SitemapPath disappears

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 05, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi guys,

I have a sitemapPath control on my masterpage and such sitemap control will show where the guests are viewing at. Let say,

Home > Travel > Korea

home: www.mysite.net

travel:www.mysite.net/photogallery.aspx?catagory=travel

Korea:www.mysite.net/photoDetails.aspx?catagory=travel&item=korea

Now, i would like to let my guest to filter the catagories so that they can find the catagory easily. By doing so, i add "filter" in my query string and as a result, the url will be like,

www.mysite.net/photogallery.aspx?catagory=travel&filter=MostView

However, the sitemappath control fails to show and just disappear totally on my master page.

Could anyone tell me what i can do ? Thank you very much.

Chrome update.. Ajaxtoolkit TabContainer disappears on button click.

Hello,Yesterday (Thursday Sep 10th 2010) I was happy to have a TabContainer working fine on a simple page as im learning to use it.On the page was:1) Ajax Script manger.2) 1 command button (it would make label1.text = "hello world"3) A Ajax TabContainer with 2 tabs... 4) Label1 That was it and it was working fine in Chrom and IE Woohoo.. I go home...This morning I load it up to keep working way and doing more with it.... Chrome is my default browser, it loads and I click tab2 then tab 1 all is well.... I click Butto1 and the hole TabContainer disapears..After much dinging I find it still works in IE but that my Chrome has updated (on its own): (I notice only one ICON in Chrome in the uper right corner by the addres bar... Only the Wrench ICON, No more Page ICON.. So I check and sure enough Chrome did a push to V 6.0.472.55.. thanks for asking me Google...) Anyhow thats the difference and now TabContainer goes poof/disappears when clicking a button that refeshes the page.Any thoughts?Others having this problem?ThanksShane

Sitemap disappears almost daily after moving to .NET 4.0

We have the following problematic behaviour on our production server (.NET 4.0, Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0): Almost every morning, the users will complain that the sitemap used for navigating has disappeared. We use the standard SiteMapPath control, with a static XML file that contains the site structure. Reycling the application pool resolves the problem.I was unable to find any obviously related error messages in the event logs. The sitemap did not disappear when we used .NET 3.5, now we use .NET 4.0. The users most often access reports using ReportViewer 2010 in local mode (loading rdlc files)As of now,we are unable to reproduce the behaviour on our test system, but since we don't have dedicated test users, the test server is idle most of the time. If it has to do with recycling the app pool, maybe it only happens under load, I don't know.Can anyone suggest an approach on how to get to the source of the problem? Reverting to 3.5 would take a lot of effort since we already depend on 4.0 in some places.

SharePoint Services 3.0 Customizing the SiteMapPath Control

Hello, I have a simple, standalone Server running Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, over Windows Server 2008. I have basic knowledge about WSS implementation. In the default.master file there is a SiteMapPath Control with ID=ContentMap I wish to modify. I did create a Library with a short name for the URL, then renaming it to its full name for displaying, as the first one remains still, so when open in a browser it looks like (for example): http://sharepoint/ppts/Forms/AllItems.aspx But on the title area on the page it shows its full name: "Powerpoint Presentations 2010" and on the mentiones SiteMapPath control too. I added a WebParts page in this library and called it: "scheduling.aspx", now you may be guessing what I want to do. When I open the page in a browser it actually shows scheduling (without the aspx extension) on the SiteMapPath control. At first I just thought on removing the control from the default.master page, but my curiosity pushed me to research if what I want to do, is even possible.  I would like to show something like the text that is set on the page's Title Area "Events Scheduling, instead of the file name... (without the extension), so the SiteMapPath control render like: Research and Development Group - Powerpoint Presentations 2010 - Events Scheduling instead of: Research and Development

Sitemappath with Sql provider not work

Hi,
i have a treeview control that connected with a Sql provider from web.config. The class for the new sql provider was created from this tutorial: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/articles/20050531.asp.

here is the web.config:
            <siteMap defaultProvider="SqlSiteMapProvider" enabled="true">
                <providers>
                    <add name="SqlSiteMapProvider" type="SqlSiteMapProvider"
                      securityTrimmingEnabled="false"
                      connectionStringName="SiteMapConnectionString" provider="SqlSiteMapProvider"  />
                    <add name="XmlSiteMapProvider" type="System.Web.XmlSiteMapProvider" siteMapFile="web.SiteMap"  />
                </providers>
            </siteMap>

The treeview works fine with this code:

FormView Disappears or gives a SQL Conversion Error

I am using a gridview for control parameters for a formview on the same page.

I keep getting the SQL Error below.  I have painfully looked through the code to see what the deal is and I have a feeling it has to do with the control parameter. When I test the query in the wizard it gives me back what I should get back.

When I run the page and code I get the error below. This value is the CorpID and it is a varchar. So I am thinking the way the parameters are configured is not correct.

I have no issues with the Insert Template, just the edit template. So it eithers gives me the SQL error or the Formview does not appear.

Any guidance on how to map the parameters from a GrdiView would be aprreciated.

SQL Error:Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'X123456' to data type int.

SQL for Form View

select userid, FirstName , LastName ,PermissionLevelDesc, a.Permissionlevelid as permissionlevelid,
case active_flg when 1 then 'Active'
else 'Inactive' end as Active_Status,active_flg,CorpID
from dbo.NPE_APP_Users a inner join dbo.NPE_APP_SEC_PROFILE b
on a.PermissionLevelID = b.PermissionLevelID
where userid = @userid and corpid=@corpid and a.permissionlevelid=@permissionlevel

Window 7....screen disappears

I have a new computer set-up for a small business running a third party software (IDEXX-Cornerstone). It is a veterinary business management software. The software was upgraded with Window 7 compatiable installed by the company, a new CPU was purchased to the IDEXX specification plus. As I work on the computer the screen I'm working on will disappear for about 15 seconds and reappear or if I go to move the mouse the screen disappears and then returns. It is extremely anoying. I was advised it was a windows 7 glitch. I purchased a new laptop (Dell Inspiron) with all the bells and whistles and it did the same thing. The only thing the two computers had in commom was the blinking screen. After 100's of updates, compatibility runs, reinstalls, software repairs, etc. I seem to have the laptop problem taken care of but the business CPU still has the problem. I don't know which update repaired the laptop. Can anyone tell me what causes the blinking screen and how to make it stop disappearing? Thanks for your help.

JSON data disappears on call

Hey

I have a problem with a AJAX call I do in a application.
It's a MVC application (ASP.net c#) with a lot of javascript.

When I do a call from my javascript to a controller (through a ajax call) the call gets to the class and function, but the data isn't there.
The data is send in JSON.

I found a few of the same problem but most of the time they used another name voor de parameter then it is in there json. That's not my problem.

Here is the code

$.ajax({
            type: "POST",
            url: "/Event/Home/UserInfo",
            data: jsonString,
            contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
            dataType: "json",
            success: function (result) {
               //RESULT
            },
            error: function (xhr, msg, e) {
                //ERROR
            }
});

public JsonResult UserInfo(string json)
 {
            DateTime theDate = DateTime.Parse(json);
            int HomeTimeZoneIndex = VisitContext.TimezoneIndex;
            double HomeTimeZoneOffset = TzConvert.ToLocalExt(theDate, VisitContext.TimezoneIndex).Offset.TotalMinutes;
            string PublicName = VisitContext.PublishMember.PublicName;
            string Id = VisitContext.PublishMember.ID.

SSRS 2005 Email Address Disappears when Editing Subscription

Execute DDL Task logging disappears after applying SQL Server 2008 SP2

I am using various SSIS packages to manage different Analysis Services (SSAS) databases.  The packages create the necessary DDL for processing the dimensions and partitions in the SSAS databases and then run the DDL using Execute DDL tasks.

I've been using SSIS logging to capture the log information for the Execute DDL Tasks and directing that log data to a SQL Server table.  I've noticed that since the application of SP2 I only get the 'Started building processing schedule.' log message for the Execute DDL Tasks and none of the other event log entries.

This has happened at a couple of the sites that I support.  Install SP2 = no logging (with the one exception) from the Execute DDL Task steps.

Is this a known issue?  I did a couple of searches and didn't find anything.

Thanks,

Ray
