WebDev.WebServer.exe has encounted a problem and needs to close when trying to view page in browser

Hi, whenever I load an aspx page in vwde2008, I get the message in the subject of this post.  After I click Ok on that, I get a dialog box, Unable to Connect to the ASP.Net development center.  What can I do to troubleshoot?

I am using Windows XP SP3, vwde2008 with SP1, on a HP desktop.  Also using Office 2003 if that is relevant at all.

Thanks, Justin

Web Part working fine on the top-level page but 'Not Safe' error on lower-level pages.

Hi,

I have created a Web Part which reads and parses the SharePoint logs in order to display usage information of the page it resides on.  The Web Part works perfectly on the top page, reading and displaying the information desired.  However, once the Web Part is added to any page lower in the site heirarchy (sub-page) the same Web Part throws the following error:

Error

Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe.

Of course the current version of the Web Part is in the SafeControls list on the web.config.

The Web Part was originally designed to return site activity only for the top default.aspx page and worked fine but started to fail in the manner described above once I added the following line of code to return a SPCo

Executing a job from a stored procedure stopped working

I've got a stored procedure in database A that calls the sp_start_job stored procedure in msdb as follows:   CREATE PROCEDURE xxxxx WITH EXECUTE AS 'domain\username'   AS   EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_start_job B'jobname' ;   RETURN   The domain\username is the in the database sysadmin role and the owner of the job.  To make this work originally, I had to change the msdb database to be trusted.   This worked for the past several months.   Now it doesn't work (perhaps after a reboot but not sure).  The error I get is "The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'sp_start_job', database 'msdb', schema 'dbo'   I looked to make sure that the account had grant execute rights and it does.  I tried setting it via GRANT statement and it was granted successfully yet the error still occurs.  I've tried changing accounts and anything else I can think of to no avail.   Any ideas how to troubleshoot this issue.  I've tried all the tricks I can think of.   Thanks - SM

GetRouteUrl() not working on Master page

Hi, I'm facing odd problem with Page.GetRouteUrl() method. It is working only on regular content pages and doesn't want to work on my master pages. I'm using simple snipet: <%# Page.GetRouteUrl("Default", null).ToString() %>, when I put it on some page, it generates "/Default", when I put it on master - I get "". I've tried calling Master.GetRouteUrl() instead but still no luck, it always returns empty string. Funny thing is that it works in code behind (bothPage.GetRouteUrl() and MAster.GetRouteUrl() works) of the master page, only markup seems to be affected. I bet it is somehow related to the configuration since I have recently moved from ASP .NET 3.5 to 4.0 on IIS7 with integrated pipeline. Anyone have any clues?

Breakpoints stopped working during debugging in vs.net 2005

I had the strangest bug yesterday while trying to debug in vs.net 2005.... I had an '05 web application.  I clicked the "Run" button to start debugging, and the webpage popped up fine.  I could run through the pages fine.  Everything seemed fine....UNTIL!   Until I tried to start inserting breakpoints into my code.  The application ignored them.  In addition, I noticed my little green visual studio "Start Debugging" arrow (which is normally greyed out while in debug mode) was green.  It was as if visual studio completely detached itself from my website I was trying to debug. After playing around with it for a while, I realized I also had a vs.net 2008 solution open as well.  My '08 solution wasn't in debug mode or anything, it was just sitting there open.  I just happened to close it, not thinking anything of it, and presto!  My 2005 debugger started working again! So basically, I can't debug an '05 solution (or at least a web solution, as that's all I tried) while I also have an '08 solution open.  Anyone know why?  Is there anything I can do to prevent this?   Thanks.

Suite Integration Toolkit executable has stopped working On Windows 2008 R2

I am not sure what else I can say about this except I seem to run into this error each time I attempt to install any .NET Related tool above 1.1. I have tried clean out all .NET installs to reinstall but I run up against this and at this point, I have a machine that is clean of .NET 2.0 through 4.0. I am unable to reinstall because I keep running up against this problem. HiI was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. I have been happily using the Intellisense features of Katmai without any problems for a month now. However, a couple of days ago, it stopped working. I have tried numerous things to revive it including deleting everything under: -%appdata%\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL ServerHKCU\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Serverand restarting SMSS but I had no success. Retract custom master page feature and all site pages stop working

There is a requirement to apply custom branding on personal sites in a SP 2010 project. For this I have created a feature which uploads and applies the custom master page on creation of any new personal sites.   I have stapled this feature (using feature stapling concept) to the “SPSPERS” (personal site) site definition. The custom master page is displayed on the creation of new personal sites. On feature deactivation, I am looping through all the personal sites (as the feature is deployed on a team site) and pointing the master URL back to v4.master. But when I retract the solution and browse to the personal site, I am getting a “404 File not found” error.  But am able to view the settings page by typing the URL.   I activated the publishing features and looked at the master page applied to the personal site. It was pointing to v4.master.   Any help on this is appreciated. Regards, Neha

WordAutomation - Not working when published to IIS Webserver

Hi, I am bulding a site that will create word documents from templates and fill in the bookmarks.  Its working fine when running locally in VS but when I publish to the webserver it seems to have an issue opening word.   Durning testing I created a new site that only has the code below and its still not working - you click on a button and it looks to have worked but word never opens.  I have done 2 days of fault finding to no avail.  The server has office 2003 installed and I have put the correct dlls in the bin folder of the project and still no joy - I have played around with as many settings as I can in IIS and still nothing.  Any Ideas???Thanks  object oMissing = System.Reflection.Missing.Value; object oEndOfDoc = "\\endofdoc"; /* \endofdoc is a predefined bookmark */ //Start Word and create a new document.
