Navigation journal shows UNTITLED for all entries

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 02, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

I have a WPF application that uses a frame and navigation window. Navigation occurs in the frame and loads several different pages, all of which have the Title property set. For some reason, the navigation journal just shows Untitled for all of the pages in history. I did recently upgrade to .net 4.0 (VS 2010) and I think this is when the issue occurred, because it was working in the past, but I am not positive.

I have tried using the Page.Title property, Page.WindowTitle property and even JournalEntry.Name property, all of which have the same effect - nothing.

If anyone is able to shed some light on my issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

SPCalendarView Navigation shows in Control Instead of Ribbon

When I use the SPCalendarView control in a custom visual webpart, the navigation for expand all, collapse all, Day, Week, and Month, all show up in the calendar control itself, like SP2007 without the ribbon.  Is there a way to change this behavior to make it assume these will be in the ribbon and not show up in the control.

Right now I am just hiding them via css.

When you look at the OOTB calendar view used in a library, it puts this stuff in the ribbon in SP2010.

Build succeeded but still shows as failed.

I am able to run a build successfully on just the web site, but when i add the deployment project it shows failed (see below) but in the details it says build succeeded for the WDP build portion...so I am stumped as to by I am getting a failure. any ideas? I have set the build output to "Diagnostic" and dont see any failures or errors...so is there anything else i can do to find the problem?

Controls: Plan Your Migration to the Visual Studio 2005 Navigation Controls

Navigation is central to a well functioning Web application and it can be implemented numerous ways using today's technologies. This article highlights some of the key details of the new navigation controls that are part of the upcoming ASP.NET 2.0, and talks about how to design and implement one of these navigation controls today. This article contains a simple Web site that demonstrates the use of these navigation controls, pointing out some of the key items such as a breadcrumb control and things to watch for along the way. The article then describes how to implement a breadcrumb control today.

Search and Navigation Tips/Tricks with Visual Studio

This is the twenty-seventh in a series of blog posts I'm doing on the VS 2010 and .NET 4 release.

Today's blog post continues on from the Debugging Tips post I did last week, and covers some useful searching and navigation tips/tricks you can take advantage of within Visual Studio.  These tips were ones that my friend Scott Cate (who has blogged dozens of great VS tips and tricks here) recently recommended to me as good tips that most developers using Visual Studio don't seem to know about (even though most have been in the product for awhile).

Hopefully this post will help you discover them if you aren't already taking advantage of them.  They are all easy to learn, and can help save you a bunch of time.

Ctrl + i - Incremental Search

Most developers using Visual Studio are familiar with the "Find dialog" that you can launch by pressing the "Ctrl + F" key within the IDE.  A surprisingly large number of developers, though, aren't familiar with the "Incremental Search"

How to Customize Navigation for a Wiki Page

I've created a wiki library with 10+ wiki pages. I want users to be able to move from page to page on the Quick Launch navigation bar without having to go back to the wiki library home. Is this possible? I see the "Recent Changes" quick launch navigation feature that seems to accompany all wiki pages in a wiki library. Can I add another component similar to the "recent changes" feature that simply lists all of the pages in the wiki library?

Formview PagerTemplate DropDownList Navigation

Does anyone know if its possible to use a DropDownList within the PagerTemplate to navigate to a specific record?  I have been able to place the DropDownList outside of the FormView and PagerTemplate and make it work, however, I can't get it to work inside the PagerTemplate.

Visual Studio 2010 Shows Blank Page during web development

I just upgraded a web project from VS2008 to VS2010 Ultimate (Windows7 64bit, IE8/Google Chrome. When I run the web project in the development server (by hitting F5) everything acts like it is supposed to except everything comes up blank. Even the directory structure page is blank, just an empty HTML open and close shell. I get no errors no indications of failure, nothing. When I try to use google chrome I get the same blank page no matter where I navigate to, even if I try to navigate to a non-existant location on the dev server. I know the code compiles and acts correctly because I can deploy it to our QA servers without issue. Any ideas?
