I've implemented Windows Authentication with kerberos protocol.
Each time user visit site they have to hit Sign in button and then they get logged in. IE doesn't recognized automatically user and signed in.

J have read many answers about
Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL server connection
error, but I don't want to mess up in my sql server so I want to be sure that what I do is OK.
In my company, we have our own application wchich we use to connect to database. All users use SQL Server Auth except me. I can log using Windows Auth from server and from my second computer.
Now everything works fine.
- My comp is in our domain 'OurDomian'.
- On server in AD is admin account 'SqlAdmin'.
- In MSSMS in Security->Logins there is account: OurDomian\SqlAdmin
- on my comp account OurDomian\SqlAdmin is added
I can log to sql server from my comp using 'Integrated Security' in application with no problem.
Problem starts when I change SqlAdmin password on server.
When I connect from my comp I get the above error. But when I connect from server there is no problem.
I searcher application code and I don't think that I have to change somthing in it. Probably I have to change something with account and permissions.
1. Will it bee enough to delete and add again 'OurDomian\SqlAdmi
Windows authentication doesn't works for me.
Here are steps to reproduce:
When the breakpoint is hit, I get:
User.Identity.AuthenticationType = ""
User.Identity.IsAuthenticated = false
User.Identity.Name = ""
When I follow the above steps with an "ASP.NET MVC 2.0 Empty Web Application" project, I get:
User.Identity.AuthenticationType = "NTLM"User.Identity.IsAuthenticated = trueUser.Identity.Name = "<My Username>"
which is correct.
I've created a simple test DLL, written in C#, with a COM interface.
public interface IMyClass1
string GetAString(int aiNumber);
public class MyClass1 : IMyClass1
public Why doesn't the Windows authentication working? I'm trying to write a simple ASP.NET 4.0 app, using Windows authentication to login. This is on my peer-to-peer home network. When I click to login, it instantly shows my Windows identity, so it looks as though I don't even need to login, as it's already done that for me. However when I then go to any other page in the app, it looks as though I'm not logged in.
Why is that and how do I fix it?

I'm curious if its possible to get windows auth working with asp.net webpages/webmatrix.
I've got it published to IIS with windows auth turned on and anonymous/forms/basic turned off.
I'm guessing the WebSecurity Helper probably won't work here but can you access User.Identity.Name etc?
Sorry for the newbie questions, I've only just started working with asp.net ^^,
How to create a virtual directory and get benefit of the IIS. Is there a workaround to accomplish this without the Windows Authentication for Windows 7 Home Premium Edition?
Thanks in advance,
I am using SQL Server 2008 under windows authentication, front end is ASP.NET which uses COM+ to access database.
COM+ components are configured to run as domain user.
When looking through the logs (SQL Profiler), I can see the login name as the configured identity instead of windows indentity.
I have got Website running under "Intergrated Windows Authentication" and database is running locally on webserver.
Web configure contains entry for <identity impersonate="true"/>.
My connection string is
connectionString="data source=db01\test01;initial catalog=test; integrated security=SSPI;persist security info=False; Trusted_Connection=Yes"

Arrgghh, I am so tired of dealing with stuff like this
I've got a project, when I put up on another server I point two sites in IIS6 to it
http://www.main.com pointing to the folder the files are in
http://www.anotherofoursites.com/main pointing to that same folder in it's own "Virtual Application" or whatever IIS calls it when you put a folder into it's own
If I just "Build" and push all the files up.. both work without issue and as expected... but when I use "Publish" to precompile, the site works until I post, and then i get nailed with:
I can't get my <ajax:asyncfileupload> working and I don't see why...
Here's the error:
Here's my front-code:
<%@ Page Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/masterpages/mpSqueletton.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="frmAdmGestSocietes.aspx.vb" Inherits="adm_frmAdmGestSocietes" title="Untitled Page" %>
<%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="ajax" %>
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="cphHead" Runat="Server">
document.getElementById("<%= lblStatus.ClientID %>").innerText = args.get_fileName(), "<span style='color:red;'>" + args.get_errorMes
i'm using sql server 2005, sql server business intelligence development studio for my reports and deploy them in my wss3.0 site.
what i'm trying to do is i'm trying to restrict wich users can see specific data within a report.
now, the thing is. the report gets the data out of my DB1 database and my windows authenticated user are in the WSS_content database.
when i deploy my report in my wss3 site. it gets the user that is loged in. but of course it does not display any data because the tables are not in the same database.
does someone knows how to do this?
I have defined feature with event receivers for my document library and for users List .
I try to activate my feature in onet.xml in section <WebFeatures>. After provisioning a new site from onet.xml all work fine and my feature is shown as activated, but event receivers doesn't fire. It fires only after reactivating my feature (deactivate,
then activate it again). But I need my feature works immediately after site provisioning without deactivating and activating it again. Who knows how to solve this problem?
