how can i generate one report from 4 cube? is there any process that i have to follow and which type of cube use for which dimension like MOLAP,ROLAP,HOLAP.

e.g if i have product dimesion then which kind of cube i have to use

Generate Report Excel from Client??

Hi all, is it possible to create an Excel report from client?i have a webform that uses the libraries Interop.Excel.dll, Interop.Office.dll, Interop.VBIDE.dll to create an excel report (with statistics graphics) but it do it using excel from server. By company policies we must uninstall office from the server. But the Excel's reports are still useful and i need a way to remake it. then, is possible use the client's Excel to make the reports? exists another tool that allow me make this reports without using excel???Thx in advance!!

Excel pivot table report filter selections from a cube

There are two filters added to the report filter, Date (8/31/2010) and Product (Product A), from a cube I have.  Everything works just fine.  Once the cube is refreshed each day to include the new data, for some reason, only the selection of Date, 8/31/2010, stays but the selection of Product changes to All Products.  Both dimensions are fully processed but the surrogate keys for existing records do not change.  I checked the MDX captured in Profiler and in the where clause, the date selection is passed from the pivot table but the product selection is lost and all products is passed in.  Any thoughts? TIA.

Hi Everyone,   I am new to the forums as well as new to asp.net as well as most programming languages.  I am needing to develope a page for a website where customers can fill in a form on the page and click submit.  I would like the form data to be inserted into a fresh brand new SQL DB.  I then want the data from each customer to be turned into some sort of file (ie PDF or just a form) and emailed to a specific user as the user hits the submit button to submit their information.   Is there an easy way to do this or is this something that should be handled by a few different methods or software or languages?  Any and all scenerios and information is greatly appreciated!   Thank you,   Wesley Sothard

report generate vwd 2008 - website data sources window empty

I need to create report in asp.net web application, I'm working on vwd 2008 express, installed report add-on i have create dataset file xxx.xsd and use storder procedure for data adapter. when I am trying to add columns into report body I cannot see dataset in website data sources window. when i right click on window it just show refresh option. how can I get my data set into window. and add columns in to report? please help...

  I want to add a Dynamic column in Crystal report at run time. Because I dont know about the columns in design time. The columns will come based on the user selection. So i want to Add a column to Crustal report at run time. I am using Crystal report. If it is not support to add column in Crystal report at runtime. How to generate report from RPL file


I have Integrated my Reporting service 2008 R2 with Sharepoint foundation 2010. I have created few reports. For one of the report I have setup a subscription. Type of subscription set is RPL Renderer.

Once this subscription was executed, I can see RPL file in my Sharepoint document library. Now the question is what to do with this RPL file. How can I generate Report from this RPL file.

I checked that Neither Report viewer control nor Report builder accepts this RPL file.

I also could not find much help over RPL renderer on Internet.

Report Model based on Analysis Services Cube doesn't work


Hi all,

I am working in BIDS and would like to create a Report Model based on a cube.

Creating a Data Source based on SSAS goes well, but when I want to make a Data Source View, the earlier created Data Source doesn't show up, which is necessary for the final resulting Report Model.

Could somebody help me out in solving this issue? (And also tell me why this is issue is rising?)

Generate report in Excel format with formulas



I have a report with simple calculations (adds some fields). The report is requested in excel format via Reporting Services WebService.

I would like to have the generated excel file to have the formulas, not just the results. I tried to put the formula text in report definition, but it does't work, it appears in excel as text, not as formula.

How can I do this?

I am able to produce about 20 pivot tables from SSAS cube one by one. Is it possible to produce these tables programmatically with header and footer information?

Are there any solid examples/tutorials/demos of how to dynamically generate custom report item instances in a report based on the amount of rows in a data set?

Additionally I would like to insert these custom report items in a particular order based on a field in the data set.

Value in cube not showing in SSRS report



I'm scratching my head on this one!

I have an MDX query which gives me the value 287529 for a field. I can see this in SSAS, excel, and in the query designer is SSRS but when the report renders it brings back 0 for that field.

All other fields are okay its just that one. I have taken off alll cell formatting in the mdx script and on the report.

all I need to do is to generate any update's ( which are captured in table 2 ) to be reported in an  excel sheet.

Report Manager - Stop auto generate



I have a report with 4 different variables await user input, these variable can be null but the problem I am having is since null is set to the default value for all of the variables the report will automatically generate itself when the user starts it.

Is there a way to halt auto generation so the user just sees the variables and the view report button other than setting one of the variables to not have a default value of null?
