To that end, I'm going to walk you through these four steps to effectively implementing a client side Repeater, using ASP.NET AJAX and jQuery:

Dynamically (on client side) populating data control (repeater) when dropdown item is selected

Hello!I'm currently working on a project and I want to make as much things as possible performing on client side - with as little loading as possible.The project consist of three "main" pages. On one page I use jQuery DataTable plugin which is working great. One page has tabs (using jQuery). I want to put datacontrol (repeater) on this site and when  user selects one item in dropdown, data in repeater loads on client side, without performing the action on server.I wonder if this is possible and if somebody can give me some case to help with?Thanks!I hope I was clear enough. all the best

Say if ajax is forbidden on the client side,how can we still get the requred data back?

Error: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.

Getting some errors after implementing the calendar control.  Error: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.  Here are some screenshots of the relevant info:   Here's the scenario...  I compile code locally, view the pages in a browser locally, and it all works fine.  Another developer sits down at my machine, logs in with AD account (which create a local profile for his account on my machine), and gets these errors when viewing my locally compiled code.  He then compiles the same code on my machine again just for a test, but still gets the same errors.  Can anyone come up with any good reasons for this behavior?  I put a call into MS and they suggested creating a new profile for the other developer with the errors since this appeared to be profile specific.  Tried doing that with the same results.  Help!

ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load = No Ribbon :( JS errors on Default and at Central

Looking for suggestions to why my ribbon crashed, and I'm unable to edit or add pages to my SharePoint 2010 Site.  Machine is Win7 Ultimate, IE8, SP2010 beta, VS2010 RC. All 64 Bit.  Was working fine.  Tried repair on the frameworks, after googling.  Cannot find the Geneva bits.  Removed Norton completely to sucessfully go back a couple of restore points and removed KB980182.  Clicked throught the SP configuration manager and all went well.  Definitely logged on as administrator.  IIS settings look good.  Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; OfficeLiveConnector.1.4; OfficeLivePatch.1.3; InfoPath.3; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E)Timestamp: Sun, 4 Apr 2010 22:21:30 UTC Message: Invalid characterLine: 1Char: 1Code: 0URI: http://starman/ScriptResource.axd?d=Zq0NPA5_FNMrMkj2gVMBkGEJYiejAr4xkOPFxcm9WpzwRnp65ubolTfztiSaY8z2QKXyoZQvaI_7A65C7OJf0Eii_VL61Hoi5B23lMNvWC01&t=ffffffffec2d9970 Message: Invalid characterLine: 1Char: 1Code: 0URI: http://starman/ScriptResource.axd?d=Zq0NPA5_FNMrMkj2gVMBkGEJYiejAr4xkOPFxcm9WpzwRnp65ubolTfztiSaY8z2u8yiDywNtvdUdmHr93TbWc4U0SHQq0pQ3M2FA3FoezpYhgSt6jFnafzRYmCIg8LW0&t=ffffffffec2d9970 Message: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed t

Using AJAX Extenders To Make Client-Side Happy

I am developing a web application that needs to retrieve, display and write data to an SQL database.  I'm trying to use AJAX and Javascripts in order to populate fields, lists and data, and to have button and calendar controls on the page that can update the page without refreshing and losing the data page.  Therefore, it's necessary that I find ways to doing as much as possible (ideally, everything) client-side, without page refreshes. Now, for security purposes, I've heard that there's a method for retrieving a copy of all relevant data from SQL at loading time, keeping a copy of it, perhaps on a separate page, and send-retrieve-display this data on my page, and then, at Submission time, write this data back to the Server.  This is to minimize hits to the Server and to preserve data integrity.  I've heard that doing this is called using an Extender, but we can't find examples of how this works so far. Can anybody provide me with a code example of how this is done and what it looks like?  Trying to find out how this is done, and decide if it's practical. Any suggestions and questions are welcome.

Problem registering client side script to interact with AJAX controls

Im using some animationExtenders in my project. The thing is, the objects to be animated are created programmatically, hence i need to also build programmatically the javascript code that will interact with them.It runs properly but, when i interact with these animated controls and the javascript functions are supposed to get to work, i keep getting the usual run-time error saying that the javascript functions are not defined. But, if i check the final html code generated, i can see how all the controls i built programmatically are there ,as well as the script.Tried both RegisterStartupScript and RegisterClientScriptBlock, no luck.Any advice? thanks in advance

After enabling routing, get 'Ajax client-side framework failed to load"

Hopefully someone's come across this before... After I try using routing on my web form & load my page I get a few javascript errors one after the other: Error: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.Error: 'Type' is undefinedError: 'Sys' is undefinedError: Object expectedError: 'Sys' is undefined   After fooling with this for awhile, I created a blank aspx page. It loaded fine. I drop a scriptmanager on the page & the errors above pop up. I've been using ajax controls up until this point, & they work just fine when I comment out my routing code so I know the toolkit is not corrupt. Its gotta be a config issue...just not sure where to go. It's a .net 4 web app on IIS7   Here's the code I added to my global.asax:void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes)        {            routes.MapPageRoute("PageRouting","{department}","~/Subweb.aspx");        }protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)        {            RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes);        }   In my web.config I added the assembly: &

Need technology guidance: want to build ASP.NET site with client-side hardware interacting controls

Hello everyone,

This is not a programming question per se, but rather an attempt to find the adequate technology to use for my objective.

My mandate is to build an ASP.NET Web Application. However, on certain pages, some client-side information needs to be fetched by interacting with hardware on the client's computer, for example a barcode reader or an RFID tag reader.

My first reflex was to think "ActiveX" controls with, perhaps, some AJAX coding to fetch the required values from said control. However, I am not sure if I am up to date with the latest tech trends.

The solution I'm looking for will let me design a user control that plugs into my ASP.NET Web Application, lets me interact with client-side hardware, and can be automatically downloaded from the Web Application itself (I can't predict which computers will access my Web Application).

Which technology(ies) should I go for?

Thanks a lot!

Client Side Validation with jQuery

I have used client side validation with Ajax before.  Now I need to do client side validation with jQuery.

I am referencing jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery.validation version 1.7.

I have added <% Html.EnableClientValidation(); %> to the view.

I have added Html.TextBoxFor and Html.ValidationMessageFor to the view.

Client side validation still does not work.

If I understand correctly, I also need to include MicrosoftMvcJQueryValidation.js.  This file was not installed with VS 2010 ultimate.  I have heard that it is available on the Futures project, but the links to the site are broken.

Do I need MicrosoftMvcJQueryValidation.js to make client side validation work?

If so, where do I find the current version of MicrosoftMvcJQueryValidation?  Why isn't it readily available for download or included with VS 2010?

If not, what do I do next to get client side validation to work?

I know that I could manually add calls to jQuery validation, but that is far from ideal - especially since the Ajax v

Client Side Filtering Using Jquery

Hi. I would like to filter a DVWP using client side filtering.  Here is what I have done so far:  I wrapped the entire DVWP inside a div tag.

<div id='filters'>

 This code will hide the DVWP:

var $fil = $('#filters'); $fil.hide();

Using a jquery filter function, I tried to effect certain items that met the criteria.  This does not work:

 $(fil).filter(function(index) { return $('@ID', this).val == 2; }).css('background-color', 'red');

Is there another element I can reference to see if the ID is equal to 2. Once I find a match, I'll want to hide that item. Thanks.

Client Side Validations with Ajax.BeginForm not working

I have a webform in which i am using Ajax.BeginForm.

But due to this my client side required fields are not working.

Please help.

error: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load.

Hi all,

I m getting this weird error "ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load." in my project which none of my other team mates are getting. Even I tuk the solutoin from the TFS so there is no chances of a code error any where because we all have downloaded the code from the same place in TFS.

N there shud not b anything wrong with the client browser also on my machine because i can browse the same page from the dev server perfectly. Its just breaking only when i m browsing that page on localhost.

We are using .net framework 4.0, windows 7 and we have AjaxControlToolkit version 1.0 in our project.

the only things which might differ in my case as compared to other machine and server are

- Virtual directory.
