.Net 2.0 errors in Windows XP .NET Runtime Optimization Service & EventType clr20r3

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 30, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

I have a program that runs on windows XP using .net 3.5 framework family. After many reinstalls using the redistributable package, the bootstrapper, and windows updates, when launching the program i get "".exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Event viewer shows this:

.Net Runtime 2.0 Error

EventType clr20r3, P1 "".exe, P2 2010.1.1012.1, P3 4c6168a1, P4 system.configuration, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4889de74, P7 277, P8 14, P9 ioibmurhynrxkw0zxkyrvfn0boyyufow, P10 NIL.

There are also these errors in event viewer, that only showed up after installing using Windows Updates.

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Service reached limit of transient errors. Will shut down. Last error returned from Service Manager: 0x80029c4a.

I followed the advice in another msdn support request, http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netfxsetup/thread/f56cc6e4-c2bf-490c-b87b-3e22b1e6b935 that suggested running:

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe update

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe executequeuedstatus

and

%windir%\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe queue status

and the requested output of the update command returns:

Error loading type library/DLL. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80029C4A (TYPE_E_CANTLOADLIBRARY))

NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting, Event ID: 5000, EventType clr20r3, P1 msadapter.exe, P2 5.0.0.0, P3

We are getting the following error what would be the root cause.

Our application is divided into 2 projects.

1- C# assembly.

2 - Managed c++ library (assembly)..

What could be the reason for this.

Is it null pointer exception or some other related to Interoperability assembly mscorlib.dll

This is the event viewer log:

.NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting # 5000 EventType clr20r3

Hi everyone. I made an Visual Studio 2005 Win Application only for testing a connection to a Oracle 10g database (i only open a connection using the OracleConnection, check the status and then close it).

I´m using the Oracle .NET provider version 2.102.2.20.

I tested the app in different PC´s with windows XP OS and everything worked fine, but when i tried to deploy the app in a Windows 2003 server didn´t run. I checked the Event viewer and found this message:

Event Type:    Error
Event Source:    .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting
Event Category:    None
Event ID:    5000

EventType clr20r3 on Workflow execution on Windows 2003 64bit

Hi there, I'm in big troubles because I'm facing a big failure on our customers server. Our Workflow Foundation 3.5 based server app crasches with this error:

Event Type:    Error
Event Source:    .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting
Event Category:    None
Event ID:    5000
Date:        30/03/2011

User:        N/A
Computer:    WFSERVER
Description:
EventType clr20r3, P1 keystoneserver.exe, P2 1.0.0.1323, P3 4d92f52f, P4 system.workflow.runtime, P5 3.0.0.0, P6 488f01cc, P7 259, P8 310, P9 ddtyh4crnqi0jcb1xjkwm10z55wsa2sj, P10 NIL.

but only on customers server (running Windows 2003 R2 64bit). Yes, on my development PC (Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit) the same code with the same database works fine. What it seems strange is that some time before all worked well. What happened in between I'm not sure... I've installed VS2010 SP1 on the development machine... some Windows 2003 R2 update... I don't know. Does anybody knows the reason for this error? Thanks... I'll appreciate you help... It will keep my had on my neck... :-/

Windows service hosting WCF service errors with Error ID 7034, WindowsService service terminated une

Folks

We have a number of windows services that are hosting a WCF 4.0 service each (Windows 2003 R2 Stardard SP2)

Invariably we are getting An error from Service Control Manager with this error id:7034

The description states:

"The RMWindowsService service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s)."

We have 10 services running on 5 servers (Prod, Pre-Prod, Support, Test,Dev)

All servers are Windows 2003 R2 Stardard SP2.

All Services are experiencing the error.

Some times all together, some times 2-3 at a time, some times, only one errors

On searching on the error this link said that the Error Id meant

"ERROR 7034: NS_E_SOURCEGROUP_NOTPREPARED.This error is due to The source is not yet prepared.%0 .The source of the error code is the Windows Media Server."

On searching for NS_E_SOURCEGROUP_NOTPREPARED , this link confirmed  in part what was said.

But I can find nothing that gives me a root cause of what is causing this error. Which is fair as I wrote the Winservice

After apply SQL Server 2005 SP4 recieved .NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50

Hi

I have just installed SQL Server 2005 SP4.  After the reboot of the server I noticed the following error in the event viewer.

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Failed to compile: Microsoft.ReportingServices.QueryDesigners, Version=9.0.242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91 . Error code = 0x80070002

I received no errors during the install of SQL Server 2005 SP4.

I started the service, which is set to manual, and it immediately stops, but do not receive any errors.

I rebooted the server since the error message and have not received the message again.

What is this service? How does this service apply to SQL Server 2005? Is there a fix?  I noticed in other forums that is error message has been around for a while but not sure of any fix and/or explaination of the service.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Lynn

Windows Service Applications Tutorials

You can easily create services by creating an application that is installed as a service. For example, suppose you want to monitor performance counter data and react to threshold values. You could write a Windows Service application that listens to the performance counter data, deploy the application, and begin collecting and analyzing data.

How to Localize Windows Forms and Change the Language at Runtime

Localization is the process of customizing your application to a particular language, culture or locale. Visual Studio provides support for localizing Windows Forms with much ease. In this article, we will see how to localize windows forms and give the user the ability to change to his preferred language at runtime.
When you run a localized application, the appearance is determined by two culture values. The UICulture property is used to specify which resource files will be loaded for the form. The Culture property, on the other hand, determines how strings such as dates, numerals, and currency amounts are formatted.
Let us see the steps required to create a localized form. You can then expand this example and adopt the same approach for the rest of the forms in your project

Windows Services: New Base Classes in .NET Make Writing a Windows Service Easy

Windows services are applications that run outside of any particular user context in Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. The creation of services used to require expert coding skills and generally required C or C++. Visual Studio .NET now makes it easy for you to create a Windows service, whether you're writing code in C++, C#, or Visual Basic. You can also write a Windows service in any other language that targets the common language runtime. This article walks you through the creation of a useful Windows service, then demonstrates how to install, test, and debug the service.

EventType clr20r3, P1 devenv.exe, P2 9.0.30729.1, P3 488f2b50, P4 system.drawing, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 488

Hi,I am facing a strange issue in Visual Studio 2008 Standard SP1, when using WPF Designer (even without using the Designer tab, only XAML tab). Visual Studio crashes very often, without any apparent reason, and in various ways, for example: exits instantly, the IDE displays corrupted UI, when begining compiling it stops responding. There are two new Event Log entries after this: EventType clr20r3, P1 devenv.exe, P2 9.0.30729.1, P3 488f2b50, P4 system.drawing, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4889dec2, P7 33d, P8 18, P9 system.outofmemoryexception, P10 NIL. .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A2E0F92) (0)Worth mentioning:- computer has Windows XP SP3 with the latest updates installed- it crashes on other computer types too- the project has quite a large number of UserControls - it appears that if opening a XAML file with the XML editor instead, it works ok- on other WPF projects it also works okDoes anyone have an ideea why is this happening and solutions? Thanks

Getting AppDomain.UnhandledException event to work in a Windows Service

Nearly every forum thread I have found on "catching unhandled exceptions in a service" seems to end up where I am.  The supposed solution is the use of the AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException event.  But it doesn't work for someone, who then asks why and gets no answer.  Same for me; I can't get the event to happen.  It's as if I need the ServiceProcess version of Application.SetUnhandledExceptionMode(), which doesn't exist. For diagnosing this, I start a timer in a child object of the service and then throw an exception in the timer event handler.  Simple enough to simulate the real situation.  I have tried subscribing to the UnhandledException event in at least a half dozen locations throughout the service, from the Program that runs ServiceBase.Run() to the constructor of the object that owns the Timer, but it never catches this exception. The VS debugger recognizes that the forced exception is unhandled and takes me to the place where is thrown, letting me know it is an unhandled exception. Why doesn't my handler catch it?  Running without the debugger, the exception throws, the timer thread crashes, the service continues merrily along, and nothing gets logged anywhere.  That is NOT the result I need.  What are the people for whom this works doing that I am not doing? How can I at least get the offe
