Configuration Issue: Sharepoint 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

When I run the Sharepoint 2010 configuration wizard, I get to step 8, at which point the wizard throws an exception with the error:

- User cannot be found.

I've already done some investigation into the matter and some people have cited the DC as the issue but I believe there could be no issue with the DC since Sharepoint 2010 can contact the DC and is part of the domain. The error is as follows:

And here is a screenshot of the log:

Outlook 2010 / Sharepoint authenthication issue

Hi all,

I'm using Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 64bit.

My company uses a hosted Sharepoint server (I guess it's Sharepoint 2010). There's a team calendar, which I would like to connect to my Outlook 2010. Linking it to Outlook works fine until it tries to update the calendar with the Sharepoint server. I shows the following error:

Error (0x80070005) when running the task "SharePoint": "You are not authorized to view the SharePoint list (team calendar). Contact the administrator of SharePoint site. HTTP 401."

So this tells me, I'm not authorized to connect - which is quite clear because Outlook never asked my for any username or password.

Funny thing is when I try to add an internet calendar (Right mouse click on calendars, Add calendar, Internet calendar) and use the url of the sharepoint list, it asks me for username and password, but then fails to add the calendar, as it isn't a webcal (which is OK).

BUT: As Outlook at this moment has the username and password, the exisiting Sharepoint calendar synchronizes correctly. This works until Outlook is being restarted.

Does anyone have an idea why I'm not asked for any authentication? Maybe there's some setting I haven't found yet? It works with trying to add the webcal any time when I start Outlook, but t

Cannot Login with Forms Based Authentication to SharePoint 2010 - Issue with the SecurityTokenServic

Please be advised I have followed the steps on http://donalconlon.wordpress.com/2010/02/23/configuring-forms-base-authentication-for-sharepoint-2010-using-iis7/. I have tried to fix the following issue for a week using different farms and SharePoint 2010 installations, however I am getting the following error when trying to authenticate using Forms Based into a Claims site: Cannot get Membership Provider with name FBARoleProvider The membership provider for this process was not properly configured. You must configure the membership provider in the .config file for every SharePoint process. 1. I am certain the membership provider is configured in the SecurityTokenServiceApplication webservice as I can manage users and roles in IIS7 using the SecurityTokenServiceApplication website. 2. I am certain that membership provider is configured in the both the Claims Web Application and Central Admin as I can manage users and roles in IIS7 using their websites. 3. I know the issue is the SecurityTokenServiceApplication service as I had to set <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true" /> to get the error above. 4. I can log into the Claims Based Application using windows authentication, however I am unable to see the users on the people picker despite that I can see them from the application's site on IIS

SharePoint 2007 upgrade to 2010 without UI update masterpage issue

I have a public facing site on a SharePoint 2007 farm that will be upgraded to 2010.  This site has a very customized look and feel that will not initially be updated to the 2010 UI.    I have run into one small issue with 2010's handling of legacy 2007 UIs.In SharePoint 2007,  to have a different master page for the application pages and dialog boxes we utilized an HTTP Module to switch the master page on the fly.    After migrating the SP2007 into our 2010 beta test environment the HTTP Module no longer worked properly.   I did some debugging and found out that SharePoint 2010 is returning a NULL value for MasterPageFile property on the pages in the _layouts folder.   I would have expected to see the URL pointing to the application.master page (or dialog.master).   Any ideas if this is a bug in SP2010 beta and will be fixed in RTM or is this the intended behavior.If it is the intended behavior in SP2010 how could I update my HTTP Module to allow the site to continue functioning as it did on 2007?

Sharepoint 2010 Workflow issue

I am using SharePoint Designer 2010 to implement a workflow approval process on InfoPath forms. I added the workflow on an InfoPath and although it shows me that the workflow is completed, it doesn't do what it is supposed to do. It is supposed to send an email to the Manager once the form is submitted and fulfills certain critieria. It doesn't send that email. The workflow is fairly simple: If Form:Department equals (ignoring case) XYZ Email xyz   The type of workflow is "List Workflow". I am not sure where I am going wrong. It looks a simple thing to solve but my mind seems blocked. Any clues??

Sharepoint 2010 Developement Envirnoment Issue

Hello Experts,

I am new to Sharepoint 2010.My issue is as below.

I have creted new SharepointPoject from VS 2010 with "SPTest" name. Other 2 developer share same project using SVN on same developement envirnoment by remote PC. When i deploy dll updates at GAC and wsp file also updates.

Now when other developer performs the same and so latest dll and solution which i deploy overwrites by them. and i overwrites their dll and solution.

So we all overwriting eachother dll and solutions.

So i think we might lack proper developement envirmoment.

So kindly guide me if we r lacking anything proper.

SharePoint 2010 Client Object Model Issue

I want to make a windows form (VS 2010, C#.NET), where you can connect to a specific list on a SP site and display all the items in a Data Grid View.

I made the connection to x site and y list and display them to a treeview. When i add the list to the tree view, i set the property Tag to it and assign as value the name of the list. Then through the NodeMouseClick event handler i get the current list is selected in the tree view.

The next step i want to display all the items from the list in a Data Grid View (windows form).

The event handler code is here:

    private void farmExplorer_NodeMouseClick(object sender, TreeNodeMouseClickEventArgs e)
        if (e.Node.Tag != null)
          selectedList = ((SP.List)e.Node.Tag);
          String newUrlToLoad = currentUrl.ToString() + selectedList.ParentWebUrl;
          using (SP.ClientContext ctx = new SP.ClientContext(newUrlToLoad))
            SP.Web webToLoad = ctx.Web;
            SP.List myLis
