email attachments being dropped from specific mail types

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

We have been using Bright mail and sending attachements to SharePoint without issue until September.

Once into September any attachments comeing from Bright Mail are dropped.

The attachment is in eml file... when timer job kicks off it strips the attachment - body and subject gets delivered....  We are thinking that perhpas with the month of September there is a character restriction??  Since the issue only started in September ... if we send the same atttachement from outlook it gets processed properly.  Wondering if there is possibly some issue between Bright Mail character size and sharepoint??

Any suggestions appreciated!

Email Help (System.Net.Mail)

Hi I have a annoying problem.
I have created a page which takes users details for a quote.

I have then created the form to be emailed to both the user and myself. (Which works fine ATM)

However I would also like to be able to attach a file containing terms and conditions to the email.

I have tried doing this using

EmailMsg.Attachments.Add(new Attachment("C:\\attachme.txt"));

But everytime that line of code is hit it fails and is caught by my try catch.

Take that line out and the email sends fine, put it in and it breaks the whole page.

Am I missing something really obvious?

SSIS 2005 - Send Mail Task - signature appended to email is garbled - unicode problem?

Hi, I'm pretty new to SSIS so go easy on me. I have a Send Mail Task to notify if a file cannot be imported - the mailbody is created on the previous step by a VB.NET script task to include the name of the file and the path it's been archived to. The problem I'm having is that while the body of the email I've created is displaying fine, our company's Exchange server appends a signature to all emails, and this is coming up as undisplayable characters, presumably due to some kind of unicode encoding problem. I've tried casting the email body in an expression to DT_STR (doesn't work as DT_STR "cannot be converted to a supported type" which seems a bit odd but never mind), DT_WSTR (garbled signature), DT_TEXT/DT_NTEXT (strange error on this one - "Attempted to read or write protected memory") none of those ideas worked, and I'm a bit stumped now. Can anyone help? I'm using SSIS 2005 with SP3

Unable to filter the "E-mail To" field in email enabled document library

Hi, We have setup a few email enabled docuement libraries to store emails relating to project work. Is there a way to make the "E-mail To" field in the library be filtered? It is greyed out and doesnt give you the option. The "E-mail From" and "E-mail Subject" are able to have a filter applied to them but for some reason the "E-mail To" field wont let you filter the content. The probelm is that there are over 500 files in the library and the easiest way to find messages is to be able ot filter this column in the library if it is at all possible.

Sending email System.net.mail

Ok here's my problem. I have a contact page with a txtbox for users name, email and message for users to contact me.  When I send the message it goes through, but the senders email is always my email. Even though i have set it to the txtEmail.Text property. So when I reply, it sends me an email. What am I not seeing that I messed up. Also this is running from VS 2005.

                 protected void btnSubmit_Click1(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e)
                {

                 const string toAddress = "myemail@gmail.com";

                    MailAddress from = new MailAddress(txtEmail.Text, txtName.Text);
			        MailAddress to = new MailAddress(toAddress, "Admin");
			        MailMessage message = new MailMessage(from, to);

			        // set properties
			        message.Subject = txtName.Text + " has sent you an email!";
			        message.Body = txtMessage.Text;
                                message.IsBodyHtml = false;

			        //create smtp object
			        SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient();
                               client.EnableSsl = true;

                    try
                    {
                        client.Send(message);
                    }

Embedding hyperlink in email using System.Net.Mail;

My goal is to embed a link in the email.

Purpose is that the user needs to click the link in his email to activate the account.

But my emailbody with the link is just shown as plain-Non clickabel text.

the body text looks like:

Assign permissions on specific list types

Dear folks,

I am wondering if it is possible, with SharePoint 2010, to restrict the users permissions so that specific groups of users can only create lists/libraries from a specific template: currently, if a contributor clicks on the create button, he/she can create several types of libraries/lists (document library, form library, picture library, calendar, contacts, etc.); is it possible to restrict this range of choices so that I can have specific users be able to create only from specific list/library templates (e.g. a user that can create only document libraries but not pictures libraries, records libraries, etc.)?

Thanks a lot

Lorenzo

SP2010 - Email with multiple attachments

We have SP2010 and Exchange 2007 and most users working with Outlook 2007.  I've doen a search but wasn't able to find any relevant information on this site or the web.  We can easily select a document and click the "Email A Link" button in the ribbon and send the email with a link.  What we can't seem to do is select multiple documents and then email the selected links. Is there a setting somewhere for this, another way to do it, or am i just hosed on this one?

thanks!

Hi, I am facing an issue from so long and request you to provide any solution on the same.

I have created a document library and list where currently users are getting auto workflow email every time something gets uploaded to doc lib or list. However the requirement is to consolidate those auto emails so they will only get 1 summary email per day [i.e. all the file details in one email after end of the day which means “all files uploaded after 12pm midnight of (12th Oct) to 12pm midnight of (13th Oct)]

This seems to bit complex task and I was unable to find any solutions for the same. Please help me with the resolution/alternative

Document Library incoming email attachments not showing To/From information

I have a document library setup to accept incoming emails as attachments.

When I send an email the document library receives it, the only problem is it doesn't show any of the header information such as who sent it, who it was sent to, who was CC'ed.  Is there any way to have this information shown?

Basically what I'm expecting to see before the body message is the From, To and CC.

Any help would be most appreciated.
