Posted By:      Posted Date: October 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi, we are looking to have internal users submit a browser based Infopath form hosted on our internal Sharepoint 2010 portal, have that submission start a workflow that converts the form to a .doc or .pdf, attaches the converted form to an email and then sends the email to different external addresses depending on the value of 1 field in the form.  Is this possible?

We are running Sharepoint 2010 Enterprise and I have Infopath 2010 and Sharepoint Designer 2010.  Thank you in advance for any help!

Insert image into Infopath form and save to SharePoint as PDF file

I have an InfoPath web-enabled form in MOSS 2007, that is integrated with a K2 blackpoint process for an approval workflow.

Once the form (a Purchase Order request form) has been approved in the K2 workflow process, I switch the form view to a "print-friendly" view for the requestor to view from the browser.  However, now I need to go one step further with this scenario:

1) I need to somehow insert/embed an image with the scanned-in signature of the approver (likely stored in a SP doc library) at the signature line section of my form.  Also, what are the security requirements for storing such images, but not granting all users access to these (e.g. only services accounts that need to access this for embedding into the form, etc.)?

2) Then I need to convert this final "print-friendly" view of the form (with the signature image) to a PDF document so that I can store it in SharePoint (and email it to the requestor using K2's email event capabilities).

Can anyone help me with a solution to both of these requirement, or point me to some resources for this (even 3rd party components are open-game).

Problem to open infopath form : The file cannot be opened because it is not a valid InfoPath form

Hi i have a winform app which host of infopath forms. form templates and data stores in database and when user want to open/edit an existing infopath form data, it must be extract from database, save on disk and then open it to display it in formControl. my problem is that when i open form data, after it has been extracted on disk, i got this error : InfoPath cannot open the following file: C:\Users\Hamed\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\InfopathFormTest2\InfopathFormTest2\bin\Debug\d00d73e8-cf5c-4b12-b9a6-591c4ade83aa.xml. There has been an error while loading the form - The following file is not a valid InfoPath form tem

We’re experiencing quite an odd issue with opening forms within a SharePoint form library. These are the symptoms;

We recently published a newer version of an InfoPath form, and have since received some feedback that the form no longer opens in the “View Properties” view of SharePoint.

Rather interesting though, within the standard view all form instances can be opened with no problem.

The reason this has to work within the “View Properties” view of SharePoint is because we have a workflow that is sent, with a link to this particular page.

This is the error message that is displayed;

There has been an error while

Email InfoPath form located on secure SharePoint 2007 using Outlook

I have a 2007 InfoPath form that is stored on a secure 2007 SharePoint team site that needs to be emailed to outside users for feedback on a certain subject. The form is opened by a team member (with site access), sent to the reviewer to provide feedback (via Outlook 2007), and then submitted back to the team member for review and submission to the SharePoint site.

The issue I've encountered is that the outside user who receives the form in Outlook as the body of the email cannot enter information in any fields in order to provide feedback. The option to "include the form template with the email" is blocked in my InfoPath form options (I believe because the form location is a secured site). I have tried adding the users to permissions in just the library where the form is published to, but they still cannot enter any information.

Can someone provide me with a solution for this problem?

Infopath 2007 form error - Selected file is too large

We are using Inforpath form to capture some metadata along with couple of file attachments. We implemented that and its working fine

When we tested by trying to upload file more than 5 MB we got the following error

"The selected file is too large and is causing the form to exceed the amount of allowable resources. Select Another File"

During its analysis we found that this can be resolved by changing one of the "Infopath forms service " configuration named "Maximum size of form session state".

Is there any issue (like performance issues) in increasing this limit to allow us to upload the large attachment

In other words

In the Maximum size of form session state text box, type the maximum session state size in kilobytes. Form-filling sessions that exceed this value will terminate, an error message will be generated, and all form data entered during the session will be lost. The default value is 4096 kilobytes.

If I make this value to 10240 kilobytes (10 MB) ; will this cause any performance issues ??

Infopath send form as email

I have created a infopath form and it is published to a sharepoint 2007 with form services.
We use a support system, that only support plain/text, how can I convert the output to plain/text ?
When infopath automatically converts the form to plain/text, i does not look good.
I would like a format like:

Field1: Value1
Field2: Value2

And another thing, is it possible to use the users email as sender, and not the email setup in our sharepoint environment ?
Every email sent from sharepoint / infopath, is sent from: noreply@domain.tld
I would like: user@domain.tld (user = the user who is logged in)

Automatically send custom email to upon InfoPath form submission

I would like to have an InfoPath form automatically send out and email upon submission.

I would like the email to be comprised of content from the fields of the form. For example:

To: <data from the "Manager" field>

From: <data from the "Requester" field>

Subject: You have a request for <data from the "Project Name" Field>.

Body: Hi <Manager>,

I would like more information on <Project>

-< Requester >

Is this possible? It doesn't need to be part of a workflow, we just want the relevant manager aware of the request.

InfoPath form submission error: You do not have permission to create a file in this location.

I have created an InfoPath 2007 form and published it to a SharePoint 2007 site. We use active directory authentication. The library has contribute rights for all authenticated users. The site itself has restricted read for all authenticated users (so they don't see the site actions button). An employee can open the form (locally in InfoPath), but when they click submit the authentication window pops up. Putting in credentials does nothing. Clicking cancel gives this error:

InfoPath cannot submit the form.
Some rules were not applied.
An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
The form cannot be submitted to the following location: ....... (path to library)
You do not have permission to create a file in this location.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

Not able to publish an infopath 2010 Web browser form mode, Invalid form template, .xsf file not ref

Hi, i am migrating a infopath 2007 form from a sharepoint 2007 site to infopath 2010 form for a sharepoint 2010 site. I used the design checker to verify the form template ,I got a invalid form template error. So I went to the Resource files tab under the developer section. I edited the context.xml to my current site. After this, the design checker gave no errors.

But when i tried to preview this form, I got an erro saying

"The form template contains files that are not referenced in the form definition (.xsf) file or are referenced more than once."

Can anybody tell me where I went wrong?

Formatting problem with Email from an Browser Enabled InfoPath 2010 Form in SharePoint 2010

I'm creating a form in InfoPath 2010 to be filled out in the browser within our SharePoint 2010 instance. It's pretty simple, four columns with total table width of about 650 pixels, textboxes, checkboxes, datepicker and one multiselect list box. The form is working fine up to the point where I invoke a data connection which emails the form to myself. When it arrives in my inbox, the format of the form included in the body of the email is funky. When I open the email and set it to a full screen viewing window (1440X900) the area that takes up the form exceeds the width of my viewing window and requires scroll bars to see all the fields on the form.

When printing the form from my email the area is so large that no data will show up in the printable area (it appears to be centered on the form and it is cutting off the "extra content" to the left and right which contains the form data as the user entered it). I'm using Outlook 2007. I also forwarded the email to a person who's using Outlook 2010 and they experienced the same problems as myself.

Things I've tried to fix it: Setting each column width, setting each control width to a pixel length (instead of using %). I added some code behind to switch the view to a two column view with a table width of 400px before it sends out the email. It's closer to being at a state where it's

Uploading a file over 1mb in InfoPath task form causes workflow to error

I have created a custom workflow which requires a file to be uploaded using an InfoPath task form. When i upload a file under 1mb the workflow completes and its status is shown as Completed. However; when a file over 1mb is uploaded, the task completes and the workflows status is shown as In Progress for roughly 1 minute, after which the status changes to Error Occured. The strange thing is the workflow has completed as the document is taken from the InfoPath task form and uploaded to a document library successfuly, as the workflow has been developed to do.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue and what is causing this to happen? The error logs show nothing and i have configured InfoPath forms services to allow documents up to 50mb in size.

Any help would be much appreciated

Why is Infopath Form File Attachment not getting saved after submit?

VS2008 and InfoPath 2007 in Workflow

I am having an issue on an Infopath form that is for a workflow task. When I add a File Attachement to a File Attachment Control this works fine. However, when I submit the form and then go back into it I see the attachment is not there. Basicallly on a submit it is not embedding the file.

The field is called "CreativeArtwork". This Infopath field has no default, but is of type (base64). Is it getting overwritten by internal default?

Can anyone help?
