Posted By:      Posted Date: October 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have set up the webpart: My Inbox on the publishing portal. And I want to display the inbox of whom is logged in at the current time.

What do I have to put in the field "mailbox" to show the inbox of the current user logged in ?

I have windows authentication on. If I enter the "http://mail.domain.com/exchange" I have direct access.

I have tried values like

But if I take a closer look at the link this results in I get the values hardcoded (example: mail.domain.com/exchange/%username%/........")

automatic logon using claims based FBA??

I have been using a IHttpModule that performs automatic logon on a forms based authentication using a custom membership provider. This has worked well using any .net asp.net application including SharePoint 2007. The IHttpModule listens for the AuthorizeRequest event of the application and if the user isn't logged in it uses the FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(principal.Identity.Name, persistentCookie); to perform the "login". When I tried this on SharePoint 2010 using a claims based FBA, adding my custom membership provider as documented, I ran into some problems. First, the identity name that needed to be set in the SetAuthCookie was not the normal username, it seemed to be on a syntax like 0#.f|membershipProviderName|UserName If I used this instead (replacing membershipProviderName and UserName) with the actual ones, the login seemed to work (it felt like a hack tough and perhaps there is some better way to do this?) After a bit of testing the site the most seemed to work (a plain SharePoint 2010 site), but when I clicked on a list link (like calendar, events or announcements) I was given a servererror as below.   Has anyone any idéas? /Dan   Server Error in '/' Application. <nativehr>0x8107058a</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object. SharePoint 2010 - "My Inbox"(OWA) webpart not working with Exchange 2010

Hi, I'm trying to setup the webpart "My Inbox" (OWA) in SharePoint 2010. It works when connecting to OWA running exchange 2007, but failes with error 400 not found when connecting to OWA running Exchange 2010. The error appears after logging in.  I'm using this url: https://<exchangeserver>/owa I assume that this should be supported by Exchange 2010, but it seems to fail using this parameter /?cmd=contents. Any suggestions?   Best regards, Petter

Automatic vs Explicit Properties

If the reason that motivated the change from automatically implemented property to explicitly implemented property was to change the semantics of the property then you should evaluate whether the desired semantics when accessing the property from within the class are identical to or different from the desired semantics when accessing the property from outside the class.

Proxy Detection: Take the Burden Off Users with Automatic Configuration in .NET

Proxy settings can be a real pain in the neck and very frustrating for users to configure properly. In this article, Durgaprasad Gorti discusses how you can use automatic proxy configuration via script and how it works in the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0.

Garbage Collection-Part 2: Automatic Memory Management in the Microsoft .NET Framework

The first part of this two-part article explained how the garbage collection algorithm works, how resources can clean up properly when the garbage collector decides to free a resource's memory, and how to force an object to clean up when it is freed. The conclusion of this series explains strong and weak object references that help to manage memory for large objects, as well as object generations and how they improve performance. In addition, the use of methods and properties for controlling garbage collection, resources for monitoring collection performance, and garbage collection for multithreaded applications are covered.

Garbage Collection: Automatic Memory Management in the Microsoft .NET Framework

Garbage collection in the Microsoft .NET common language runtime environment completely absolves the developer from tracking memory usage and knowing when to free memory. However, you'll want to understand how it works. Part 1 of this two-part article on .NET garbage collection explains how resources are allocated and managed, then gives a detailed step-by-step description of how the garbage collection algorithm works. Also discussed are the way resources can clean up properly when the garbage collector decides to free a resource's memory and how to force an object to clean up when it is freed.

Error in / Application after adding employee search in webpart

Hello everyone,

I am working on sharepoint 2007 and I was editing the webpart of the software and after adding the predefined employee search table, the server has crashed while trying to access the server remotely with the following error message:

Error in / Application

However, while trying to login locally I have no problem and can easily login.

What will be the course of action in fixing this error.

Also the site is complaining of an invalid certificate even after adding an exception.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Chris Stanko

Instead of going to Office button --> Workflows --> Start "Budget Approval", start the workflow by setting a value inside Excel (and maybe saving the file) to "Completed".
