"Read Only" Access Error when checking in documents from outlook

We are accessing our sharepoint services 3.0 document library through outlook 2007.

We can open the files in word/excel etc, but when we go to check-in the document the application tells us that we only have read access to the document, and cant check the document back in to the server.

It works fine via the browser, the read only problem is only when checking out through outlook.

I have given all users full access and design access to the doc library.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Outlook integration - is it possible to view and reschedule Outlook appointments from ASP.NET

Is it possible to view and reschedule Outlook appointments from an ASP.NET web application?  Is there an API for Outlook integration?I found an article showing how to create a new Outlook appointment - but it seems like more of an "open the appointment file on the client computer and let the user send it from Outlook" kind of thing - not an API where my code creates the appointment.  It seems to generate a .vcs file which can be opened on the client computer and it opens as an Outlook appointment that can be sent from Outlook. It works, I tried it - http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/create-appointment-file-download-from-aspnet-send-mail-attachment.aspx So I can create an appointment ... but could I view, move, or delete appointments once they are created?  I feel like I need some sort of API to do those thingsThank you in advance!!

Improvements with Sharepoint and Outlook calendar integration?

The "Connect to Outlook" feature is a great feature to synchronize Outlook 2007 and Sharepoint 2007. It allows showing events created from Sharepoint calendars in Outlook. But for me, there are some limitations that really blocked some users of using Sharepoint calendar:

- even if users can detect manually conflicts in outlook between sharepoint events and their own events of their own Outlook calendar, there is no automatic alert.
- when creating events from Sharepoint, users cannot invit attendees
- if users have already created an event into their own outlook calendar, their is no way to publish it to Sharepoint

Actually I would like to know if Sharepoint 2010 and Outlook 2010 will improve these points.

Thank you.

Outlook 2010 Discussion Board integration - Synchronization issues

I have experienced the following situation:

  1. "Connect to Outlook" a discussion board from ClientPC1
  2. Change (add/delete) items discussion board entries from ClientPC2
  3. Back at ClientPC1 , ensure all folders are synchronized.

All items are not, for example, 'Removed' from the SharePoint information store list on Outlook on ClientPC1

The items are correctly reported on the SharePoint site.

Outlook Social Connector and Activity Feed error

I am testing out the Outlook Social Connector. The Facebook and LinkedIn providers work great, however when I try the MySite provider
I receive an XML validation error.

The connection appears to be successful however when I click on "Finish" in the dialog I get the error message. This is the standard

Using Fiddler, I see:

The error is presented after the UserProfileService call. After clicking Ok, I see the final request.

SharePoint list connected to outlook is not trusted because of certification error

in our environment users have several SharePoint (WSS 3.0) contact lists, calendars etc. connected with Outlook 2007. But each time they start Outlook it gives them a certificate warning with message "The name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site".

The users access the SharePoint site strictly using the URL https://sharepoint.ourcompany.com. The certificate is issued by our certification authority and the CA's certificate is installed on users' computers. So when they access the site using IE, there is no certificate warning.

Is Outlook somehow using the internal URL of the server and that is why the names don't match? Is there a way to change the URL? Or is there a way to say to Outlook "ignore this warning for this URL forever and ever"

It is not critical but it bothers when you have to always click "Yes".

Thanks for any advice.
