Conditional Page Breaks in SSRS

Hi Everyone,

I have two tables in a report. My dataset brings back a field called "Page" with EACH and EVERY record. If I add a group to one table and group it to "Page" and check off the insert a breakpoint between instances of a group, the one table breaks to a new page at the right time, but because the second table shows less data, if i add it to the same group, I end up with page breaks at the wrong times.

It's supposed to resemble this

Page Breaks within tablix (SSRS 2008)

Hi,

page breaks seem to be a real issue in SSRS, according to the number of posts, but I haven't found a solution for my problem yet.

My report contains a tablix which is used to group the data by keys. The tablix has one column and one row, and this cell contains several subreports which get their data from another table depending on the keys of the groups. This works quite well. However, I would like to insert a page break in between the subreports. I tried inserting a rectangle with the PageBreak property set to Start and/or End, but this is ignored. Page breaks in the subreports themselves are also ignored. Having the subreports in rectangles with PageBreak property set to Start or End is ignored as well.

The only way I have found to force page breaks is cross-joining my query of the main report with a table containing page numbers, add the page number field as the last grouping in SSRS and check the "Page breaks between each instance of the group", then showing or hiding the subreports conditionally depending on the page number retrieved from the database. However, this obviously multiplies the amount of retrieved data by the number of pages and is therefore a rather slow approach.

How can I insert a page break between rows of a tablix or even within one row?

Can we show a line chart on multiple pages with page breaks? SSRS 2008

Hi there,

I am using SSRS 2008. I have a line chart which queries a huge dataset and shows the datapoints really close to each other that the labels and grid-lines are overlapping onto each other. http://oi54.tinypic.com/2vifrb9.jpg

Is there a way to split the chart and show it on different pages.? Thanks in Advance :)

Is Conditional Subscription possible in SSRS 2005?

Hi Guys,

Is there a way to set up a subscription that will send e-mails based on the contents of a report? For example, I want to schedule a daily subscription that will only send an e-mail if the report contains data, otherwise it will do nothing for that day. i.e If the report has more than one row, it should send the mail otherwise it should not send the mail.....

Is it possible in SSRS 2005 or is there any other way to do it???

I need help with the syntax for passing a record field value from SSRS to an asp page

I have tried several variations without success.  Here is where I am now.  The goal is from inside Report Manager report, link to an asp page with a filed value. This is from the expression line of the Jump to URL entry. Also I am trying to open a new page http://www.whereever.com/CSSurvey01.asp?RecordID=" & Fields!respid.Value

SSRS 2008 - repeating a non column header column on every page

Hi - I am working on my first SSRS report and I have mostly all of it down except one issue. Per requirements, I need to display a column that is a non header column to repeat on every page while printing and or when I save the generated report in SSRS as a PDF file. I have seen some previous blog from 2007 where RepeatWith property is recommended to be set to the same name of the Tablix in which the column(s) are embeded, tried that but it is not working. Can any one help me on this or guide me how to resolve this? Thanks, Manny

Passing parameters from ASP.Net web page to SSRS report

I have a web page that displays some data.  The user first selects a date range on the web page and then can edit some data.  When they click a submit button, I want to run a report.  But I would like to pass the start date and end date values that the user already entered on the web page to the report.  Is this possible?  Can I use the value of a session variable in the report? Problems passing parameters to SSRS report from ASP.Net web page

I have a web page that displays some data.   When they click a submit button, I want to run a report.  But I would like to pass the start year/month and end year/month values that the user already entered on the web page to the report.  Here is what my url looks like when the report is displayed: http://xyzserver/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReports%2fDevicesAllNew&rs:Command=Render&StartYYMM=201007&EndYYMM=201008 But my report displays the 2 textboxes for my StartYYMM and EndYYMM parameters as empty.  What am I doing wrong?  I did a google search and I saw something about using ReportServer instead of ReportManager.  I notice at the top of the browser when I run my report, it reads "Report Manager - Windows Internet Explorer".  Is this correct? SSRS 2008 group footer totals on a new page has a non-expected large cell height

SSRS 2008 group footer totals on a new page has a non-expected large cell height. When the group total is the first component on a new page, then this happens, but when it is part of the group on but not the first component, then it reverts to normal cell height. I have played with the advance settings now for hours, but cannot get this to work. Any ideas?

SSRS 2005 conditional count in chart

Hi, I have a column chart in which I want to display the % of Invoiced Sales in 24 hours and % of Not Invoiced Sales in 24 hours. The data should be categorized by date, so for each date I can see the % of invoiced and not invoiced sales within 24 hours. My dataset contains: sales id, sales status (only invoiced are permitted and I took care of that in my query), date and I have the nbDays which is bound to a function that determinate if the sale is invoiced in 24h. So if the nbDays < 3 it's in 24h otherwise it's not. I want my chart to display for each date two column: 1- for invoiced in 24, 2- not invoiced in 24 h. So, I drag the date fields to Category fields area and sales id twice to Data fields area. The idea is to use one for invoiced in 24h and the other is for the other case.   So, I want to know how can I write a conditional expression to get this requirement done and make the data fields sales id displays data according to my condition: I tried this but it didn't work: =count(iif(fields!nbDays.value <3, 1,0))  and also the: =iif(fields!nbDays.value <3, count(fileds!salesid.value),0)   any suggestions will be welcomed and appreciated...

SSRS 2008 Conditional Column Visibility Whitespace Issue

Hi Everyone,I am using IIF statements to show/hide tablix columns based upon a parameter value. These statements are used as expressions in the visibility properties for the columns. If the parameter value is one that causes the column to be hidden, the coulmn does not appear on the report, but there is whitespace in its place.I have used this functionality very frequently in SSRS 2005 without the whitespace issue. The 2005 report automagically closed this whitespace up by moving the column to the right of the hidden one to now be adjacent to the column to the left of the hidden one at rendering. This is what i need to happen now in 2008.Has anyone else experienced this? If so, would you please share your solution? I am getting extremely frustrated by this...Thanks!!

SSRS page break issue

Hi, I am using SSRS 2005. I have developed a SSRS report which prints multiple invoices, having invoice numbers and the parameters. The report is printing multiple invoices having page break after each invoice ends. But there is a header and body section. The body section contains the line items. The issue is after the header part the body part is moving to the next page for some invoices. When the line items are less, it is printing contineously after the header. If the line items are more the whole body is moving to the next page. When I try to fix this issue, some records are printing in the same page of the header and only last record is printing in the next page leaving a long blank in the first page of the invoice. I appreciate any one can solve this issue and it will be really helpful in solving this issue. Thanks , Mahalingam

SSRS page break when export to PDF

Hi, I am using SSRS 2005 version. I am printing multiple invoices, taking multiple invoice numbers as a parameter and printing invoices. I have grouped the report based on Invoice  number, so that the invoices are printed sequentially and there will be page break after each invoice number. Within each invoice there is a header, body and footer. My issue is after the header is printed, an automatic page break happens after the header and the body moves to the next page. Therefore there is a large gap between the report header and the body. The report layout is landscape. I wish any one can solve this issue and grateful if they can give the solution for my problem. Thanks, Mahalingam
