we are creating a custom report tool, which could be used for generate the report as per end user's needs. In that we are providing an option as user could create a query and procedure as well.
In sql server we can use "EXEC" function for execute dynamic query.

In a stored procedure is there anything called as optimum number of rows that need to be handled in a batch
as In, If there is a SP,
that picks up data(via union operation) from various objects and puts them into a temp table after which the required data is moved to various tables,The above scenario is handled as a batch run where in 1 million rows are processed in a batch
and the next 1 million rows in a next batch,so on and so forth.
Is there any optimum number of rows that can be processed in the above case?
When we increase rows processed per batch we have seen improvements in performance of the SP,but not sure when it will start deteriorating.
I have to open a batch file automatically in sql. So i have used the below command.
EXECUTE master.dbo.xp_cmdshell 'D:\Databases\batch\123.bat'
Its worked for few times. After that its not working.
One time i have stopped before the process is complete.May be this is the issue.
Now its returns null value.
Can anyone help me how can i open the file in sql.

At a single time i am using only one file like .csv,.txt.
Here I am generating a XML file which contains script to create table and how to map data into table.
Here we are using XML as a middle man which gives us idea about file structure and how to map data into table.
Can any one guide me how can i do this thing?

I have a scenario in which i am executing a Stored Procedure which returned a result set.
I want to create a Excel file [name_date_time] dynamically, and fill result set data into Excel file. And then finally sent Excel file to Specific user[Email ID].
Point is that the excel file should have unique name so i want to give name as name_date_time.
So every time when package run new file is created with unique name.
Can any one suggest me who to create Excel file and fill result set data into Excel file.
And then finally send that Excel file ?

Is it possible to use a stored procedure to create a bunch of other stored procedures? When the user creates a new database, I need to create a bunch of stored procedures and I would like to just run a stored procedure on the new database that creates
all the needed stored procedures. I tried just putting the CREATE PROCEDURE syntax inside a stored procedure and got some errors. I imagine this can be done using dynamic sql and the EXECUTE function but I was hoping there was a better way.
