After installing SQLServer 2008R2 with Advanced Services. (which works well) I could not connect to Report Services using the Reporting Services Configuration Manager which was installed and seems to run. I typed in the Instance of the SQLServer (on the
local machine) as reported by querying the database. (computername\SQLEXPRESS) but the find button reports an invalid name space. If I type in only the ComputerName or SQLEXPRESS the find process reports "Unable to connect to Report Server computername".
So I read somewhere that a service should be running (like the SQLServer Engine service) and should be found in services. I've read of two different names for it. Report Services(SQLEXPRESS) and SQL Server Report Services but neither is listed in the services
on this Machine for the Administrator level login used to install SQLServer.
So I tried to reinstall the missing component and find that the SQL Server Installation Center will not allow the selection of any further components because they are already installed.
Can someone suggest how to get this Report Services component installed and operational.
