Execute JS from Server

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 03, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I am writing a program to automatically log a user in to an external website. I will be scraping the page using one of the standard methods (webclient or httpwebrequest). The problem, however, is that the login button itself executes some javascript when it is clicked.

In a nutshell, how can my server execute the remoteButton.click() javascript method?

Is the server itself able to execute javascript? I am currently using 2.0 but I can upgrade to any version if it will solve my problem. Thanks!

HttpContext.Items and Server.Transfer/Execute

The problem was basically that when a Server.Transfer call was applied the script container (and also various ClientScriptProxy script embedding routines) would potentially fail to load up the specified scripts.

ASP Development Server doesn't appear to execute JQuery?

Experienced a really strange problem today. I added a jquery script to my MVC application to collapse sections of a View (via divs).

Pretty standard stuff, he showed me the script working before hand and it works.

However any time I would run my MVC app via Visual Studio the script would not work. I changed browsers, re-imported the code from source control and basically me and my co-worker banged our heads together for some time trying to figure out why the exact same code was running different on two machines.

Publishing the MVC app to our web server and running worked for both machines but for some bizarre reason when I ran it on my VS it never did.

One thought that came to mind is that by VS uses the cassini default lightweight webserver for debugging, whereas my co-worker is using IIS.

This seems to suggest then that the ASP Development server does not support JQuery. Is this true and if not, what could the problem be?

Execute SSIS PAckage on Remote Server

I've seen several posts pertaining to this topic, but none of them covers what I'm having an issue with. I'm trying to create a "master job server". Essentially, I want to control all maintenance jobs from one central location. I've created SSIS packages that handle full backups, transaction log backups, index rebuilding, etc. on all of my production boxes. I've stored those packages in SQL Server. What I'd like to do now is create a separate job for each of those tasks on one central SQL Server and run those packages from there. I've been successful in creating a test job. The only step in the job is an SSIS PAckage execution step. The step successfully found the package I want to execute on the target server. When the job ran, I got the follwoing error: The job failed.  Unable to determine if the owner (ADMINSYS\arobinsf) of job SFO2PQE03 - Database Backup (FULL) has server access (reason: Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'ADMINSYS\arobinsf', error code 0x2751. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 15404)). I want to make sure this job is executing on the remote server and not trying to execute locally. Is there something I'm missing in the set up of this job? I should also mention that the SSIS packages were created in SQL2K5, but I'm executing them from SSMS for SQL2K8. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! A. M. Robinson

How can I get a list of users that are able to start/stop/execute jobs on sql server?

I know that the users with sysadmin roles are able to start/stop/execute jobs but I wonder if there are another roles or permissions that enable users to do this.   regards,

SSMS 2008 Activity Monitor Activity Monitor is unable to execute queries against server (SQL Server

I get the following error when running SQL Server SSMS 2008 (32-bit) on my (Windows 7 64-bit) workstation against our SQL Server 2005 (32-bit) development server running Windows Server 2003 (32-bit): TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio ------------------------------ The Activity Monitor is unable to execute queries against server <my server\instance name>. This is true for all instances on that server. The SSMS 2005 Activity Monitor (also on my workstation) works fine when connected to that server. I checked for the registry setting to disable the performance counters on both my machine and the server, and it was not there. I started the Performance Counter DLL Host on my machine, but that made no difference. I can see all Processor counters on the server from my local Performance Monitor. I ran "lodctr /R" on both systems, but that didn't help. The only SQL counters I see on the server (from my workstation) are SQLServer:SSIS Pipeline and SQLServer:SSIS

Tried to "use he context menu in the overview pane to resume the Activity Monitor" and got the same error again.

Installed sql 2008 in my XP machine, I can use Activity Monitor (AM) for local instance but cannot launch it for the instance on the server (same error).

Used windows authentication with sysadmin role for connection from my machine. On the server used domain\administrator that the account created the instance.

Please help.

SQL Server 2005 permissions error. The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object "xp_instance_reg

I have a SQL Server host running SQL 2005 9.00.4294 x86 Standard Edition running on Windows build 2195 SP4.  My client workstation is running only SQL Server 2005 workstaion components.   When a user of the host who has db_owner access attempts to view the properties of a table by right-clicking the table and then clicking Properties, the following error mesage is displayed:

"The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object "xp_instance_regread", database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'

For security purposes, I do not want to grant execute on xp_instance_regread to these users. Does anyone know of a workaround that will allow members of db_owner to access table properties using the abovementioned method and does not require execute access to be granted?

The search request was unable to execute on FAST Search Server

Yesterday Fast search service (and MOSS) works fine. But today after restarting Fast search service I've got an error in client applications: The search request was unable to execute on FAST Search Server.

Anyway Fast Search for Sharepoint (node controller) service is running, but every ~30 seconds my Windows Event Log fills with an exception:

SQL Server 2008 query execution time is different if i execute it in management studio or from code

When I execute query from software which i wrote in c# it required lots of time to complete but if I execute exactly the same query from management studio it will be done in seconds. In both cases execution plan is the same.

Execute DDL Task logging disappears after applying SQL Server 2008 SP2

I am using various SSIS packages to manage different Analysis Services (SSAS) databases.  The packages create the necessary DDL for processing the dimensions and partitions in the SSAS databases and then run the DDL using Execute DDL tasks.

I've been using SSIS logging to capture the log information for the Execute DDL Tasks and directing that log data to a SQL Server table.  I've noticed that since the application of SP2 I only get the 'Started building processing schedule.' log message for the Execute DDL Tasks and none of the other event log entries.

This has happened at a couple of the sites that I support.  Install SP2 = no logging (with the one exception) from the Execute DDL Task steps.

Is this a known issue?  I did a couple of searches and didn't find anything.

Unable to execute system stored procedures - SQL Server 2000, SP4

I am unable to execute system stored procedures on a SQL Server 2000 server, running Windows 2003, SP1. If I try to run sp_updatestat I recieve a 2758 error after it updates a few tables. If I run sp_recompile, it returns the same error. If I run DBCC CHECKDB on the master database, it reruns a blank screen. Database and T-Log dumps work without issue. This started all of a sudden. I have restarted SQL as well as rebooted the server. Everything came up clean. Need advice desperately.

Unable to execute system stored procedures - SQL Server 2000, SP4

I have a SQL Server 2000, SP 4 running on a Windows 2003 server with SP1. All of a sudden I am unable to execute system stored procedures. When I try to run sp_updatestats 'RESAMPLE' it will update the stats of a couple of tables and then return a 2758 error. I have tried to run DBCC CHECKDB on the master database which returns a blank screen. Database and transaction log dumps are working without an issue. Everything on all other databases works without a problem. I have restarted SQL Server as well as rebooted the server. Everything comes up clean. Cannot find anything on this type of problem and am desperate.
