Hi -- Hope this is a simple one... My company is migrating from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2008 (FINALLY). My question relates to the system objects in 2000 like "sysobjects", "sysindexes", and "sysdatabases". I know that Microsoft has
created the "sys" schema for selecting database metadata but I'm concerned that the system objects I just listed won't work in my pre-existing code after migrating to SQL Server 2008. Is this true? I've tried executing this script (see
below) on our SQL Server 2008 development box and it returns results for all three queries. No errors. But the database compatibility level for this server is 10.0.2531. Will this script fail when the compatibility level is raised to
11? I don't see these objects in the SSMS Object Explorer so I assume they're being deprecated.
SELECT * FROM sysobjects
SELECT * FROM sysindexes
SELECT * FROM sysdatabases
