Parser Error, Global_asax

Hi all, I've been working with Visual Studios 2010 for a couple months now and every now and then it starts telling me it can't compile something that has been running with no issues, and no changes done to it. I have done a lot of research to figure this out and generally I end up getting the majority of answers is to "Rebuild" or "Build" the project. When I do that I have to deal with an entirely different issue and it takes me nearly a full day to get the thing running again and most often I just have to create a new project and copy the same exact files into this new project, add the files to that new project by hand and it works with no issues. Now there has to be a faster/better way to deal with this issue. I will post the information I find may be pertinet to this issue and hopefully somebody can tell me how to stop wasting large amounts of time on this issue. I have had to deal with this at least once a week since I started using VS2010 doing VB.net and ASP.net 4 code writing.   Parser Error Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Strange: Parser Error: Could not load type '_Default'.

i donot have any intentions till now of uploading my web project and just started working on MS VS9.0I made a simple Linq based project (CODE BEHIND used)AS i compiled it i got Parser Error: Could not load type '_Default'.I figured out 2 solutions for this(WHICH I CUDNT FIND IN MANY FORUMS). But nt sure...why doing them solves the problem.SOL 1)The easy way out is to uncheck "place the code in the seperate file" while adding an item.and then adding the statement <%@ Import Namespace="System.Linq" %> on top of ur aspx as in:<%@ Page Language="C#" %><%@ Import Namespace="System.Linq" %><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">---FURTHER CODE----Sol2)If  we deal whith the CODE behind technique....and have already used "USING System.Linq; in the definition,I found a funny solution to the problem.In ur default page...the top line is<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="<namespace>.<class>" %>Now if i change the keyword from CodeBehind to CodeFile as in:<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="<namespace>.<class>

Hi, I am working on a project that has a Master Page which has a dropdown list that involves JS and CSS. I have another page that uses that master page. The other page also has html codes with JS and CSS regarding a popup box, when i place the codes regarding the popup box into the other page, there is an error. They state that is a parser error, but I do not know how to solve it. Thanks for any help.

SQL Query within a form fails with "parser error" - syntax not correct?

Hello, I've created an Expression Web form with a SQL datasource which is doing a query/select statement.

Somehow it appears that I'm making a syntax error. When I divide the query in two and execute them separate, it works fine.

I need to filter for an EventType, Region and Today's date + a custom interval (like 7 day's for a week)

The parameters come from a search form where the user can select these values via a dropdown list.

The two separate (and working) queries within my form are:

Query nr.1 :

"Select * from Events WHERE  (([EventType] LIKE '%' + @EventType + '%') AND ([Region] LIKE '%' + @Region + '%'))">

<asp:formparameter DefaultValue="%" FormField="EventType" />

<asp:formparameter DefaultValue="%" FormField="Region" />

Query nr.2 :

"SELECT * FROM Events

WHERE StartDate &gt;= DATEDIFF(DAY, 0, CURRENT_TIMESTAMP) AND StartDate &lt; DATEADD(DAY, @NrDays, DATEDIFF(DAY, 0, CURRENT_TIMESTAMP));">

<SelectParameters>

Parser Error Message:

I am brand new at ASP.Net but thought I could give this a go.  Right off the bat, I get this following error:

Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'WebApplication1._Default'.
Line 1:  <%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.vb" Inherits="WebApplication1._Default" %>
Line 2

I have tried removing the Inherits="WebApplication1._Default" and then I get the following error:

Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.DataVisualization, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I have not been able to find anything on the web that seems to shed any light on this for me.  I'm trying  allow a user to input some metric data, then create a graph using that data.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Vic

Parser Error Message : Code blocks are not allowed in this file

I've used inline coding in my javascript functions to get the clientID of the controls in the runtime as

 <%= ctrl.ClientID %>

But i'm getting the parser error. Also i'm getting

"The event handler OnClick is not allowed in this page".

So i modified the web.config to add a page parser -

<PageParserPaths>
        <PageParserPath VirtualPath="/*" CompilationMode="Always" AllowServerSideScript="true" IncludeSubFolders="true" />
</PageParserPaths>

But i'm still getting the same error. I've cross checked lot of times whether i'm modifying the correct web.config.

Any ideas?

Raghavendra

Parser Error with @helper

I have an @helper defined in a cshtml file that I am using to dynamically generate some javascript.

It goes something like this:

@helper myHelper(int serverValue) {

<script language="text/javascript">
function checkValue (clientValue)
{
if (clientValue < @serverValue) {
return true;
} else {
return false;
}

}
</script>
}

This code is a heavily simplified version, but the problem is the same. When I try to call this helper, I get a parser error on the "<" symbol in my javascript function:

"Tag is missing a name.  All tags must contain a valid tag name after the '<' character.".

Basically, if I have any javascript that uses the greater-than or less-than symbols, I get parser errors and can only get around this by doing something like:

@helper myHelper(int serverValue) {

<script language="text/javascript">
function checkValue (clientValue)
{
if (clientValue @Html.Raw("<") @serverValue) {
return true;
} else {
return false;
}

}
</script>
}

Notice the use of Html.Raw() above. It works, but is ugly and definitely less razor-like; meaning it contradicts one of the stated goals of razor which

Parser error while using Excel Analysis Tools - Goal Seek Algorithm

I'm running Table Analysis Tools in Excel using the example spreadsheet DMAddins_SampleData.xlsx.  Since I'm new to these tools I’m not much familiar with the errors triggered by SSAS.  While running the "Scenarios Analysis: Goal Seek" algorithm, I'm getting the following error in the Goal Seek dialogue box:

Query (1, 46) Parser: The syntax for 'value' is incorrect.

Any idea what is causing this.

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:
