Pass paramaters to SSRS Subscriptions using VS2005

Posted By:      Posted Date: October 01, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi,

Newbie here. I have created SSRS reports and built a user UI to run these reports. Now when creating SSRS subscriptions in report Manager, is it even possible to programmatically pass the delivery method (email or file share), To email address, scheduled time and date, etc from my front-end UI to the Report Manager?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

SSRS 2005 SP3 - Instr function with Global Variable fails in Subscriptions

Hi I have a very simple expression in a text box in my report:  INSTR(Globals!ReportServerUrl,"Report").  This expression should return the integer value of where the string "Report" appears in the Global variable for the ReportServerUrl.  Simple enough.  This works fine for generating the report directly through report manager, and in my case returns a value of 20. However when run as a subscription and emailed to myself the value returned is 0. This suggests that the search string does not appear in the Global variable. In the reportserver config file the URLroot tag contains the correct server address - http://myserver/reportserver. Does anyone know why i should be experiencing this issue with my subscriptions?  Your help would be much appreciated! Thanks Guy  Guy

Using Google SMTP server (smtp.gmail.com) when configuring subscriptions unders SSRS 2008

Hello All, I have read thru numerous posts and have reviewed several links with no luck.  I am trying to use gmail smtp servers (smtp.gmail.com) to configure SSRS 2008 to send email.  It's running on Server 2003 Standard SP2. No Exchange server, we use gmail. Error message I receive is "Failure sending mail: The report server has encountered a configuration error. Mail will not be resent." SSRS 2008 R2 Subscriptions Tab Missing From Report

We are running SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard This server has been upgraded from SQL Server 2008 Standard and previously from SQL 2005.  Since the upgrade we have noticed that the Subscriptions Tab is no longer available from within reports.  I can still subscribe to a report from the report manager page by selecting subscribe from the drop down.  Our report server fulfills the criteria for the tab to be available (We have a mail server configured,  Permissions on each report are correct and the credentials are stored in the datasource) and it was available before the upgrade.  Since our end users do not access the report manager page but link to each report directly we need this tab to be enabled.  Is there some other setting we need to change to enable this?

SSRS report, doesnt show default value in paramaters when viewed in reportserver

Hi   We have a problem where we have a report that we have deployed to the production SSRS server, when I view the paramater list on the production reporting srver the particular report has the HAS Default paramater ticked, but the default value drop down selected value is blank yet the values are available in the drop down.   When looking at this in system test the default value is loaded.   When comparing the two RDL's they are identical and when loading the report files in Development tools the default value is selected, has anyone come accross this before ?   Ben

SSRS Schedule Subscriptions - SQL Server Agent Job Name

We are beginning to use SSRS a lot and have noticed that when it creates the SQL Server Agent job for a subscribed/scheduled report in Report Manager the name it generates is a "gibberish" GUID (.i.e. 437D4E5B-CB2A-421B-B84F-B54C9D8BD52A).

Looking at the SQl Server Agent job there doesn't appear to be any way in looking at that jobs properties that tells you which Scheduled Report it is running.

Is there any way thru a script or otherwise to find this easily?

How do I call an SSRS Report from a stored procedure, and pass parameters?

Hi all,

I have a Report, that I want to run ad-hoc from a Stored Procedure.

I want to render this report to PDF format, and save it to a drive.

The difference between this post and most threads I've seen is I don't want to run a stored proc within the report and send parameters to the stored proc.

I DO want to call a report FROM the stored proc, and send parameters TO the report.

How can I do this?

Many thanks,

Jason

Pass paramaters to Open Query (oracle)

I am trying to pass two paramaters into an oracle open query

The first is a comma split string value of item numbers

and the second would be date ranges, - 4 of them  1) most recent 6 months, 2) most recent 12 months 3) most recent 18 months 4) most recent 24 months.  As i understand it - the open query is treated as dynamic sql and this is more challenging -

This table has alot of info so I do not want to bring back everything
