i have a task to complete where i wan to display pdf documents from documents library on Home page. and also want to show a MORE link on the bottom when user click on MORE button should display list of all the documents or will redirect to document library.
This is in MOSS 2007.
One of the user got My owa link in place of my site on the my home page ( go to my site --> my home --> top right corner shows My owa insead of my site ) and he wants to edit that my owa link now. first of all i dont know how he got that
My owa link in the place of my site on my home page. When he surfs any other page than he is getting my site on all other pages. so he is just getting My owa link in place of my site only on the my home page.
At the first glanse, i think it would be master page issue but if that would be the case than it shold apply all the users but this is happening just for one user and we are not using custom master page.
I'm trying to create a site page containing a part of a document library. I've added a data view web part to my page and then I can see all documents and folders of the library on the site page.
Problem is that I only want to see documents and subfolders that are in a specific folder of the library. I've tried to set the folder scope in designer to "Show only files of a specific folder", but I don't know where to specify the folder. Then
I tried to do the same using a filter on the path, but this doesn't work with a "greather then" filter.
Has anyone tried to do the same and how?
Thanks a lot!
I can't find that web part as something I can use elsewhere? As in, I can't add that web part on other pages made even on the same site. What would be ideal is to have that web part available to add as needed to other sites/pages of course. As it stands,
for me it seems the only place I can use that web part is on the home page of a new "Group Work Site", i hope that I'm wrong. I've tried exporting the web part, but the importing does nothing when trying to import it to other sites, of course other 2010 sites.
Please let me know how I may add that web part to my available to use web parts please.
I created my own file type. And I have an application to open this specific file
(xml). In SP2010 created a list of documents and have uploaded this file type on my list of specific documents and up
to here everything is working fine.
But when I click the file from the list of documents that he was open with my software or whether it is possible to synchronize
with the file.
My application (WPF Application) is already prepared to receive through "CommandLineArgument" the name and location of the file. If I go to the folder where
my file and make double click, my software starts and open the file.
How do I open t
According to this video:
more than 1 person can open a word document and edit it at the same time.
When I test it, it doesn't work.
I can open it fine but my colleague can only open a read-only version.
We're both using Office 2010.
I found out that I'm part of OWNER group, while the other guy is just a MEMBER group.
I've checked the permission for MEMBER, it has "contribute" permission, which allow him to edit document library:
<label for="idspnidEditListItems">Edit Items - Edit items in lists, edit documents in document libraries, and customize Web Part Pages in document libraries. </label>
If I add him to OWNER group, he can work on it like the one on the video (link above).
Or, I can add individual user and assign DESIGNER role to it.
My question is: why he has to be in the OWNER group (or DESIGNER role)?
since we have many people working on the document but only 1 person to be included in the OWNER group, it's not a good idea to add everyone to OWNER
I am using sharepoint 2007 sp2, it has been workig fine for the past 8 months but since one of the developers installed .net 4.0 framework, every time we create a new sharepoit publishng site or extend and existing application the home url displays an "Unknown
File Type" security warning message and asks users to download the file. If i manually tupe in the full url
http://www.mysite.com/pages/default.aspx it is displayed correctly. I have uninstalled .net 4 from the server but i still have the same error. I have tried to replicate this error on
a development server but sharepoitn works fine on that even with .net 4.0 installed.
Has anyone had the same issue ? I would appreciate any suggestios or help with troubleshootig this issue.

The problem what I found is, when I create a site collection "List this new site in the site directory " check box is not available on Site creation page.
could some help me how can I make this(List this new site in the site directory) check box available on the create site page.
I made a custom ASP.NET page to enter information into SharePoint list. How can I open this page from list view, for example, New Item will open my page instead of default NewForm.aspx?
If anyone has seen this issue, or is aware of it, your help is appreciated it.
Our intranet homepage is suddenly missing the "My Links" link on the top right corner. The welcome message and "My Site" shows up. When I click on "My Site" and it takes me to my profile, I can see the "My Links" on that page.
However, it is no longer showing on the homepage. This is the case for all users.
How can I re-enable it or make it show on the homepage again? Anyone know what would have caused it to suddenly disappear? We have not been making any changes to the home page or the intranet.
I have created sharepoint site using MOSS 2007 and am using
After Successfully logging into site, when I attempt to open an MS office document from the document library, It pops up an authentication window. Once I close the authentication
window, the document Opens, if I don’t close the authentication window, the document does not open.
This is happening only in Internet Explorer.Documents are opening without entering credentials in “google chrome” and “Mozilla”. The authentication pop-up
itself does not appear.
