My Q2(Logic????): When user enter the start date and end date in first gridview(Daily) that period should not be allowed to enter in the second gridview(Weekly) or third gridview (Fortnight) or Fourth gridview (Monthly) and Simil

How To Set a Date Format In GridView Using ASP.NET 2.0

A very common desire is to set a column of a gridview to display just the month, day and year of a DateTime type. The problem is the by default, the HtmlEncode property of the boundfield attribute (
The problem is that if this field is enabled, you can not pass format information to the boundfield control. That is, if you try the following code, you will not get the desired result.

gridview date

Hii have a gridview in  each row of gridview row i hve 2 columns  in each row i  need a button  to enter date , when i click button one calender shld popup and data shld be display at  end of the row

filter gridview from a dropdownlist with date

having trouble fing any info on what i need to be doing i have tried '{1}'  ,  '#{1}#' , '{1:MM/dd/yyyy}' and a whole bunch of combinations thereof Teh problem is when i get it to actual not have a complie error then the functionality is not correct as i am unable to "select" all from my dropdown list . The only way i have gotten anything close to working is by removinf the % from both the filter and the default value.   here is relevant code   <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlShipDate" AutoPostBack="true" runat="server" Height="16px" Width="75px" DataSourceID="adsPopulateShipDate" DataTextField="dShipDate" DataTextFormatString="{0:MM/dd/yyyy}" DataValueField="dShipDate"> <asp:ListItem Text="All" Value="%"></asp:ListItem> </asp:DropDownList> Pleas enote i removed the append databound items=true<asp:AccessDataSource ID="AccessDataSource1" runat="server" DataFile="~/App_Data/JAGENT.mdb" SelectCommand="SELECT [cPronumber], [cCustomerRef], [dShipDate], [cOrigCity], [cOrigState], [dDeliveryDate], [cDestCity], [cDestState] FROM [BillingHistory] WHERE ([cCust

Display latest date in GridView

           I m getting data from database using SQL

I have 4 rows for this sql and I m displaying in GridView. I want the latest modified date as my first row but it is displaying in a reverse order. How can I display rows using Latestmodified date without sorting.

Issue with CAML Query regarding date comparision.

I have a below query in one the eventhandlers. All I do in the query is to get all records where Next_Date column is < CurrentDateTime ( I have shown current date below in full date format but it will be variable).

What I am observing is the comparision seems to be failing or not considering time format. For example the below query should not return any records when NEXT_DATE is 9/30/2010 23:59:59 and CurrentDateTime is 9/30/2010 06:22:22. However the query does return records. It looks like the comparision is just happening with Date and not time. What could be the problem? Please suggest.

         <FieldRef Name='Next_x0020_Date' />
         <Value Type='DateTime'>2010-09-30T13:13:13Z</Value>
      <FieldRef Name='Next_x0020_Date' Ascending='False' />

Tricky Insert Logic for dynamically created row in GridView.

Hi, and thanks for peeping the query i have.

I am dynamically generating the Row in GridView and saving the data in database using StringCollection. Instead of using StringCollection i want to pass the data(user entered data) to local variable , eg:

string name = txtFName; and so on. but it wont work for dynamically created rows.

So if you knw how to assign the user provided data in the local variable like above i have show, please help me out.

The code for inserting the records for dynamic created rows in grid view via StringCollection is below

protected void btnSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)

        int rowIndex = 0;

        StringCollection sc = new StringCollection();

        if (ViewState["CurrentTable"] != null)

            DataTable dtCurrentTable = (DataTable)ViewState["CurrentTable"];

            if (dtCurrentTable.Rows.Count > 0)

Not sure of the correct logic to return records based on date in my WHERE clause

I have a table that contains records with a start and end date.. within our application we have another table that contains a retention number.. its a number 1 thru 100 or -1 indicating retain forever.

Now i need to pull back all records that are in the table that have a deviceID = 231 and that have a startdate < the retention period.. So what i was expecting was records that have a startdate less than the retention time from todays date..

I have the following 2 queries that return the same results.. and not really sure which logic would be correct.. for this example, there are 15 records for that ID.. and 2 of which are older than 20days ago. So which logic should i use?

DECLARE @retention_time int
DECLARE @id bigint

SET @retention_time = '20'
SET @id = '231'

SELECT * FROM DeviceInfo WHERE Id = @id AND DATEDIFF(day, startDate,GETDATE()) > @retention_time
SELECT * FROM DeviceInfo WHERE Id = @id AND startDate < (GETDATE() - @retention_time)

SharePoint Date Time Control logic for saving and retriving in List

Hi Friends,

     I am Ali, I need to set the SharePoint Date Time Control in my webpart.

1. When i am adding student details in Admission Form, ( Fields like Name, Class, data of birth, Date of Joining ...)

2. at Date Of Joining : here,  SharePoint Date Time Control should show the default date as (Sys date).

For this i am using this :

" DateTimeControl1.SelectedDate =DateTime.Now; "

it is working fine.

and For Saving " Date "  in list item From SharePoint Date Time Control i am using this :

listitem1["Date Of Birth"] = DateTimeControl1.SelectedDate.ToShortDateString();

3. When the user retriving the date from particular list, here Date Time Control should show the date, as what date he (student) was added in the list.

for Retriving date from List to SharePoint Date Time Control i am using this as below: But it doe

how to create a query in gridview selectcommand without the code behind for getting the system date.

how to query the system date in selectcommand in gridview without using the codebehind. using c# .net

Disable past date, showing URL in gridview and validate generated number

I've got 3 problems and I can't find the solution so that's why I'm here.
1. I've got a calander for adding a product to my shop. How can I make sure that you can't select a date in the past?
2. I have a gridview, and I have added a hyperlinkfield in access. When I'm filling up my gridview it doesn't show a link, it shows this:
example= www.Groezrock.be#http://www.Groezrock.be#
3. I've added a label and a textbox on my guestbook page. It says "Please fill in the number in the textbox -label that generates 4 random number- txtbox.
For filling up the textbox I use this code:

        Dim randObj As New Random
        lblVraag.Text = (randObj.Next(1001, 10000).ToString)

The problem is, when I fill in the number, it always gives me the validation error "Numbers don't match" which I added myself.

        If txtnumbers.Text = lblnumbers.Text Then
            lblFout.Text = "Numbers don't match."

End If

Inplace Edit in GridView

In this article I am presenting a different way to look at EditItemTemplate, using which user navigation for editing is reduced and . it looks very different (see screeen shots) then regular implementation of GridView.

GridView Confirmation Box Using JQuery BlockUI in asp.net

JQuery is the most popular JavaScript library. One of the main reasons for its fame is the plugin architecture. Anyone can create a separate library that leverage the JQuery library. In this article we are going to look at the BlockUI library which is used to block the user screen while performing a task.

Using a CompareValidator to check input is a valid date

The CompareValidator can do more than just compare two controls. You can also compare it against several of the main .net data types such as Date, Integer, Double and Currency.

To do this you would set Operator="DataTypeCheck" and instead of setting the ControlToCompare or ValueToCompare attributes as you normally would you use the Type="Date" (or any of the data types I have listed above).

Textbox Editable GridView in ASP.NET

This article describes how I made a fully editable gridview in C# using ASP.NET 2. The idea is that the GridView looks and works like an Excel spreadsheet. You see all the cells in the table, and you can edit any of the cells you like, and they are automatically updated (i.e. saved to the database). This is very often how people expect data tables to work in web pages, and I've often seen people clicking in vain on un-editable gridview cells, somehow expecting to edit them, and not understanding that they need to click an Edit button at the end of the row.
