Http module works under IIS6, but not under IIS 7

I have a module named AbleVF, under IIS6, I map it to wildcard so it can process all requests, which worked fine.

Under IIS7,  at the beginning I could not make it work, after some search, put it under system.webServer like

http module calling order

Our site uses urlRewriter http module that does the url rewriting for us.

I want to create another http module that will handle our customize URL redirects. Now I want this new customize http module to be call before the UrlRewriter module (to avoid page not found messages the UrlRewriter generates). Is there a way we can contol the calling order ?

Rewriter http module problem in IIS 7

I had this problem a few months ago however this time I cannot seem to fix it.The module uses redirection rules read from a database to redirect non-exisistant pages.  However I get resource cannot be found errors in IIS 7.IIRC the last time I simply set the application pool to classic and the redirecting worked.  I assumed doing this again would fix the problem. However it doesn't.  When I change the application pool for the site to  ASP.NET v4.0 Classic I get this error "Handler "PageHandlerFactory-ISAPI-4.0_32bit" has a bad module "IsapiModule" in its module list".The project has recently been upgraded to use v4 of the framework (it was v2 previously). What should I be looking at to try and solve this problem.

WsHttpBinding: No FaultException for http status code 400 (for 500 everything works fine)

A .NET client consumes web services using Soap 1.2 via WCF. The services generate SOAP errors with http status code 400 and body containing SOAP fault code as well as subcodes. The client side exception that is thrown only contains InnerException = {"The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request."} without ability to access SOAP error code information.

For http status code 500 type of errors everything works fine by raising a FaultException with information.

Is there any flag to get it working for http status code 400 as well?

Only http OR https works after installing new SSL

I have MOSS 2007 and it is published through an ISA 2006 Server. My SSL recently expired, so I purchased a new SSL and installed it on my MOSS server on the SharePoint - 80 server. I then exported it and installed it on my ISA Server using these instructions (http://www.isaserver.org/articles/exportsslcert.html).

Everything works fine if users log in through the ISA Server (these users are external to our Network).

However, internal users navigating directly to SharePoint could no long reach http:// links. When I remove the SSL, http:// links work, but https:// links do not.

I don't believe I changed anything except installing the new SSL. How can I get both http and https traffic working again with the SSL installed on the SharePoint box?

Thanks in advance.

Tale of 2 ALMOST Identical Module Signing Scripts...(One Works One Doesn't)

Hello again SQL Guru's

I have been trying to learn and master module signing and have had pretty good success with help from articles such as http://blogs.msdn.com/b/raulga/archive/2006/10/30/using-a-digital-signature-as-a-secondary-identity-to-replace-cross-database-ownership-chaining.aspx?CommentPosted=true  and http://blogs.msdn.com/b/lcris/archive/2005/06/15/sql-server-2005-procedure-signing-demo.aspx and some others as well.

However I am running into a snag in my Sandbox environment. I can sign modules for cross dbase access using certs and these (SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, FX) work but when I try to do (EXEC) they fail. However if I add the user to the DB it works. The user has ZERO, SQUAT, NADA for perms but he has to be there??? Consider this:

2 databases. 1 for WebAccess (WebAXDB) and 1 for CustomerData (DataDB). I create a proc on the DataDB. Signed it and obtained the sig. Created the exact same proc on WebAxDB and signed it with the sig from DataDB. Inside the proc it does a select. My webuser has access to the WebAxDB and can exec the

Problem Adding Custom HTTP Module with Ajax(System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule)

I have Created a custom Module for my application. It works fine when i am testing on a sample website.

But when i integrated the same with the original application it dosent works fine. Actully i am using Ajax control toolkit and it uses its own module for request processing.System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule.

Hence my handlers section becomes something like this :

      <add name="ScriptModule" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" />
      <add type="MyModule, MyModule,Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=ba11cfdfb1d1111b" name="SiteMinderHttpModule" />

 Now i think my module working fine but because of it there is some hinderence caused in the Ajax request processing.I get the error sys is undefined.

I have created a class library Project and implemented the iHTTPModule interface and then registered the assembly in GAC and then accessing the assembly from there..

Is there any work around for this problem as my page is not rendering properly.

Please Help.

Exception handling in projects which uses Ajax, ASP.NET, Http Module, MVC3 and Http Handlers

Dear All,

I am working on a project where we have used few of the web application plateforms & techniques. I need to build a robust exception handling framework for my applications that handles all type of exceptions i.e server exception, unhandled exception, http module exception and custom raised exception etc.

In our projects,

1) we have static ASP.net pages (without code behind) for jQuery menus which uses jquery ajax and custom HttpHandler to fetch the data from the server.

2) some aspx pages load and save application data using jQuery ajax and custom httpHandlers.

3) some functionalities are developed in MVC3 which uses strongly and non strongly type views. Strongly type view save the data through controller on page submit and non strongly type view used jQuery ajax and json to save the data from controller.

4) We are also using HttpModule in our web site to authenticate the user.

Please guide me how to handle exception from multiple sources and display custom error message to the user from asp.net pages and jquery ajax calls?

ASP.NET Architecture - ASP.NET Worker Process - HTTP Pipleline - Http Modules and Handlers

"ASP.NET is a powerful platform for building Web applications, that provides a tremendous amount of flexibility and power for building just about any kind of Web application. Most people are familiar only with the high level frameworks like WebForms and WebServices which sit at the very top level of the ASP.NET hierarchy. In this article I'll describe the lower level aspects of ASP.NET and explain how requests move from Web Server to the ASP.NET runtime and then through the ASP.NET Http Pipeline to process requests.

Writing Http Handlers and Modules in IIS 7.5

This article describes how Http modules and handlers are to be written and configured in IIS 7.5. The concept of a handler and module remains same, so dose there programming model. In this section we start off with the concept of a Http module and a Http handler, then talk about how to code them and finally describe the two methods available to configure them.

Code works on aspx but not ascx

Not sure which category to put this question in, so I will put it in here.

Just to give you an idea of the layout of my solution, I have the main project, along with 2 class libraries, BLL and DAL.  (Business Logic Layer and Data Access Layer)

The BLL refers to the DAL and the main project refers to the BLL.

I had a test website and the code worked fine, but the same code will not work on the real project. The only difference is that in the test project, the code was on an aspx code behind, whereas in the real project, it is an ascx code behind (Web User Control )

The code is:

Dim connectionString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("ASPNETDBConnectionString").ConnectionString
        Dim recordEntry As New UserRecord(connectionString)
        recordEntry.UserName = "TestName"
        recordEntry.BMI = bMI
        recordEntry.BMR = bMR
        recordEntry.FTM = fTM
        recordEntry.TDEE = tDEE
        recordEntry.TodayDate = dateForToday

Dim connectionString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("ASPNETDBConnectionString").ConnectionString

HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden

(VB Express website directed me to ASP.NET Web Services which in turn redirected me to this forum).

 Hopefully someone can help me here......

I am using VIsual Web Developer and downloaded the small business application to use as a starting point to help my wife get a website up for her small business. When I load the application, I can F5 and it runs fine but as soon as I make any modification to the app and hit F5, I get the HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden when it tries to show the website.

I notice a pop up that occurs when I run that allows me to choose the link for my app and it displays correctly (I close the webpage that has the error on it).

This seems like a pain, is there a setting I'm missing - I would think that this should "just work".

What's up?????
