How to supress blank pages when columns are hidden

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

Is there any way to supress blank pages from being printed when columns are hidden? This will be a complete annoyance to customers.

What I what to do is set some setting that will cause the blank pages to be omitted when hidden colums shrinks the data down to the point that the width of the document is wider than that of the shown columns.

Show wiki page library columns on wiki pages- SharePoint 2010

I created a wiki page library in SharePoint 2010 and added a few columns to the library. However, these columns do not show on the actual wiki pages as they did in SharePoint 2007. I looked through the library settings but didn't find anything to turn on this feature. Does anyone know how to do this or if this feature was even included in SharePoint 2010? Thanks.

aligning columns in web part pages

Hi, i have a page that has lots of web parts displaying various lists. I cannot get the columns to line up properly, so they all look misaligned. Is there any way to fix this? I found this article which describes the problem exactly but the fix only works for SharePoint 2007 ( I am running SharePoint 2010 Enterprise) http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointgeneral/thread/b92955a8-a1c9-45e1-91e4-b241513b0e25

Will SSRS 2008 eliminate white space due to hidden columns?

I have many reports that hide/show columns based on either parameters or user input.  When columns are hidden the body size is not recalculated and also cannot be set through expressions.  This leads to at best extra blank pages when reports are printed, at worst reports that cannot be embedded as subreports into other reports because they off-set the elements around them when the area into which they are inserted automatically resizes in rendering.  This should be considered a bug in the current release (2005).

Is there any chance of this making it into the new version (either that the renderer recalculates the body width or that expressions could be used in fields such as body width)?

can table size will remain same if any of columns are hidden

Hi all...

im haveing table where columns will hide according to condition but if any of the column is hidden table size must  be same as all columns in table .

i have employeedetails table :

ID Number

Blank Pages in between report

I created a report with multiy pages and in between every page of data is a blank page. If the Report is Sixteen pages long i get eight blank pages. The Body size of the report is 8.5in, 25.475in. The Report porperities or 8.5 x 11in. Each page has a table with a page break at start set to true. But I still get blank pages in between the report.

Blank pages in SSRS Report PDF Export

I am developing a report with almost 25 columns table and the width of the report is 20pt. But I am changing the visibility of a few columns in run-time so that the resultant width will fit in one page (11pt)(I checked all the margins and resultant width of table. Sum of all the widths are with in the pagesize only). Everything is working fine when i check the report in browser, but when i try to Export to PDF there are alternate white pages, which are corresponding to the hidden columns width i guess.

How to achieve PDF Export without white pages? Also, is there any way to shrink the report to a single page?

I am using SSRS 2005

SP Designer 2010 Conditional Formatting with Hidden Values/Columns

I have a list with 30~40 columns. I want to do conditional formatting on it using SharePoint 2010 Designer (instead of creating a visual webpart with vs2010).

Of the 30-40 columns, i am only viewing 5 columns that i need (ie: first name, last name, etc...)

I can create the XSLT ListView Webpart on the page within SharePoint 2010. I can edit it with SharePoint 2010 Designer, i can also apply conditional formating to the row (ie: select row within XSLT webpart > Options > Conditional Formatting).

However, i cannot apply the conditional formatting too columns that are not listed in the <ViewFields> of the <XmlDefinition>. What gives? I want to do conditional formatting on the entire row of the item using the hidden ten or so columns and i don't want the user to see all the columns, but i want to do conditional formatting on them (its for æsthetics reasons, i don't want a grid list of 15+ columns on someones poor 1024 by 768 resolution/monitor... plus they don't need to see it until they click into the list item....)

<FieldRef Name="SomeColumnName" Hidden="True" /> does not work
<FieldRef Name="SomeColumnName" ReadOnly="True" /> does not work either

Exporting hidden/expandable columns from SSRS to Excel

I am creating a report with many columns. The main purpose of this report is to be exported to Excel so users can use for further analysis. Is there a way to create a report in SSRS where the web interface/UI of the report has hidden columns that reveal themselves as expandable parts of exisiting visible columns when user exports the report to Excel? Appreciate any and all help!

Can someone show me how to remove blank columns from a matrix report with parameters?

I have a drilldown matrix report with 5 parameters that I group on. The users have the option of selecting any of these parameters when they preview the report. They can also select No grouping as one of the parameter option.   When I run the report and select for example, 4 parameters and the No grouping option, I get blank columns.  When I select no grouping, no data is displayed.  As a result, I get blank columns.  Is there a way to hide the blank columns?  I would appreciate any suggestions.  See table example below:

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

Adding Multiple Columns and Rows in GridView without using a Database

This article describes on how to add multiple columns and rows in GridView without using a database. Basically the GridView will be populated with data based on the values entered in each TextBoxes on Button Click and retain the GridView data on post back.

SharePoint Application and Site Pages - Part 1 of 2

In this first part of the two part series, Steven covers the differences between Site and Application pages in SharePoint 2007, why each may be used in various circumstances, and prepares for the construction of a menu located application page. After a brief introduction he examines the concept of Site Pages and Application Pages separately in detail with supported screenshots.

SharePoint Application and Site Pages - Part 2 of 2

As the second article in a two part series, Steven examines the attributes and details of a SharePoint 2007 application page, including the construction and feature deployment of the same page based project. Since this is a WSS level objective, as opposed to MOSS, you will not need MOSS to work with the code included in this project. Windows Server 2003, WSS, and Visual Studio 2005 are all that is needed, with no additional add-ons. He provides a detailed analysis of each step involved in the creation and deployment of the project.
