Sharepoint 2010, knowledgebase template

Topic This is maybe my last post about the Team Site Wiki Page customization with the aim of exceeding its limitations. This time we are going to customize the unique template ( wkpstd.aspx) by replacing the control that renders the editable content by a custom one. In this post example, we will take advantage of the use of this custom control to render not editable additional contents, for instance, a header and a footer that could be the same for a specific Wiki Page Library. Of course, we are not going to really customize the template, but we are going to use a delegate control to replace the control at runtime. Here are the screen shots of the result: We can see a non editable Header and Footer on the Team Site Wiki Page In edit mode these additional contents are not rendered, but we can add new content as usual And of course, after having saved the page, the new content is rendered wtih the non editable Header and Footer. Hi,   I  want  to migrate wss3.0  site into sharepoint foundation 2010 site . earlier we  were creating site based on .stp file  in WSS 4.0 . but now we  have   to build same site in sharepoint foundation 2010. I followed  the old way  intall the .stp file  and  based on that trying to create new  site  but getting some error  old version template is not supporetd my this version. how could  l able to create  site  in sharepoint foundation 2010 based on wss 3.0 template . Hi, I'm with my first SharePoint project, and we are using server 2010 as a Document Management system. The thing is our company has about 300 customers, and we have to create 300 site collections, 1 per customer.  For each site collection, I use the blank site template, and it's very simple page, as I just need a document library in the home page, and then I need to create a subsite called "cases" and the inside profiles, the users create a document library for each case. For subsite I mean, I create a new site and I choose the option to share the top menu, so basically the site has 2 tabs. So basically what I need is a template that has 2 tabs, Home and Cases. Home with a document library in home and Cases empty. Is there a simple way to achieve this? I guess maybe I have to edit some XML files to create a Site Template. If this is the case, can someone point me to the right documentation. Second, I need to create a Visual Basic project so that the final user has a form, and he just inputs the Customer Name and the code must automatically create a new site with the template I metioned before. I guess that once I have the template this won't be very hard to achieve, as I have seen this SPSite class. The question is, can I have the template with the 2 tabs, o maybe I have to use 2 templates, and write code to create the home site and the Cases Subsite.. Ple

Hi all, I am MSFT in Vietnam. I created a SharePoint list using InfoPath 2010 RTM 64bit. After publishing it to SharePoint 2010 RC, I see an error message:  Click on button "Show Details" the message is The list schema does not match the schema of this form. Refresh the data source and publish the form again. When I create new item based on published SharePoint list, I can see plain form not browser enabled InfoPath form. I checked InfoPath Form Services, everything seems to be good. What should I do to publish SharePoint list from InfoPath 2010 to SharePoint 2010 as browser enabled form?

I want to use Sharepoint 2010 to sync, and track/record changes initiated from my Project Professional 2010 projects.  The intent is to have a web view (ideally editable) for my team to track work progress. Documentation is light right now for Sharepoint 2010/Project 2010.  Does anyone know: 1) Can Project Pro 2010 be sync'd with only the generic TASKS list template, or can it (should it) be sync'd with one of the other templates - like PROJECT TASKS, ISSUES LIST, or STATUS LIST? 2) Are there any Microsoft mapping diagrams showing what MS Project 2010 fields are mapped to Sharepoint 2010 fields? Since this jumps between 2 platforms, please let me know if I need to address this on the MS Project Pro 2010 forum.  Thanks. 

I migrated our WSS 3.0 instance to SharePoint 2010 in a dev environment.  So far, everything works with the exception of the most heavily utilized portion of our WSS 3.0 installation – which is a "Knowledge Base" sub-site utilizing the following features:   Knowledge Base List Instances: List Instances for the Knowledge Base Application Template Knowledge Base Modules: Modules for the Knowledge Base Application Template Knowledge Base Provisioning Handler   Link to Knowledge Base Template http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=BC4E5C4E-FBBB-4666-8E32-C4CEE09E1FE6&displaylang=en   Two issues exist with the Knowledge Base after migrating.   1.       The “Write new Article” feature which uses a content type called “Wiki Knowledge Base Article” use to open a “New Wiki Page” that provided the all of the associated fields specified in the List Content type settings.  Upon creating the new Wiki Page (i.e. Knowledge base article) it would associate it with the “Knowledge Base” document library.  The “Write new Article” feature now fails to utilize / recognize the Content Type settings and instead create a blank New Page without any fields except for “New page name:” and also creates a “Site Pages&

Hi, I have a parent website under which i want to create subsites on the fly using visual studio 2010. The subsites which i want to create have a common stuructre(in temrs of lists & custom). So i saved the template in sharepoint 2010,it becomes wsp and goes into soution gallery. Having made great use of the Helpdesk template in 2007, I'm hoping to develop a similar site on a new server with SP 2010 installed. Any news as to when/whether a Helpdesk template will be available, or where I'd be able to find out? I've been searching thoroughly to no avail. Thanks.

In Sharepoint Server 2010 Cannot create new List using saved List template. I have saved multiple list templates in the template gallery, but when I click on site actions -> More options. I do not see the list templates that are in the template gallery.

I have a newly created site based "Team Site" template. Now I want to export this as a site template and use it as base in my Visual Studio 2010. Now I am not able to see the command "Save site as template " in site settings of that team site. What I am missing here ?

But I get same "Save site as template " when I create a site based on "Blank Site" template.

I'm trying to create a site collection using the Knowledge Base template in SP 2010.

I deployed ApplicationTemplateCore.wsp and KnowledgeBase.wsp
(downloaded from this site, which contains wsp's for MOSS 2007:

The deployment went well, but when I created a site collection using the Knowledge Base template I got this error:

My questions:
1. Are MOSS 2007 wsp's can be used with SP 2010?
2. If not, does MS provide 2010 compatible wsp's?
3. Has anyone succeeded to create a knowledge base site?

Note: I'm using build 14.0.4747.1000. I tried it on several servers, with the same result.

Well after upgrading our sharepoint 2007 system the knowledge base template doesnt work (reports an error when you go to create) and .aspx documents arent displayed (content is there if you edit).

Any ETA when Microsoft are releasing a updated template (i understand the knowledge base template isnt supported in 2010) ?

Any other third party solutions?

 

 

Ok, I am using Sharepoint 2010 and Designer as well as Infopath 2010. I have a requirement to send out a word document (via workflow) that will be a template that references fields from my Sharepoint List.

Any help is appreciated, I do not want to buy anything extra and a no-code solution would be best.

 

Hi all, I'll provide a little background detail in the hope that maybe I'm approaching the task the wrong way or my  method is better done via other ways?

I work in a education establishement, we already have our branding on the 2003 version and having recently seen some of the impressive work done in 2007 so wanted to implement branding on the new 2010 version.

Through using one of the basic sharepoint services 2010 templates I wanted to try a little basic re-branding to start off with and see how simplified the process would be, I already have Designer 2010 installed.

A test subsite was created under the 2010 'root' area and opened up in designer 2010. I could immediately see the main areas containing any logo and other branding features was greyed out so effectively editing of master pages was disabled. This was overcome by a little research and finding out I had to enable editing of master pages / templates through the site admin area. I was immediately given access to all master pages (default.master, starter.master and v4.master - which I understand 4v is actually the 'main' master page used?

Here is where the problems begin.....I'm using designer 2010 but each time I create a page based on a master template layout, designer provides the error message 'Sharepoint Designer:

I am trying to create a prototype for a sharepoint 2010 site for my team and I am working with the FAST Template (out of the box). I am implementing the "Search" Web parts that Include: Refinement Panel, Related Queries, Search Action Links but all of them ask for a refinement schema. I am looking for documentation on this on the MSDN site and I cannot find nothing that really is helping me out.
