WpfDataGrid make cell background fill entire cell

Hi!  I'm setting DataGridColumn.CellStyle to a background color and to a horizontal alignment. If I do not set the horizontal alignment the whole cell is filled with the background color but if i set the horizontal alignment the background color only is shown behind the text in the cell. I've seen some workarounds to this problem (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1379902/setting-column-background-in-wpf-listview-gridview, setting the Margins on the DataGrid and the Cell margin) but it does not work for me. The background is still only shown behind the text   private void ApplyCellStyle(Style defaultColumnStyle, DataGridColumn dataGridColumn, Color backgroundColor, HorizontalAlignment horizontalAlignment) { var style = new Style(typeof(DataGridCell), defaultColumnStyle); var backgroundPropertySetter = new Setter { Property = Control.BackgroundProperty, Value = new SolidColorBrush(backgroundColor) }; var horizontalAlignmentPropertySetter = new Setter { Property = FrameworkElement.HorizontalAlignmentProperty, Value = horizontalAlignment }; style.Setters.Add(horizontalAlignmentPropertySetter); style.Setters.Add(backgroundPropertySetter); dataGridColumn.CellStyle = style; }   Does anyone know a solution to this problem?    Regards, Lina

Make modal popup scroll with page

I've got a modal popup and when it loads contents that are taller than the browser height I am unable to scroll down to view the rest of the information. Instead the background can scroll but the popup won't, I'd like to have the popup stay in place so the users can see the bottom of the modal.

How to make menus play Menu Popup sound

Programming in C# for .NET Framework 3.5:

I've noticed my Windows Forms menus (ToolStripMenuItems on a MenuStrip) do not make proper menu popup sounds when they open (a problem curiously shared by many flagship Microsoft applications, lately). How is this remedied? Is there just some flag I need to set somewhere? Or am I going to have to make a subclass of <some-ToolStrip*-class > and override <whatever-method-that-executes-when-menus-pop-up > so it properly makes sound? A bit of a daunting task for someone new to the language/library, however necessary.

If in fact the latter is necessary, any suggestions regarding the best class+method to override for the purpose?  Keeping in mind that I'd also like menu popup sounds for context menus, too.

modal popup and background page not grayed out.

using .net 4.0 and trying to open a modalpopup with grid loading; it pops up but doesn't grayout the rest of the page, allowing more clicking on the grid. I want the page to grayout with modalpopup and disable any further activity until the grid is loaded.

Please help me if you can.

How do I make it possible for a popup to come up, based upon the selection a user makes in a grid vi

I've got a ListView object, with a GridView within it, where I'll be putting data.  The list view is in SingleMode.  I want it so that the user can select a row, and based upon criteria in that row, it would then bring up a popup display relevant data to the selected row.

There are 2 possible ways I envision this could happen.  I could put a button somewhere in the row (at this point I don't know how, but I'm sure it can be done), so that if the user clicks on the button, then my code would determine what it needs to from that client, to bring up the popup and display the additional data.

The second way I can envision this happening is I could make one of the columns a hyperlink field, still showing the data that column has to show for that row.  When the user clicks on the hyperlink, then it would bring up the same popup that I discribed for the first scenario.  However, again, I don't know how to do this.

So the question is, which is the "correct" or "more common" way of doing it, and how is it done?  (I'm working with VS 2010, so this is WPF 4).

How Do I Enable Inline GridView Editing?

Now that you have created a site with Edit and Details views, how do you enable inline editing in a GridView control? This video shows you how, and also touches on routing.

GridView inline Master/Detail record display

This code drop is part of a smash and grab series. If you're in a rush, you can just grab this code and insert it into your application, no understanding is required. When you have some time (ya, right) you may want to review the source code.

Using ATLAS PopUp Control with Calendar inside the GridView Control

In this video tutorial Mohammad demonstrates how you can access the Calendar control which is displayed using the ATLAS PopUp control inside the GridView control.

Modal popup window in ASP.Net

Alternating row background for first column of a report

is there a way to make the first column of a report use the an alternating background color?

I have the background color set for the entire row however it does not work for the first column if the color is set to an expression.  If I just set it to a color i.e. red it works just fine. If I insert a dummy column to the left it works just fine (but the dummy column does not work, presumably because it is first??).

In the file below only the textbox for part number does not show an alternating background.  All others work correctly.

Beginner: this doesn't make sense to me

Do you need and "empty" script tag in the head to run scripts that are in the body?  Also, can you run JQuery scripts if they're in the <head> tag?  The first sample only works if the JQuery script is in the form (and body) tag, not in the head - even if I add $(document).ready(function() { });

This works

<head runat="server">
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js" />
<script type="text/javascript">
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<a href="">Here is a link</a>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('a').click(function () {
alert("you clicked me!");

This doesn't work.  Notice I removed the second <script> tag from the head

<head runat="serve
