = "on development" and major-version="published/approved"

I defined two workflows:

1) is called when item is created to define id and status.

2) is called when item is updated and status is re-calculated if version is major. (It is called in every item change, not only when user wants to publish a major version, because this option doesn't appear in SPD)

I noticed that sharepoint workflow must do a check-out to be able to update metadata, and because of this the version number is incremented. When version is minor, I don't care, but when version is major I have a problem, because just after publishing the version 1.0, the workflow changes metadata and the version to 1.1. and 1.1 means that the document is not approved anymore...

a) Isn't it possible to do the workflow to check-in and override the last/current version to not generate a new version??

b) Or is it possible to stop versi

VS2005 becomes a trial version....

Hi all,

i use VS2005 (Visual Studio 2005) since a while, registered as a full license. Recently i've downloaded and installed VS2008 "Trial 30 days" from the Microsoft web site. Then, when i run VS2005, i get a Trial dialog, sayng me that my version will expire in xx days.

I'm looking for somewhere to (re)enter my VS2005 product key (full license) and stop this malicious Trial countdown, but i didn't find it.

Any hints?

But now it's not letting me do that as it says I cannot install the trial version on the same server. Its been only 2 weeks since I installed the SP 2010 trial version, how do I skip this. Using a CompareValidator to check input is a valid date

The CompareValidator can do more than just compare two controls. You can also compare it against several of the main .net data types such as Date, Integer, Double and Currency.

To do this you would set Operator="DataTypeCheck" and instead of setting the ControlToCompare or ValueToCompare attributes as you normally would you use the Type="Date" (or any of the data types I have listed above).

Check All with JQuery and a Asp.Net GridView

Display a Grid on the screen with a checkbox in each row. At the bottom of the page have "Check All" button.

Typically if I need to do anything interesting I use a template column. So my GridView will look like the one below (most other columns removed for readability). The only interesting point to note is the CssClass="ApprovalCheckBox" in the CheckBox ItemTemplate.

ASP.NET 4.0: WebForm Routing (quick n dirty version)

One of the things we're adding in ASP.NET 4.0 is built-in support for using Routing together with WebForms. Now, I'm totally aware that this is possible to do already and that a number of people have posted ways of doing this with the Web Routing feature which shipped with ASP.NET 3.5 SP1. We're just adding some features to make it easier to do
