How to find the max version of a Product stored in a table?

I have a table in which column name is Product_Verion, whcih stored a string value of the versions released in that product. eg like

Product_Version (Column) in Table Product_Details

how to get the latest version? I know we need to parse the "." and check the max version. I am thinking of replacing the ('.') and then take only the numbers in as single digit and get the max digit. Will it give the max version. Please let me know if you have any other better way.

DTA doesn't find referenced table form stored procedure with SP_executesql

Using the SQL2008R2 profiler and DTA connected to a SQL2000 server. I created a tuning tracefile with profiler for a certain db on the sql2000 server because I need to tune 1 table in the database referenced by 3 parameterized stored procedures which built a query depending on the parameters and is executed with an sp_executesql statement. When I run the DTA loading the tracefile I see the exec stored procedure events with it's parameters and the message Event does not reference any tables. And that's it. The DTA generates no Recommendatioin at all. How can I get the exact sql statements in the tracefile so the DTA can do what he needs to do? Regards

I have 3 triggers defined on an sqlserver2008 table and I can't find them with c#

I've got the code below and when I run it, it always says there are 0 triggers in table.Triggers.  I added some debugging code checkin the table.HasDeleteTrigger, etc. and from that, I get the exception: "To accomplish this action, set property HasDeleteTrigger." when I try to set it to bool hasDeleteTrigger. I can get stored procedures find, just not triggers. Below is my problem code: foreach (Database database in databaseCollection) { if (database.Name.Equals(catalogName)) { // first we need to delete triggers associated with all tables that begin // with our prefix. we can skip our the framework tables because those // don't have triggers on them // grab all tables, filter for non prefixed ones in foreach loop so we can delete triggers from non prefixed ones results.AddRange(from Table table in database.Tables select table.Name); foreach (var tableName in results) { var table = new Table(database, tableName, CrSyncDbSchemaName); table.Refresh(); bool hasDeleteTrigger = table.HasDeleteTrigger; bool hasAfterTrigger = table.HasAfterTrigger; bool hasInsertTrigger = table.HasInsertTrigger;

Help: Could not find schema information for the element 'microsoft.web.services2'

(Sorry I may have posted this in a wrong forum earlier) Hi, I've got this problem, trying to add a simple user authentication feature to my web service. I added the code directly copy-paste from MSDN as well as trying load of other ideas why this might happen... I've been getting these "information messages" that practically disables my client application from connecting to the web service. (I'm developing this on my PC, visual web developer 2005) Adding the microsoft.web.services2 section results in: Could not find schema information for the element 'microsoft.web.services2' Could not find schema information for the element 'security' Could not find schema information for the element 'securityTokenManager' Could not find schema information for the element 'type' Could not find schema information for the element 'qname' HELP PLEASE!!! web.config (relevant parts only, I cut out system.web and other sections): <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration> <configSections> <section name = "microsoft.web.services2" type="Microsoft.Web.Services2.Configuration.WebServicesConfiguration, Microsoft.Web.Services2, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"/> </configSections> <microsoft.web.services2> <security> <securityTokenManager type="ServiceNameSpace.User,ServiceNameSpace" xmlns:wsse="ServiceNameSpace"

Encountered "Could not find schema information for the element 'microsoft.web.services3'"

Hi  , I have tried to close my web.config and reopen in VS2005 to re-compile but I still encountered this error :Could not find schema information for the element 'microsoft.web.services3' . I have added in the configSection and any reference for the web.service3. Appreciate anyone who can assist me.  Below are my parts of my web.config : <configSections> <section name="microsoft.web.services3" type="Microsoft.Web.Services3.Configuration.WebServicesConfiguration, Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" /> </configSections> <webServices> <soapExtensionImporterTypes> <add type="Microsoft.Web.Services3.Description.WseExtensionImporter, Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" /> </soapExtensionImporterTypes> <soapServerProtocolFactory type="Microsoft.Web.Services3.WseProtocolFactory, Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" /> </webServices> </system.web> <microsoft.web.services3> <security> <securityTokenManager> <add type="Microsoft.Web.Services3.Security.Tokens.UsernameTokenManager, Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35&qu

Trying to include version history table inside Word document

Running MOSS 2007 with SP1, Office 2007.   I'm trying to create a table (doesn't have to be a table though) of a document's version history inside the document. This would be the history information kept by SharePoint. Since we can't even easily get just the current version number into the document I'm having problems and thought I'd see if anybody has a bright idea.   First, a couple facts. From Word 2007 it is possible to view the Document Library version information by clicking on the Office Button > Server > View Version History. This brings up the following: Click for screenshot   My goal is to get that version information displayed IN the document so when it is printed there is a document history. I tried using IRM label policies, but this only displays the current version and you can't include the comments.   After some digging I found the following code sample on MSDN:   Code SnippetDim dlvVersions As Office.DocumentLibraryVersions    Dim dlvVersion As Office.DocumentLibraryVersion    Dim strVersionInfo As String    Set dlvVersions = ActiveDocument.DocumentLibraryVersions    If dlvVersions.IsVersioningEnabled Then        strVersionInfo = "This document has " & dlvVersions.Count & " versions: " & vbCrLf        For Each dlvVersion In dlvVersions            strVersionInfo = strVersionInfo & _                " - Versi

Accessing table in DBO schema from Stored Procedure in other Schema

I am experiencing a strange issue related to schema qualification at a customer. No matter what we've tried we cannot recreate the issue internally. I am hoping someone can help. We create a Stored Procedure on a schema called "Import". In this stored procedure, we have numerous references to tables on the "dbo" schema, but we have not qualified them (I know this is not best practice, but it's legacy code and we're not going to change it right now). This has been used at other customers without issue. This one new customer is getting an issue where it does not seem to find the dbo table when trying to create the stored procedure. If we take the query out of a stored proceure and just run it as a T-SQL script, it works. So, the code below works select * from Import.Dirsync a join Inventory i on a.Audit_InventoryID = i.InventoryID But this does not. It complains that the column "InventoryID" on the table "Inventory" does not exist. create procedure Import.Test as select * from Import.Dirsync a join Inventory i on a.Audit_InventoryID = i.InventoryID My understanding is that any object on the dbo schema will be resolved. Again, this is working on all other servers with our databases. Any suggestions? Thanks Craig Bryden - Please mark correct answers

Cannot find Table 0

Hi all! Having a bit of an issue here where I'm getting the error "Cannot Find Table 0" when executing an INSERT INTO sql statement. The fishy part is that the code half works -- the new information is submitted to the database. Here the code in question:Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load If Request.Form("TextColContent") = "" Or Request.Form("TextColTitleEN") = "" Or Request.Form("TextColTitleFR") = "" Then 'This is to display the information in the text areas (from database) Dim rst1 'As New DataTable Dim rst2 'As New DataTable Dim rst3 'As New DataTable rst1 = ExecSQLSelect("SELECT Top 1 News_Item_Content FROM r_BI_Welcome_News ORDER BY News_Item_ID DESC") rst2 = ExecSQLSelect("SELECT Top 1 News_Item_Title_EN FROM r_BI_Welcome_News ORDER BY News_Item_ID DESC") rst3 = ExecSQLSelect("SELECT Top 1 News_Item_Title_FR FROM r_BI_Welcome_News ORDER BY News_Item_ID DESC") formOpen.Text = "<FORM Action='add_news.aspx' Method='Post'>" textarea1.Text = "<TEXTAREA Rows=1 Cols=48 Name='TextColTitleEN'>" & rst2.Rows(0)("N

How to calculate a SQL Server performance of a query based upon table schema, table size, and availa

Schema comparer mistake in table-valued function (Nullability in column definition)

Hello. In my database i have table valued function. In its definition nullability of column is not set directly. This column has a user-defined data type. So the question is: is this column nullable? As i can see here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms174979.aspx   When column nullability is not explicitly specified, column nullability follows the rules shown in the following table. Column data type Rule Alias data type The Database Engine uses the nullability that is specified when the data type was created. To determine the default nullability of the data type, use sp_help. It should be not null, as user defined type is declared as not null. SMO says, that column is not null, but schema compare says it is nullable. Who is wrong and why?

Managing TypedDataSets when there is a change in backend Table / Stored Procedure / Database schema

Hi All, I am just curious to know if there is any easier way to synchronize the TypedDataSets with the chages made to backend Table / Stored Procedure schema.  I use Typed DataSets in my project extensively and I found them very useful and easier to code, but difficult to maintain  The difficuly I have always faced is whenever there is a change in a backend database table structure or stored procedure that is linked to any of the Typed DataSet in our project requires to recreate whole DataSet again by scrapping the old one. The backend changes will not be reflected unless and untill you recreate the whole stuff again. Is there any easier way to synchronize those typed datasets with the changes made to backend database schema or any other workaround that will not required to recreate the whole DataSet again.Hope above question makes sense. Any ideas.
