Does anyone know if I can use SSIS configuration files to map a network drive?
Any help would be appreciated

Hello, just wanted to ask a question about SSIS and SharePoint, any input will be greatly appreciated.... did search the forum but could not find anything....
So basically we have a SQL Server DB with the metadata ONLY, WITHOUT the related files(doc/ppt/pdf..etc) which should've been in the DB and they are on a separate web server inside folders. Each row in the DB has a key (column) which matches the related
folder's name, so for row with ID #112, there's a folder named ID112 on the web server with the relevant files inside. There could be more than 8+ files for one folder.
Now, I think it is possible but just wanted to double check, would it be possible to use SSIS and some kind of a script to get the metadata inside the SQL DB AND the related files inside those folders, combine & relate them and
upload them into SharePoint as a custom list with file attachments? would they display the attachment normally (like the paperclip icon in a sharepoint list...etc) I wonder if anyone has tried this...
Any guidance, thoughts, suggestions for other solutions, inputs will be great!!! Thank you!!
I have an application that is deployed into multiple machines and each machine requires a number of specific configuration entries. I was hoping to pick the brains of this group for the best way to mange configuration entries (connection strings, app settings,
sevice model, etc.) for multiple machines. I was hoping to have a configuration file that changing one entry would change all of the configuration settings that the application sees. Best would be for the application to "auto detect" the "right" configuration
entries but I would be happy if I could limit the configuration edits to one entry. Ideas?
I went through other threads and links on this subject. Still one thing which concerns me is the config files.My current folder path is C:\Karunakaran\folder1\folder2\Under folder2 I have the following files4 dtsx files1 .database file1 .dtproj file1 .dtproj.user file1 .sln file1 .suo fileConfig folder ( C:\Karunakaran\folder1\folder2\Config\)common.dtsConfigoracle.dtsConfigBased on some of the threads, when I enabled package configuration, I changed the path fromC:\Karunakaran\folder1\folder2\Config\common.dtsconfig ->ÃÂ common.dtsconfigOnce I did this, when I open the project I get a dozen of warning similar to the one belowWarning loading <package1>.dtsx: Failed to load at least one of the configuration entries for the package. Check configurations entries and previous warnings to see descriptions of which configuration failed.What am I doing wrong here? If I have to deploy this to another box, what should I do to ensure that nothing breaks once its copied / installed?Thanks
I could not find the exact details on how to create a SSIS script that would ftp files on these forums, so I am adding my code to help save time for anyone else that might be wanting to do something similar.ÃÂ Here is the VB code for my script task to FTP files (hope this helps someone):
' Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Script Task
' Write scripts using Microsoft Visual Basic
' The ScriptMain class is the entry point of the Script Task.
it is possible to start ssis packages with dtexec and set variables as package configuration like this:
dtexec.exe /SQL "\mart1\import_fact_calls" /SERVER "R08" /SET \package.variables[FullImport].Value;True
Now I'm trying to start a package via script task with this code:
Public Sub Main()
Dim pkg As New Package
Dim app As New Application
Dim pkgResults As DTSExecResult
If Dts.Variables("package").Value <> "" Then
pkg = app.LoadFromSqlServer(Dts.Variables("package").Value, "R08", "USER", "PASS", Nothing)
pkgResults = pkg.Execute()
Dts.TaskResult = ScriptResults.Success
How can I add a package configuration like the one with dtexec to the script code?
I like any ideas, links, docus ... Thanks!
I have a directory with 200+ txt files to import into SQL tables in a database. Each file name is the exact table name in the database(without the file extension, obviously). I am looping through each file with a for each loop and a variable is mapped and
set in the source connection properties for the Expressions -> ConnectionString property, so each name will go into that variable without the file extensions, correct? Now, I set the variable name to the table name in the destination for the table
name under "Data Access Mode", but it is giving an error...do I have to assign variables to each part, (Connection String and Name)? Does anyone have a quick setup for this?
I am having a random error with my package(trying to generate fixed length text file using Ragged Right from one sql server table).
Data looks like for most of the runs(good data):
However, maybe for 1 out of 10-20 runs, some rows appear to be deleted misteriously(log shows everything fine and I am sure there is no other procoess update the file). This can happen anywhere(but just only at 1 place ). SSIS didn't provide any error or
warning, it even says it inserted correct number of rows in the log.
Sometimes data generated like this:
Have anyone seen this kind of error before. I have tried e
