Posted By:      Posted Date: October 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I developed an ASP.net 1.1 web application that is written in VS2203 and I am using Reporting Services 2005 to render some reports in PDF Format. My problem was it is working fine in local (XP) and Production environment (Windows 2003 Server).fromo long back the solution was not working for my integration Server which has windows 2003 Server (1.1) and we installed the 2.0,3.5 frameworks. It is throwing an Object refernce error while render the report. Is there any permisions or  something missing.

PLease help me out to solve this issue.

Reporting Services SQL 2005 .Net 4 compatibility?

I've been working on my first asp.net application and for the most part it's been pretty smooth.  Right now I'm having trouble getting reporting services working under SQL Server 2005.  I developed the site with Visual Studio 2010 and didn't think about any of the .Net 4.0 compatibility issues that have arisen.  I'm having no problems with the site communicating with SQL Server 2005 for the regular database stuff.  The only problem I'm having is with setting up Reporting Services.  I have the .Net 4.0 framework installed on the server, however Reporting Services is still using 2.x.  I'm not sure if this is a problem with SSRS or with IIS.  When i go to localhost/Reports it's reading my web.config for my application and throwing an error: "Parser Error Message: Unrecognized attribute 'targetFramework'."  This is referring to a line in my web.config where targetFramework is set to 4.0.

Software that I'm using:

  • Visual Studio 2010
  • SQL Server 2005 Standard
  • IIS 7.0
  • .Net 4.0

Any suggestions?

SQL Server 2005: Install reporting services - which version?

Hello - I installed SQL Server 2005 as part of an SBS2008 install. I need to install reporting services, but now I'm having trouble identifying which version (X64 or X86) I'm running. Is there an easy way of figuring out which installation disk I need to insert for SQL Server 2005? Thanks, Nick.

SharePoint integration with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services

Hello Everyone,   I have been banging my head against the wall with trying to integrate SharePoint 2007 and SQL Reporting Services.  If anyone could offer any assistance, I would appreciate it greatly. I have been following these 2 websites down to the letter in trying to configure everything:     1. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326356.aspx     <---Microsoft's Steps   2. http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/archive/2007/02/19/microsoft-sql-server-2005-sp2-reporting-services-integration-with- wss-3-0-and-moss-2007.aspx   <---SharePoint Blog Group     Basically my setup is as follows:   Server 1 = SharePoint 2007 Server 2 = SQL Server Reporting Services SP2 / SharePoint 2007 services Server 3 = Database   Server1 is setup and running SharePoint 2007 fine with no problems. It was installed under the complete option with its own server farm. Then with the Server2, SharePoint 2007 is installed again, also under the complete complete option, and configured to join Server1's server farm. In this way, Server2 is able to supply Server1 with services and it has been said that if you are using 2 different servers, one for SharePoint and one for Reporting Services, you need to have an instance of SharePoint on the reporting services box. With a SharePoint "front-end" the reporting-services now has a way to also join Server1s farm.   This is where the headache be

How to configure Sharepoint 2007 Reporting Services 2005 with NLB sharing same RS database

Hello, I'm trying to configure RS using two FE and a single SQL database in sharepoint integrated mode. At first i was getting an error about version of reporting server wouldnt support scale-out configuration, so i upgraded RS Instances in both FE's to 2005 Ent Ed. and re-installed sharepointRS_Addin in both FE servers and successfully initialized both with the reporting services configuration tool. after successfully granted database access to both FE's using CAS.  if i browse to                    http://WFE1:port/ReportServer/                    or                    http://WFE2:port/ReportServer/                    the database content is listed in browser.   if i browse to:                    http://NLB-sitename:port/ReportServer                    the database content gets listed also, tho it seams to list random conten

Run Reporting services 2005 with databases housed on SQL Server 2008?

Hi, I have a RS 2005 install in which the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB databases reside on a different SQL Server 2005 server. I am planning to upgrade both to 2008 at some point but would like to do the SQL database engine first. So I would be running something like this: Server A: SQL 2005 Reporting Services Server B: SQL 2008 database engine - housing ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB Is this configuration supported? If I do this would I just need to run the DB's in 9.0 compatibility mode until we upgrade the RS server? Would it be better to upgrade the RS box first or both of them at the same time instead of doing the database engine first?

re: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies

To have access to the webpart "report viewer for sql server reporting services" you can of course install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies. My question though is, does your SharePoint 2007 server have to be running in integrated mode so as to be able to install and use the report viewer web part? Thanks.

SQL Reporting Services 2005: Must declare scalar variable

I have a report that calls a stored procedure that builds a temp table and then runs a select that joins on that temp table. The only parameter I have is @Name, an optional parameter that can be filled or NULL.   I keep getting the error "An error has occurred during local report processing. An error has occurred during report processing. Query execution failed for data set. Must declare the scalar variable "@Name".   I have checked to make sure this parameter is connected to the dataset by looking at the parameter tab. I've searched on posts but haven't seen an answer. Does anyone have any idea what this could be about and how to fix it?

Installing reporting services 2008 on machine that already has reporting services 2005

Hello everyone

I'm a novice when it comes to installing sql server and I would like to install reporting services 2008 on a machine that already has reporting services 2005 installed on it. This is a machine used for developing reports and is not used as the report server. I want to be able to develope reports in both BIDs 2005 and BIDS 2008.

I ran the sql server setup and when it comes to the screen that allows you to select the components to install, I noticed that you could create a new instance for reporting services 2008 but BIDS comes under the share components section.

If I was to select this option, would it over-write/upgrade BIDS 2005. Could someone please point me in the right direction on how to have a side by side installation of reporting services 2005 and 2008 including BIDS for both versions?

Thanks

Rob

SQL Reporting Services 2005 don't work

Hi all,

I've go the next problem.

There is an application which uses SQL 2005 Express Edition + SQL Reporting Services. Both these products are installed together in the same combination for more than hundred times and worked perfectly. Though there is one installation where SSRS was installed but don't work.

Symptoms:

1) There are no error messages in the SQL Setup. Both SQL Database Services and SQL Reporting Services realy were installed;

2) IIS contains required virtual directories. ASP.NET is installed and configured properly;

3) SQL Database Services is working fine; required databases exist. Network Service (account which is used for running SSRS service) is a member of required roles in these databases;

4) After installation SSRS service is down. After starting it stops again in a few moments;

5) Windows Application Event Log contains no error messages from SSRS

6) Reporting Services Configuration Manager claims that SSRS were not initialized;

7) In SSRS log there are error message saying

Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.EventLogSourceNotFound: The event source "
