I received the following error...*****System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: There is insufficient free space on disk volume 'C:\' to create the database. The database requires 2739929088 additional free bytes, while only 801185792 bytes are available. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)*****I have looked at the solution recommended on this forum http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=79848 but I am still baffled as to why it says that I don't have enough disk space?  I ran the RESTORE FILELISTONLY command and it told me that the "size" was 1.4 GB and I've got 60GB left. I am starting to resolve that my .BAK is corrupt.  Are there any other reasons as to why I am unable to restore my backup? Thanks for any help in advance!

DIsk Space due to Queries

HI All,   I have a table which is pretty big- couple of billion rows. When I do a select on this query, I run out of disk-space on C drive. However, neither data nor log files on C drive so why would C drive run out of space? Any thoughts? Thanks in  advance.

know the hard disk's SQL Server space available from SQL Query

I would be able to determine how much hard disk space is available on the Server with a SQL Query, and from an other computer on the LAN.

How can I do something?

Thanks for your help.

Backup SharePoint 2010 farm configuration settings only get an error for not enough disk space when

I am trying to do a backup the Backup using the Backup and Restore feature in SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.  I just want to backup only the farm configuration settings only.

so I followed the GUI

Open CA Backup and Restore, checked the Farm checkbox,  click Next

I chose the following:

Backup Type :  Full

Data to backup:  Back up only configuration settings

Backup File location  :   use an UNC shared location   \\servername\sharedname

at this point,  I see the Estimated disk space required is:   1.2 GB

the server hard disk available space is  30 GB

but when i click the Start Backup,  i got an error in RED saying "There is not enough disk space. Free additional space on your hard disk and then try again. Approximate amount of space needed is 40 GB.   Amount of space free on disk:  30 GB."

Why is this happened?  and the estimated disk spaced required still showed at 1.2GB

If anyone had experience this problem and have a solution, please advice

Error displaying like not enough available memory or disk space for adding the excel

I am creating excel file and adding the values to the cells thorugh code.

file upload in chunks or not buffering in memory before writing to disk?

What are the options for handling file uploads to reduce the memory footprint?  Is there a way to upload in chunks?  Is there a way to stream upload directly to disk instead of loading entire file in server memory?

Image processing, determine white space and crop

I have created a image upload for our ID card system to allow users to upload new images, edit them and submit for approval.  This is all working well with a combination of asp.net (c#) and jquery to give a seemless editor etc.

We have had a few users who I cannot believe have scanned a photo of themself and then just submitted it with the A4 page of white and little photo.

I am wondering if anyone can help with a suggestion on how I could possibly reduce the load of these coming through (I can't believe they can be this stupid), it stipulates UK passport standards.

Would my only option be to check for a single continues colour that occurs and if it reaches a certain percentage point say 60% then to just send back an error stating they need to crop the image.

Can anyone help with providing sample or that I can use to move this one on.

I am still in disbelief on this one.  the other one is they take a photo of whole body and other in it and cut straight down middle chopping the people out but supplying a photo that no use for an id photo card....but that I can't imagine being solved programatically as I need to determine where their face dimensions are and what percentage of the actual photo is taken up by it and if it below a threshold reject it.

Bitmap FromFile space "file not found"

I am using aspose.slides to create PPTx's. Some of the process involves loading jpg's from another server and including them in the presentation. This works fine in my development environment. When I upload the site to its server, the jpg loading fails.

I am trying to access jpg's on the other server by:

   oFS = New FileStream(sFile, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)

This causes an access violation error when run from the server.

I also boiled the code down to reading the file directly:

   oImg = System.Drawing.Bitmap.FromFile(sFilePath)

This causes a file not found error.

We have narrowed the problem down to the fact that the File Path has a space in it. How does one solve this problem (while still keeping the space, there is a lot of legacy data)? I have tried replacing the space with %20 or +. I have tried using Server.UrlEncode. The error message always comes back with the encoding in place (like no decoding
