I'm running SQL Server 2008 SE. I'm trying to give a user permission to view reports in a folder. When I give this user access to that folder by clicking on the folder, go to properties, and then New Role Assignment, that user is not able to access the report
server because I didn't give him authintication on the server first. But when I do give him Browser capability from the home page, that will give him access to all the folders and he can see all the reports. So I have to go to each folder that I don't want
him to access and remove his account from there.
Is there a better way to do this? I know I can simply give him the link to the folder that I gave him access to, but I don't want to do that. I need the users to access the Report Server home page, and then see only the folders they have access to.
