Use function name twice with different arguments

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 30, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF

The question is about WCF and WSE.

I`m looking for a way to re-use the function name for a different function.

Public Function Call(Byval iActivationCode as String) as String
Public Function Call(Byval iUser as Integer, Byval iProductNumber As Integer) as String

If it`s not possible, how does everyone else do this?
- create a request object (check inside the function for the filed fields, its not the right way i think)
- create they two different functions with different names (You get a lot of different and long function names)
- rename the functions for remote users (i don`t prefer this becaus you lose the compiler functionality and overview)

When upgrading from december 2009 CU update to the latest to date (office-kb2276472-fullfile-x86-glb & wss-kb2276474-fullfile-x86-glb) for MOSS 2007 i get an error when I try to delete a file. In the logs the following lines appear:

Unexpected query execution failure, error code 8144. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below. "Procedure or function proc_SecGetIndividualUrlSecurityCheckEventReceivers has too many arguments specified." Query text (if available): "{?=call proc_SecGetIndividualUrlSecurityCheckEventReceivers(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)}"

I already ran the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard several times but no result. I noticed that sharepoint gives 14 parameters and the stored procedure only takes 13 parameters...

Any suggestions?

Procedure or function has too many arguments specified - IN DESPERATE NEED OF IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE!!

I have a stored procedure that was previously working but has since stopped since I imported date into the table that it should be altering.

The purpose of this stored proc is to take new patient data input by user and add data to new record in patient table and generate and output the new patients ID number.  But now upon execution I recieve the error msg: Procedure or function has too many arguments specified.  This is a critical and time sensitive issue so ANY assistance would be appreciated.

connection to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL server express 2005 to function properly.

I dont have the SQL EXPRESS installed instead I have SQL Standard Edition.

I have two SQL Server instances installed.

1- UserLT (this is sql 2000)
2- UserLT\SQL2005 (this is SQL 2005 named instance)

But when i try to add a database to my VS website project I get the following error:

Connection to SQL Server files (*.mdf) require SQL server express 2005 to function properly. please verify the installation of the component or download from the URL: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=4925

I went in Tools>Opetions>DataBase tools>Data Connection>Sql Server Instance Name (blank for default)

and changed the "SQLEXPRESS" to "USERLT\SQL2005".

But I still get the same error message. Any ideas how i can resolve this issue?

Public Shared function doubt????

I am using VB.net/ASP.NET and SQL Server 2000 for a web application.

For populating the dropdowns, I wrote a Public Shared function LoadDDL(), in which I pass the dataset and dropdown name to set.

I have my doubts that this function will produce unexpected results for concurrent users. And will mix the results among sessions because it is a Shared function.

I am confused here. Is it the right way to go?

Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Pure C++: Invoking Generic or Function Templates

As I promised last time, in this month's column I'll walk through the process of defining and invoking a generic or template function under C++\CLI. A function template or a generic function begins with the template or generic keyword followed by its parameter list.
